TEST DRIVE # 12

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Daring Drinks

A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.

Electric Eels

An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.

Frog Friend

Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.

Gaseous Grandpas

A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?

Horrifying Hentai

Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

Wish I can tell you if it was or not. Afraid this is the first time I'm seeing this, too.

[And it's definitely not a welcome he wanted.]

Two hours?

[Let's walk and talk as Lavi quickly leads the other man away from the arguing men, ducking when a bottle came a little too close to his head.]

I see.

[ he frowns. This world is truly very fascinating and different from what he knew. He can't help but feel a bit inept. ]

Yeah. I was trying to pass through them but I got stopped. They wouldn't stop talking. Eventually, they cornered me when I was trying to leave and well-- you saw the rest.

[ He sighs a little as he follows after Lavi without saying anymore. Mikleo too, dodged a broken bottle. It looked like the two men actually noticed them leaving and now dashing in their direction, angrily. Were they cursing too? Probably! ]

Seems like they're pretty adamant.

[He can hear those people starting to run after them, though, causing him to glance back at them.

Time to pick up the pace.]

Let's get out of here quickly before they try to catch us.

I don't understand why they had to take it out on a civilian, though. I can understand the need to have competit--- Huh?

[ Oh well, that's great. He steps up his movements as well and starts making a slow run for it. ]

Right.

[ They're shouting some incoherent words at the two as they shuffled faster towards Lavi and Mikleo ]

They might've taken it too far.

[Lavi doesn't really listen to their words, more interested in finding a way to get rid of those guys before they actually did catch them.]

Got any idea on how to get rid of them?

Too far is an understatement.

[ he muttered under his breath as the two men continued to be chased by the bar owners. ]

Let's find a building or a crowd of people. I doubt they'll try anything malicious.

[ Seeing they really need their reputation or whatever. Then again, he didn't know what would happen really. He'd hope they'd give up peacefully. ]

[He rolls his shoulders, sparing a glance back before he looks forward again.]

They won't; it'd be too risky for them to do anything.

[Still, being lost in a crowd or anywhere full of people seemed like a good idea to start.]

[ Mikleo doesn't look back since he doesn't want to deal with two angry shouting men right now. ]

Let's go that way then.

[ He speaks nodding to the other's suggestion. He makes his way into the crowd first and searching for an area that the two of the could hide in. ]

[Fortunately, Lavi notices a place they can hide in, grabbing Mikleo's hand and leading him over to it.]

This way.

Who-Whoa!

[ He lets out a surprised sound when Lavi pulled him over and eventually just kept in pace with him until they meet their destination. ]

[When they're safe and sound, Lavi releases Mikleo.]

Well, that was exciting.

Exciting is an understatement.

[ Mikleo makes a face at the comment. He shakes his arm off a bit after the other lets go. ]

I've never encountered people who were that desperate.

[He gives the other an apologetic look.]

I don't think it's desperation so much as just being stubborn.

[ He just sighs a little. ]

Maybe both?

[ He shakes his head as she tries to catch his breath. ]

[A smile.]

Couldn't let you deal with those guys by yourself.

I wouldn't want anyone to deal with those two on their own either.

[ He muses briefly as he shakes his head. ]

I'm Mikleo.

Lavi.

[His smile widens.]

It'd be good if we met in better circumstances, though.

Pleased to meet you Lavi.

[ He smiled as well. ]

It cannot be helped. Regardless of the circumstances, I am glad that we were able to escape safely.

As do I. Let's hope we don't run into them again.
