TEST DRIVE # 14



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Noxious Neurotoxins

There's a few blocks of Tokyo that have been closed off completely and quarantined. It seems there's a deadly neurotoxin that's been detected in the area. But authorities claim there's no way that could have happened! Looks like this might be the work of an ayakashi. Try not to get infected.

Omnipresent Obituary

The same obituary has been showing up in the papers for the last three weeks. It's for a young boy who died in a car accident. Thing is, this accident happened more than twenty years ago. A little ghost boy is just looking for some attention by printing his own death announcement over and over again. Spend a little time with him, would you?

Pretentious Partner

A detective hailed as the greatest in his field has one heck of a time keeping a partner. But he needs one bad, so he's calling on random strangers to help him out. Unfortunately, he's very full of himself and not even that good at his job. Maybe that's why all his partners leave. It's up to you to help or hurt him!

Quick Quips

Time to step up to the mic and make some jokes. A local bar needs performers - specifically comedic ones. You'd better be quick with your jokes or the audience is going to boo you off the stage, and then you won't get the payment you've been promised for doing a good job! Oh, and this is a request from a devote follower, so you'll lose that support too.

Radical Roombas

Some off-the-wall ayakashi have possessed a number of Roombas and are busily terrorizing people on the streets. That's right - small, round, automated vacuum cleaners are bothering the people of Tokyo. What's more, some kid thought it would be funny to tape knives to some of them. Watch out for Stabby and try to take out the spirit possessing it.

[Takuma decides to take this whole detective thing way too far. He is dressed in a long trench coat that he found at a thrift store and a detective cap that he found at a costume shop. He has a magnifying glass that has enlarged his bright, spring green eye as he zooms in on something of very little importance.]

[There was something...very unsettling upon seeing recent news about a young boy who's been dead for twenty years. So, when he finally does go to look for the little boy, just to see if he's still wandering about and lingering, Johan ignores the curious looks he gets.

Anyone with the ability to might be able to see this little creature perched on top of his shoulder.]

Do you see him, Ruby? [The little creature shakes its head and Johan breathes out, eyebrows furrowed.] Well, can't stop here. Let's keep going.

For someone who's seen so many things, Johan would like to think things were somewhat calmer in what can be considered 'Heaven'.

Was it because of those ayakashi things?

Johan doesn't really have much time before he dodges a few Roombas that decide to charge at him, quickly turning tail and running for it.]

[Having mystical knowledge and powers helped in this case, as Kikyo was able to form a barrier to surround her and any shinki that were accompanying her to at least stave off the poisons. Being able to perceive the source of the toxins was going to take some time as she wasn't used to the alleyways and buildings of the modern world, but that was something experience would be able to fix with time. Making her way through the streets, she kept on alert, noiseless.]

[Were kids in this era all such brats? Maybe not, but Kikyo found herself dreading trying to go back a third time to convince the child to stop messing with the news. Usually she was okay with children, but they were usually alive. Not so much in this case. Perhaps having died so young, even their mind or spirit couldn't mature? In any case, it seemed like a situation with no winners, and as she made her way to the place the childish spirit usually haunted.]

[Kikyo couldn't stand a lot of things, and idiots taking credit for everyone else's work was one of them. How would she deal with this situation? She looked at her shinki and hoped for some guidance in this manner, because if it were up to her, she'd leave the detective alone to rot, maybe. Or give up altogether in a spectacular fashion. Poetic justice was still a thing, wasn't it?]

[Comedy was not something Kikyo was good at. Luckily, there was a form of comedy where even un-funny people could participate! Playing the "straight-man", Kikyo is now at the mercy of her comedy partner to be the mood-maker and hopefully carry the act. Looking her shinki dead in the eye, she inhaled, and spoke.]

[Luckily, wearing wooden sandals worked in this case since they were slightly higher than the majority of the roombas. Unless they gained the power of fly. Then mayhaps they were all boned. Nocking her arrows into her bow, she aimed and quickly attempted to dispatch them from a distance.]

[Twenty years ago. It was a long time to be wandering after ones death. And the young boy obviously knew he was dead to be continuously reprinting his obituary. He wasn't a completely lost spirit in the same vein Cartaphilus had spoken about in that dream of hers. Or -- well, not a dream exactly.

By now Chise is wandering the city looking for any sight of the boy. Or "feeling" for him, that is.]

Maybe he's where the accident happened.

[Frankly Chise doesn't know what to make of any of this. She vaguely knows about roombas yes but she's never really seen one. And she certainly hasn't seen one with a knife taped to it.

Her expression looks both disbelieving and exasperated.]

[The Neurotoxin levels were nothing Viktor hadn't seen before. As a result, not only was his current attire more then capable to enduring these levels, but it'd be relatively easy to put something together for anyone willing to venture into the quarantine zone alongside him, so long as they made themselves useful.]

[Oh look. One of the knife-wielding Roombas had jammed its blade into his augmented legs and got it stuck.... again.]

[Viktor almost felt sorry for the poor machine the first time it happened, with it's wheels desperately seeking any sort of traction as it attempted to pull itself free. However, after the third time it happened, anything resembling sympathy had long since run out.]

[As he kicked the Roomba away and pulled the knife out of his leg, he knew he needed to stop this madness before his patience ran out as well]

[ Was it rude to point this out? The fact that, sir(?), you might...

Oh wait, never mind, he got it (although admittedly she did feel strangely sorry for the little device, it seemed to try so hard). Also you probably just voided the manufacturer's warranty by kicking the thing. ]

Ahaha... Looks like you took care of it.

[ As much as he tries, Link is really not that good with children.

He had hoped that bringing cookies to the boy's grave and saying hello, simply talking to him, something— would be enough, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Link had no idea how to play with children, and he was evidently not as good at conversing with them as he had thought. The poor man is at a loss when he turns to you. ]

I don't... suppose you have any ideas...? [ It's said with the faintest trace of embarrassment. The faintest trace. ]

[ If this detective wasn't absolutely insufferable, actually paid attention to anything beyond listening to himself talk, and actually put in as much work as he played at, he might actually be decent. As it stood, however, he was insufferable, was astoundingly unaware of what was going on around him, and was more concerned with looking like an ace detective than actually being one.

At the end of a meeting with a client, Link leaves an unassuming, mysterious business card somewhere the client will find it. It's not like he shouldn't spread the word if he's going to be out interacting with people, right?

While the detective goes on and on as they walk down the sidewalk, relating to his protegé the 'thrill of the chase' (if he's ever actually experienced it), Link stops to show you a picture. ]

Excuse me— Would you have happened to see this man? I'm looking into his disappearance.

[ Just ignoring the detective for now. Link actually doesn't mind detective work, he finds, and the other man isn't doing any of it anyway. ]

[ Okay, these little machines were getting out of hand. Link didn't know what they were, or what they were supposed to do, but the ayakashi responsible for this had a terrible sense of humor. Link was having a hard time stepping close enough to them to dispatch them with his knives without the knives nicking at his ankles. If he could figure out some kind of epicenter... ]

We need to find where the machines are most concentrated... But where...?

[Johan holds back a laugh, a bright smile on his face as he steps up to help Link.]

Just talk to the kid. [The smile softens, turning to look at the little boy.] You can't be embarrassed to try and talk to them.

[Well she's got a medical mask over her mouth and walking stick in hand and she's still not entirely sure she's up for this. She looks highly skeptical, tapping her stick against the ground in a way that suggests agitation]

I still don't see how I'm going to be able to help. [Except she does, she's just reluctant to admit to it. She can see the trail of 'magic' ('otherness,' maybe?) left behind by the ayakashi, though this one is fading fast. In an actual fight she might be useless, but she can do this much.]

...This way. [She mutters to herself, turning to follow the trail. 'Tap, tap, tap' goes her stick, despite the fact her eyes are clearly intent on something, moving to follow the line of the trail as she moves with clear purpose.]

[Roombas]

[What a way to learn what the fuck a roomba is.

It's fortunate that they're possessed by ayakashi, otherwise Oree never would've seen them and her poor ankles would be 10x worse off. But they are, which is why Oree doesn't waste any time in hurrying up when it looks like a roomba's about to have an unfortunate collision with someone's ankles, whacking it away with her walking stick.]

I should've stayed home today... [Sigh.

Despite her batting the roomba away, a non-possessed stabby-roomba goes unnoticed by her completely, even as she 'looks' around and her eyes pass right over it.] Who decided to put knives on the- [Oree cuts herself off with a yip of pained alarm, jumping back and swinging the stick wildly in the general direction of the roomba until it makes contact and sends it spinning away.

She hisses in pain and crouches down to observe the damage-- just a little nick, thankfully, but sheesh that smarts.]

OOC Note: Oree is very obviously blind, but she can 'see' magic or when magic is involved. So gods and shinki she'll be able to see, and anything touched with magic she'll be able to see for as long as the magic lasts.

Also she's a demon, or at least is a descendant of some, so if your character can pick up on things like that go for it!]

[Nunnally's only advantage at this moment is that since she's in a wheelchair, the roombas can't reach her feet. She reaches out with one hand toward her goddess though, trying to find a shoulder. She's most useful as a vessel, she knows that, but right now she wonders what else she can do. It's not like she can speak nice enough to the roomba and make it stop.]

It sounds like a... machine? But it cut you somehow? I do not understand why anyone would leave such a device where people could accidentally get hurt.

[She's not sure the knives weren't there before they got possessed, that's the thing.]

[Apollo is lingering outside the infected area. She honestly has no interest in going into the district. It's foolish and she's not going to risk her neck for strangers. Still, it's probably best to stay guard and keep idiots from entering in.]

You're not going in. [She says this firmly. Maybe they'll listen, maybe they'll fight. It doesn't really matter in the end.]

3. Roomba Roomba

[Apollo has managed to flip one of the vacuums onto it's back. Her heel has done quite a bit of damage and it's finally stopped moving. Who knew stomping a Roomba like a bug was effective? She takes off the knife, testing the sharpness on her finger.]

This seems rather ineffective, doesn't it. [She says this to herself as she eyes the area for more of the robots.]

[ Yona stood on the edge of a quiet shaded road, a newspaper clutched loosely in her hands as she glanced around at her surroundings. It's quiet here, with very few people passing by, but this was the place stated in the obituary - the location where, years ago, a car had skidded on a rain-slicked road and resulted in the death of a young boy. A young boy whose obituary had shown up repeatedly in the newspapers of late, with no explanation the people here could find.

It's why she was here, in part, although she's not quite certain how she is to proceed. There is much about this world that is still strange and confusing for her. And locating the ghost of a child who should have passed on ages ago is not something she's ever been called on to do before.

At least she's not here alone, something she's grateful for as she glances over at the person accompanying her, giving them a game smile. ]

Do you have any ideas on where we should start looking?

[ Dispatched on this prayer to deal with ayakashi, she hadn't really given much thought to what they were here to dispatch until she catches sight of the weaponized Roombas wrecking havoc in a street while people yelled and darted hastily out of their range. Even seeing them, she's not entirely sure what they are and she stands there in surprised fascination, one hand lifted to her lips as the Roombas zip around in varying directions in the street ahead. ]

This... this is what we are here to fight? What are they?

[Zeno's answering smile is dimmed slightly to reflect the somber nature of the task. It's more a smile of reassurance than of actual happiness, just because he's not looking forward to what they may find out-- he and this ghost are opposite extremes, after all. Dead after a short life and still living after a long one.

But even if they tell him he's a god, he is more certain than ever that he is here to follow Yona.]

Aah... how to put it... [He's usually quite good at spotting ghosts, but since he's never discussed that particular talent with Yona... he doesn't know if that would unnerve her or not, though he rather doubts she'd be frightened, given the things he's seen her step up to do by now.]

Zeno thinks there's a reason it was the obituary being reprinted, and not, say, his grave marker coming to life! He wants us here, where he died, not where he lived or where his body was laid to rest. But anything more specific than that... Miss can guess as well as Zeno can.

[Well, Canale did say no, but a certain someone didn't want to accept no as his answer. So now the detective is fallowing him, chattering on about his various accomplishments and how honored Canale should be that the man asked him to be his assistant and not listening at all to Canale's protests or the fact that he's constantly trying to walk away from him.

Unfortunately, having to navigate around other people and objects means he can't walk as quickly as he'd like to, or he probably would have lost the man already. But it does mean he's looking quite harassed, and it's also difficult to avoid bumping into every single person he come across...]


Radical Roombas

[He's encountered quite the learning curve since waking up here, not the least because of things like this. What even are these things? No creature he can think of sounds or moves quite like these, so they must be machines like the horseless carriages, but then what was the point of them...

Thankfully, it's easy enough to avoid them once he's figured out what to listen for, but how much space he needs to give them is something he's still working on when one of the sharper ones decides to come straight at him.]

Ah--!

[He dodges as soon as he feel the sharp pain in his ankle and successfully gets away from it, but it almost certainly drew blood. He furrows his brow in thought as he kneels down to check the damage with his fingers. Those things are more dangerous than he'd thought...]

Before you even have a chance to turn around, though, there's a gas mask thrust over your shoulder, for you to take. Just in case the hint to do so isn't taken, the extended hand gives an imploring bob of it. ]

Careful, careful!

[ This entirely strange man wearing a gas mask and equally bizarre attire toddles up and delivers a swift kick to.... the armed roomba whirring toward your ankles!! A 'whoop!' echos past his covered mouth, as his boot makes contact.

The little machine takes to the air and flips a few times rather spectacularly, before crashing flat onto its back. It stills. ]

Shame on you, Robot-san! [ He scolds with a huff, gloved hands coiled into little fists...

But then, he stands upright to address you, demeanor changing entirely! For some reason you're getting the impression that he's giving you a sunny smile, despite the fact that you can't see it. Maybe it's the sparkles shining about him? Which you're probably not entirely sure are actually there. Weird. ]

I hope you're okay! That was really close... Scary!

Ah– [ Blindsided by his appearance as well as his help, Ruby's fingers fumble to find purchase on the mask, which somehow leads to her feet losing purchase on the ground. She stumbles forward, pauses to take a brief look at the mask, then turns over her shoulder with a reluctant smile. ]

Uh... Th...anks? Is this like your power or something or do you just carry these around for fun? Because for the record I am totally okay with either of those things.

[ InuYasha double took the first time it happened, and then it continued to happen. Then it continued some more. Then some more, until finally InuYasha was done watching the scenario recycle itself in an endless loop. The angered teen stomped over to the kid, glaring fiercely. Maybe some should intervene? ]

{ II: Radical Roombas }

[ Even if InuYasha did have his memories, he wouldn't have handled this any better than he's handling it now. All his time spent in Kagome's world may have regressed, but nothing would have ever prepared him for this. The annoyed half demon had about enough of these strange things going around with sharp daggers taped to them.

How would a barbaric half demon handle this situation you ask? Simple. By stomping on them, crushing the small roombas to smithereens. InuYasha growled subtly when one nicked his leg, and he retaliated by lunging over for it. InuYasha grasped it firmly and chucked to what's supposed to be a nearby wall so it will break. Hopefully no one walks into the crossfire. ]

Stupid thing!

[Dust's reflexes have him hitting the deck in a roll just moments before the roomba can bean him straight in the face. He flips up to his feet in a slight crouch, free hand lifted and his sword held slightly out from his side in readiness.]

[ Elfnein had taken on the task of finding the little ghost boy that was printing the same obituary over and over. She didn’t want to let them be all alone when they could have a friend and not be so sad; so off to a local park for now since that’s where children would normally gather or that’s what Elfnein read in books anyway. ]

[ Well someone thought taping knifes to things would be funny, however Elfnein isn’t finding this funny as now she’s being chased by one of the now stabby roombas. ]

Hibiki had alighted on the Near Shore, gracing it with her divine presence, to answer a prayer from a young mother for respite from the tiredness looking after her small child caused. The mighty god had appeared in splendor, promising a diversion the likes of which the world had never seen -

And promptly abandoned, with thanks for answering the babysitting ad.

A crowd of children has gathered, and is laughing, at the stunningly attractive young person currently trying to shake a laughing toddler off her leg. Maybe the kid Elfnein is looking for is among them! ]

[It had become obvious pretty damn quick that putting a hand or his arm over his mouth and nose wasn't going to be enough. Kanji had managed to track down a gas mask, which reminds him a little too strongly of certain events back home-- but unlike the fog, which people had only believed to be hazardous, this really was a problem.]

'Couldn't possibly have happened.' Yeah, right. The folks in charge around here got their heads so far up their asses, they don't know what's goin' on.

[Of course, the authorities aren't exactly equipped to deal with ayakashi.]

Let's find this punk and take 'im down!

[Time to pound a demon into dust-- you know, if that's physically possible.]

Omnipresent Obituary

[Kanji has lost count of the number of times he's read through this same obituary-- it's been showing up day after day for weeks now, but it's not just the fact that it's outdated that bugs him. He frowns, dropping down to take a seat on a nearby bench as he looks the obituary over again for the umpteenth time.]

It ain't right, you know? He's just a kid. An accident like that is already bad, but that just makes it even worse.

[Nevermind the fact that he's now an attention-seeking ghost. His frown deepens, causing his eyebrows to knit together, and he looks over to whoever just so happens to be nearby-- stranger or otherwise.]

Hey-- how d'you cheer up a ghost kid?

Radical Roombas

[Rather than wait for the roombas to do more damage than they already have, Kanji has decided to take the fight to them, shinki or no shinki. For the most part, the roombas don't seem to be really hurting anyone-- at least not the ones with knives. Stabby, on the other hand? If they were just regular roombas, it would probably just be annoying, but the involvement of ayakashi means that it's going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better.]

Man, and I thought some of the Shadows I'd seen back home were stupid--!

[The threat is punctuated by his using a recently-commandeered skateboard to smash one of the offending vaccuum cleaners, the impact causing the roomba to sputter and grind to a halt as some of its smaller parts fly loose. The blow isn't enough to defeat an ayakashi, no, but it sure as hell feels good to lay into these suckers.]

Alright! More where that came from!

[ There is an outraged shout from somewhere nearby as an irate redhead rounds the corner and spots Kanji fighting Roombas in the street. He stalks forward, jabbing an angry finger in the other boy's direction, looking completely ready for a confrontation out of nowhere.

...Or almost out of nowhere. ]

[ Oh right, the skateboard. Because that's clearly what's important here. ]

[ Here stands Tsubasa, right on the edge of the quarantine, hand wrapped around the police tape. She sniffs the air after some hesitation, but sighs when she realises there wasn't any point. ]

It's not as though neurotoxins usually smell of anything. But at least the dead don't have anything to fear from something like that.

[ That's probably how it works. Probably. Time to jump the barrier and figure out what's going on! ]

ROOMBAS

Knives aren't meant to be used like this.

A. Omnipresent Obituary

[ In all honesty, taking away the man's memories hadn't changed quite a few things. Including the fact that he wasn't much of a reader, so much as the type to stroll around and come across the big things that were happening. In this case, the man dressed as a bartender had been walking along the streets to take in the sights when a child had run into him, refusing to let go. Either of his leg or hand, depending on whether they were on the sidewalk or crossing the street.

When no one else around seemed to react or find this strange, Shizuo surmised that maybe this was some weird dead people stuff.

Which is why he accepted his new attachment when walking around to find someone else involved with the- uh- shore stuff that he doesn't completely get. If they react to him, then clearly they're involved, right? How's he supposed to know that somehow he just happened to get the kid that was constantly in the papers. ]

[ It was more of an 'order' that he try and do something with this job. After all, being a shinki meant he didn't have to be the one worrying about followers, but it'd be a pain in the ass if things were made difficult for his god(dess). Something like that.

However, he couldn't really think of anything when standing at the microphone. Which left the blond staring over the audience with a lost 'uh' sound. The only thing that came to mind was a bad wordplay thing that he must've heard somewhere in the past. Well, it's bad to him because he doesn't completely get it. Telling it isn't really all that great either, because the man has no concept of building up a story or keeping confident.]

So, uh. There's this guy named Watanuki. Normally he's pretty serious, but- uh- whenever the subject of his birthday comes up, they always think he's being foolish.

III. Radical Roombas

[ It legitimately took 15 minutes before Shizuo noticed that there was some thing near the ground stabbing at his ankles. In fact, it wasn't until a third joined in as he was walking around, and had gotten stepped on. ]

The hell is all this?

[ While things are cut up and bloody enough to slightly soak the black pants where they made contact, it seems that several cuts where his achilles tendon has little effect. Even more, there doesn't seem to be anything deeper than a scratch that a cat could make. ]

[ Though before he gets further, his temper and feet act before he really realizes it. A single punt along the underside of another of the roombas sends it flying like a soccer ball off towards a building. Or towards someone. [ The minute one of them gets close enough, Shizuka brings down his foot down with enough force to crack it. It whirrs pathetically underfoot, weakly trying to free itself from under his foot to no avail.]

[On the other hand, this feels much better for his body. Pulling out a long metal pipe and using it to smash the tiny cleaning robots. It actually feels kind of good.

1) Pretentious Partner

If it was a choice between helping him or hurting him, then this was going to hurt.

The pretentious gumshoe had made one too many quips at Sesshomaru's expense. The God had one of his hands wrapped dangerously tight around the humans throat, claws grazing lightly against his flesh, but not yet having fatally broken the skin.

Sesshomaru looked unconcerned at the mans struggles, as the man's limbs thumped weakly against his grasp. If there was a Shinki around to advise him, perhaps the detective wouldn't lose his life today, otherwise Sesshomaru held no qualms against ending the mans life now.

After all, he was a god, and gods could do no wrong.

The dog demon was becoming quite vexed. This ayakashi shouldn't have been this difficult to locate, but smelling him out through the smog of this accursed city was proving to be a trial. There was present a tingling in his mouth and limbs, and perhaps in-perceptible to all but the most observant, his movements had begun to become slowed and sluggish. It was quite a potent creature.

Wait. There. So small, but sure enough, the ayakashi was bobbing dangerously close to the head of another unfortunate soul come to investigate. Drawing his blade, the demon lunged, paying no heed nor warning to the bystander.

[Her horn glitters golden as Celestia steps into the contained zone, and before her a faint wall of light gently spreads forward, pushing the noxious gas away to form a safe path through it.]

[She offers a gentle smile to her partner, then takes her first steps forward.]

[This will be easy enough to handle, thinks Celestia as she looks on the field of Roombas all rattling and clattering around like a taping of Battlebots. All she has to do is dispel the Come To Life spell that animates these objects and they will subside to harmlessness.]

[In a brilliant flare of magic, Celestia tosses out the potent counterspell to put an end to the magic around her. Such is the power of the spell and the necessary concentration that she almost doesn't have time to dodge before one of the Roombas runs right up to her. She scatters backwards in a flurry of hooves, just barely avoiding a gash to her fetlock before her wings spread and she puts on a few feet of height into the air.]

[ He runs through the field of roombas chasing after a butterfly utterly unaware of the danger until his foot meets a knife drawing blood. The five year old instantly jumps in the air, holding onto his small foot for dear life as he lands on his head on another knife-roomba that is now sticking out of his afro and Lambo tries so very hard not to cry. ]

Gotta.... [ his lower lip quivers ] stay.... [ his eyes start to water ] calm....

[ He wails, his little body shaking as tears blind his vision and amid his cries of pain he's desperately pulling out something from his afro and - is that a bazooka?! - The bleeding boy immediately jumps into the canon and using his little cow-tail pulls the trigger. Smoke instantly fills the area and when it clears, a fifteen year old boy lays amid the wreckage blinking up the stranger nearby. ]

And yet, she speaks in a simple tone that almost makes it sound like she were doing her partner a favor, if it wasn't so apparent that she simply doesn't feel like putting out any actual effort! After all, with her ability she can manipulate air as she has already to get them this far, but it's tiring and she refuses to put forth more effort unless she has to.

For someone who dresses as a maid, it almost seems like she should be a bit of a harder worker, doesn't it? ]

[ As things happened, somehow Ram found herself behind a microphone in a dimly lit bar that she is probably not even supposed to be in considering she's still just 18. Not that she cares. No, she was given a task and so for the sake of her God she will accomplish it, and then reap the rewards. If there's one thing she will actually work hard towards (well, in her own skewed scale anyway) it's towards being praised for the genius she is.

Stepping up to the microphone she holds herself as calmly and elegantly as one might expect of a girl who prides herself on her skills as a maid. And yet, maybe she should do a little better job at not looking down at the audience like she were some sort of dictator, with that smug grin on her face. ]

[ While a bunch of Roomba's terrorize the streets with their honestly hilariously taped on knives, Ram has found herself a spot sitting on top of the nearest vending machine with her legs crossed, drinking from a can of coffee without a care in the world.

Those Roomba's are probably dangerous, whizzing this way and that, with the odd cry of pain from some poor person who walked into one at the wrong time, but she doesn't seem bothered at all. If anyone might ask why she's not doing anything about it, there's a simple answer. ]

Why should I stop them? They make less work for me. I should take one back home with me.
