TEST DRIVE # 12



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Daring Drinks

A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.

Electric Eels

An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.

Frog Friend

Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.

Gaseous Grandpas

A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?

Horrifying Hentai

Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

Uh--- no thanks I don't... drink.

[ Mikleo politely pushes the drinks that's forced at him away. It's been a constant chain since he entered this part of the world. He doesn't know the whole history but it seems like these people were trying to rope more customers and they really wanted him to try the drinks they made. However, he doesn't know how much tolerance he had for alcohol much less know what it is. The stuff already had a strange smell that made him slightly nauseated but the most important part was trying to get away unscathed. ]

I SAYS YOU GOT TO DRINK THIS BEFORE YOU LEAVE ONIICHAN!

NOT IF I HAVE ANY SAY IN THIS. HE'S MINE FIRST!!!!!!!

[ The second guy shoved the first guy out of the way. Mikleo was trying not to make any faces as he casually steps back. ]

I really should be on my way.

[ Not on their watch apparently. They're jumping at him now. Help a meebo out? ]

{F R O G F R I E N D

You've got to be kidding me.

[ Another one of these events in another district? Really? First angry bar owners and now he's facing a large freaking frog. What a day this turned out to be. He sighs loudly as he moves to look at the frogs but of course they weren't going to let them examine them in peace.

The first one decided that it was ready to slobber Mikleo in slime and other frog fluids. He's jumping straight at the Water Seraph ]

H-HEYYYY!!!!!!!!!

{H O R R I F Y I N G H E N T A I

[ Mikleo was-- well running.

He's running really fast because he's being chased by a bunch of freaky tentacles. He's not going to stop and whoever was in the way, will probably either get knocked over or dragged along because he wasn't going to elt them sit there and suffer what was being shoveled at him. ]

Honestly, why does this keep happening!

[ He dodged another tentacle before rounding a corner and almost running straight into a cute girl with pigtails who tries to jump out at him too. Another dodge and he's back on the run. ]

Horrifying Hentai

[darkhorrse]

[ It's not hard to pick out the victim in this strange development, which has the motorist coming to a stop in front of him. ]

Get on.

[ There's a really long moment of silence as Mikleo stares incredulously at the man that has some sort of moving vehicle. What on earth is that?! How does it work and why the hell was Mikleo more concerned with te bike then getting on?! ]

[water_meebo]

Ri-Right!!!

[ He snapped back into reality as he quickly jumped onto the vehicle. He'll survive somehow right? Right?! ]

You certainly have good timing-- Otabek. Let's go before there's more coming.

[darkhorrse]

[ Otabek puts a helmet on his head, telling him to hold on before revving up the bike and doing a quick turn just narrowly missing a tentacle thrown at them by his "fans". When they're on the road, and far away from whatever that was, Otabek turns into a garden and parks the bike. He gets off, pockets the keys, and promptly moves to help him off. ]

Are you okay?

[water_meebo]

Wh-Whoaaaa hold on!!!

[ Too late, and they're off and Mikleo's literally attached to Otabek for his dear life-- er death or whatever. He's never been alive anyway, so it didn't matter what his state was but the exhilarating feeling of riding this vehicle eventually takes over as he's overjoyed to be riding it! It's so fun and fast! He's never been on something like this before

Eventually, he was out of breath by the time they made it to safety. He couldn't even ask questions about the "fans" that wee on the road. The ride was beyond dangerous. ]

...I think so. Where did all of those things come from? It's been like this all day!

[ He shouted not really at anyone in particular. ]

[darkhorrse]

[ He shrugs in answer. He doesn't know nor cares all too much. They seemed more of a nuisance than dangerous. He takes off his glasses to look at him. ]

What did you do?

[ Because he has a hard time believing he would suddenly be chased down by a rabid group for no reason. Poor Otabek is still new and naive about this place ]

[water_meebo]

[ Well either way, they were able to temporarily escape the problem at hand. Mikleo could finally breathe normally. ]

Huh?!

[ He gave Otabek stare. ]

Nothing! I was minding my own business when I got jumped by it.

Frog Friend

MOVE!

[And that is a very tiny figure smashing her feet into the back of Mikleo's knees.]

[People go down when you do that, right? Wendy is pretty sure about that- it seems like something that just makes sense, like how the sky is blue or whatever. Simple logic. She's short enough that the frog's leap will go clear over her head and, if Mikleo goes down, over his too.]

[water_meebo]

ACK!

[ The tiny figure smashing her feet into the back of his knees causes the Water Seraph to topple forward and face planted into the ground in an almost comical way. It takes him a moment to realize a little girl had just kicked him and knocked him over.

WHY WERE GIRLS SO VIOLENT GOD DAMN IT?!!!!! ]

You could have done it more gently can't you?!!!

[ He shouted at her when he finally managed to get back to his feet. There's a small welt forming at the bridge his nose though. Face plants hurt. ]

[nopixiedust]

It's not like I could do a princess carry, you know!

[Don't make her kick you again, buddy, she'll do it.]

[But then there's a loud annoyed croak from behind her, and Wendy ducks down to avoid another jump with a squeal.]

These things are so gross!

[water_meebo]

That's not what I'm getting at!

[ He retorted back to her. Mikleo was going to say more but the loud croak made him jolt his head around.

Please for the love of everything good in life-- don't kick him again. He'd probably be even more crippled if she did. ]

You're telling me! Get behind me!

[ If it was him he'd probably avoid trying to start fight but it seemed like the croaking amphibian was not going to leave him or the girl alone. Time to defend themselves.

[nopixiedust]

Do you know what you're doing?

[But by all means- she quickly scrambles behind him, staring at the frog from around his torso. These frogs are just too weird, but she's not really sure what to do about them.]

If you get hit, don't fall on me, please...

Of course I do. Originally, I didn't want to have to fight it but it's not like I have much of a choice, considering you'll be in trouble as well.

[ After all the yelling, he seemed rather composed as he spoke to her. Mikleo raised his hand briefly, gathering sources of water nearby. ]

I'll make sure not to hurt you so stay behind me.

Drinks

[Oh boy.

Lavi feels a brief pang of pity for the guy, watching as the two bar owners argue with each other in trying to get the guy to try their drink.

But then they're trying to jump the poor guy, so Lavi moved quickly, wrapping an arm around the stranger's waist and moving him out of the way just as the two bar owners crash face first.

Lavi lets go of him, rubbing the back of his neck as he watches the two angry men, sparing a glance at Mikleo.]

Let's take the chance to run.

[water_meebo]

Wh-whoa---HUH?!

[ He didn't see the person approach but he was more than grateful for them coming in to save the seraph. He looked a bit confused but he slowly grasped the whole situation. The two men continued to argue and a bottles were starting to be thrown at each other. Mikleo did find this to be the best time to leave. ]

...Is this a common thing in these parts?

[ He muses briefly giving the other a look before nodding his head. ]

They've been at it for two hours. Let's go.

[lostinshadows]

Wish I can tell you if it was or not. Afraid this is the first time I'm seeing this, too.

[And it's definitely not a welcome he wanted.]

Two hours?

[Let's walk and talk as Lavi quickly leads the other man away from the arguing men, ducking when a bottle came a little too close to his head.]

[water_meebo]

I see.

[ he frowns. This world is truly very fascinating and different from what he knew. He can't help but feel a bit inept. ]

Yeah. I was trying to pass through them but I got stopped. They wouldn't stop talking. Eventually, they cornered me when I was trying to leave and well-- you saw the rest.

[ He sighs a little as he follows after Lavi without saying anymore. Mikleo too, dodged a broken bottle. It looked like the two men actually noticed them leaving and now dashing in their direction, angrily. Were they cursing too? Probably! ]

[lostinshadows]

Seems like they're pretty adamant.

[He can hear those people starting to run after them, though, causing him to glance back at them.

Time to pick up the pace.]

Let's get out of here quickly before they try to catch us.

Daring Drinks

[ From behind: ]

He's mine.

[ And placing a hand on his shoulder as he stares down the two bartenders. Just helping a meebo out.]

Excuse me?!

[ Did you hear what you are saying here!?!! ]

[water_meebo]

[ Can this day possibly get any worse?! He stared at the hand that's on his shoulder before slowly removing it. Thanks but no thanks Zero. That's really not how you do it and now these guys are going to stare at the two of them incredulously. ]

People swing that way here still huh? Guess this is what it means to live in the present. Why don't ya help us out too big oniichan?!

I'd say he stays! I don't care if he belongs to you

I'll pass, really.

[ Mikleo moves to get away from all of them. ]

Also-- What are you even saying?!

[ You want to play it that way? Fine. Deal with them on your own little guy.

Zero shrugs, letting him move away. ]

He's not my type.

[water_meebo]

[ Dude, this is not how you help people.... really. ]

Ah-AH not so fast big guy.

[ The persistent bar owner steps right in Zero's way while the other guy was in Mikleo's ]

YA AIN'T GOIIN' NOWHERE UNTIL YOU DRINK OUR STUFF AND TELL US WHO'S BETTER.

[ The Water Seraph heaved a sigh. ]

This isn't helping the situation, you know...?

[ He furrowed his brows as he raised his arms to block the second bar owner. ]

We don't care what the hell you guys are but you ain't leavin'!

[moonlitknight]

[ He was going to leave them to you, but now they've officially annoyed him. Zero is done with his, so have a Hunter walking past the first bartender who immediately makes a grab for him only to have his hand pass straight through him. The astonished bartender stand still looking at his hand as if he can't quite make out what happened as Zero reaches the other two. ]

Let's go.

[ He tells him as takes a hold of his arm and pulls him along. ]
