TEST DRIVE # 12

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Daring Drinks

A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.

Electric Eels

An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.

Frog Friend

Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.

Gaseous Grandpas

A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?

Horrifying Hentai

Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

[ He's glad that she didn't reject his hand and they were tearing past the frogs one by one with a considerable amount of speed. Whenever they were momentarily stopped, Mikleo would use his artes to stun them so that they would be able to make some space between them and the frogs. They were leaping really crazily though. ]

Duck!

[ He shouts as they moved to another direction. ]

I don't know! They don't exude any sort of dangerous aura. On top of that I think they're just messing with us.

[Hilariously enough, when he calls for her to duck, what Wendy does instead with an indignant little shriek is jump- nearly up to his shoulders, too, higher than the frog was expecting so that it goes sailing beneath her. In no time, she’s trying to hurry on again.]

Well, it’s really not funny! These sorts of things can’t be normal, right? Is it a god’s idea of a bad joke, or something to do with ayakashi?

[ Mikleo braced himself for impact but thankfully, Wendy didn't end up landing on him when she shrieked and jumped. So much for trying to escape this peacefully. These animals are pretty persistent. ]

I don't know! I haven't been here long enough to figure that out!

[ He shouted as they were heading into the town. Maybe it would be safer if they could hide in some buildings but that also meant that he could put innocent civilians in danger. Just as quickly as he thought he turns another direction, pulling Wendy with him and making his way into the forest. Maybe they can lose it there. ]

I told you they aren't malicious! It can't be Ayakashi!!!

[ he wants to really believe that Wendy-- he really does! ]

Whoa-!
[It’s dizzying, being jerked to and fro, and it takes a second for Wendy to reorient herself when he suddenly pulls her along away from the town and into the wood.]

Be careful! You might hurt me more than one of those things jumping at me if you’re not careful!

[Although, the trees are a good idea, and she points up at them.]

Can you climb?!

Sorry!

[ He shouted back apologetically. He didn't know how else to do it really. If she really was going to get hurt, she probably should jump on his back. He'd be able to carry her pretty gar given the amount of inhuman strength he possessed in that small body of his. ]

It's hard to tell where they're coming from. Rather than having you in the line of fire, this is best-- huh?

[ He turned his head back briefly. ]

I can.

Then-

[Best as she can, she tries to tug him towards one in particular. It looks sturdy, if nothing else, and that’s one of the important things.]

Let’s go! They can’t hop that high.

[ He looks and somehow got her message. Well, it can't hurt to try right? Better than sticking around and getting pummeled by large frogs of doom. ]

I sure hope not. If they do we'd be in a lot more trouble than we can imagine but let's give it a try.

[ With that he hustles his way with her towards the largest tree she pointed him to. ]
