March Events!

We are pleased to announce that March will feature TWO events!


Power Palette Swap

• OOC Dates: March 1st - March 8th
  
• IC Dates: April 15th - April 18th
  
• OPTIONS:
  
  1. Swap Powers with another character!
     
  2. Gain one (1) new power for the duration!
     
  3. Swap appearances with someone - hairstyle, eye color, species, age, etc.!
     
  4. Depower your character completely!
  
  
• NOTE: This does NOT include swapping God/Shinki roles or gaining/losing memories.

Fourth Wall Event

• OOC Dates: March 16th-March 24th
  
• IC Dates: April 22nd - April 26th
  
• WHO? Any character! OCs, CRAUs, anybody! Doesn't have to meet the criteria of an appable character to the Far Shore. This is OPEN to any player, including those who are not currently in the Far Shore game!
  
• Gods or Shinki? The player bringing their character in is welcome to have their character experience partial or full memory loss, but they will not have the power set of Gods or Shinki.
  
• HOW? The Fourth Wall characters will appear on the same day that the Intro Log will be going up.

You get a bonus reminder this month! Please turn in your AC and HMD if you haven't already! In approximately 24 hours or so from the time of this announcement, the official AC Warning List will go up. Any characters on the AC Warning List will no longer receive their AC Bonus to Tag Counts.

Here it is, the big day when Amaterasu is calling upon everyone to strike at a single location as hard as possible. All they know going in is that the compound might be significant to the cultists. Please feel free to use this post to plot accordingly!

Event Bonuses

There will be 10 exp / 100 followers awarded for High Walls or Booby Trap threads with at least 10 comments, then another 25 exp / 250 followers for a conclusion in that thread which successfully demonstrates breaching the compound, avoiding or defeating whichever impediments are being tackled.

There will be 20 exp / 200 followers awarded for First Fight threads with at least 15 comments.

There will be 30 exp / 300 followers awarded for Second Fight threads with at least 15 comments.

The Good Old Days
IC: July 15-July 17
OOC: May 16



The strange tremors echoing throughout the Heavens have been getting worse and worse. The air is palpably disturbed and those who are sensitive to time travel shenanigans can tell that something is disrupting the continuum.

All of it will come to a head in the late night of July 15. Anyone still awake past midnight will feel the shock wave that rips through the Far Shore, whereas those who are asleep will have no idea what's happened until they wake in the morning. It seems like the flow of time has been thrown completely out of whack! Some people are older than they were and some are younger.

TL;DR it's an age swap event! Participation in the aging up or down is not required and you can go whichever way you'd like!

Additionally, there will be a training log going up this month at the same time - it will become a monthly occurrence from this month on. Keep an eye on the monthly announcements to see what else is changing because of this.

A Whole New World

Very suddenly, with no warning at all, gods will feel that there are shrines dedicated to them somewhere outside of Japan. That's right, shrines are popping up in the homelands of the gods and calling out for their gods to visit! You'll be encouraged to go visit the places your gods originated from and bring along your shinki and any friends who might want to visit as well. The respective pantheons have been contacted and warned about the visits, so there's nothing to worry about upsetting the local gods.

At the same time, there are whispers of rebellion that have become louder with the widening of the world view. Some familiar flyers can be found around the Heavens and all of the new shrines, sporting the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu."

The Beach Episode

After dealing with the unfortunate craziness that was the parade of the dead, it's no surprise that the Heavens have seen fit to throw a little party for everyone. They haven't put too much of their own effort into it, but they have reserved a private beach on the Near Shore in order for everyone to have a good old-fashioned beach party.

Bring your own swimsuit and if you don't have your own, one can be provided for you! Though, the Heavens only have some old suits from various points in history, so you might wind up wearing something weird. Of course, there will be a barbecue later in the day that everyone is encouraged to help with and bring food for.

And who knows? You might even get to meet a special guest at the party.

Relief and Rescue

The people of Japan are no strangers to natural disasters and dealing with the aftermaths. The recent demon attack managed to affect not only the small town where the demon emerged, but also a number of surrounding towns. Its horrible influence spread in such a way that it is now being hypothesized by the scientists of the Near Shore that there was a bacterial outbreak of some sort and that many of the people affected need to be treated.

Seeing as this is essentially cleanup for a task that they've already undertaken, the Heavens have seen fit to send any willing gods and shinki in to help with the relief efforts and to clean up some of the literal messes that are still hanging around after the demon's defeat.

Sakura 2.0: You Can (Not) Have A Picnic

There has been a request made to Amaterasu to revisit the cherry blossoms before they all blow away, and with recent events the Heavens have decided that something simple and relaxing like a picnic is just the thing to help people get over the destruction and chaos. So they have decided to hold a picnic among the sakura trees in order to help placate their newer gods and shinki.

But that's not all! The Heavens will be represented at the picnic as well in the form of Amaterasu's advisers. They will be participating in the festivities for the first time since the new arrivals showed up. Hopefully nothing will go wrong~

High School Debut
IC: All day April 5
OOC: July 15



With the coming of April comes the start of a new school year. Unfortunately for one school, days after the school year has started, a number of their teachers have fallen gravely ill. So many teachers, in fact, that the school is running out of substitutes to make up for all of the missing faculty!

That's where you, the gods, come in. There have been hundreds of prayers sent up by the faculty members - sick and healthy alike - to help them get through the opening of the school year so that their students don't wind up giving up too early on in the year. As a result, the Heavens have a request for all of the older-looking residents of the Far Shore:

Go be a teacher!

Additionally, it seems that the Heavens have gotten wind that this 'illness' that has suddenly struck the staff seems to not be natural at all in its cause. They want you all to find out what is causing the sickness and get rid of it. So younger-looking Far Shore residents can get in on the action too by posing as students that have just started a couple of days late!

The special added bonus here is that any god with over 3,000 followers will be able to find a student that they can perform a divine possession of, meaning they can take over the body of that student and pose as them for the entire day. Whether you choose to do so or not is entirely up to you.

Too Much Chocolate
IC: All day March 15

With White Day having just passed, the Heavens have come to the realization that there is just too much chocolate left over all around Japan. Maybe it's because there weren't as many boys giving chocolate this year or maybe there just weren't enough girls around, whatever the case may be there are dozens upon dozens of boxes that the Heavens are asking gods and their shinki to help get rid of.

It would seem like a simple task, certainly, except for two small things: first, the Heavens have expressly stated that the chocolates are to go to residents of the Near Shore, meaning that gods and shinki cannot indulge themselves to help out, the chocolates must be gifted to humans; and second, there seems to be something decidedly wrong with all of the chocolates being handed out, though the Heavens will argue that they had no idea about that at the time that they asked for help passing it all out.

What exactly is wrong with the chocolates will be revealed when the event post goes up.

Tokyo In Trouble
IC: Evening February 24 - Afternoon February 25

It's about time that all of the gods and shinki were forced to test their mettle and learn the hard way just how difficult fighting the ayakashi can be. Especially when they are crashing down on you in wave after wave of disgusting, distorted souls and feelings.

On the evening of February 24 (IC), a giant rift to the Underworld will burst open suddenly, smack in the middle of Tokyo, letting loose thousands of ayakashi onto the city who will then wreak havoc on everyone and everything that they touch. Something of this level has never been witnessed before by the Heavens and they will understandably panic and simply send out every god and shinki they can get their hands on - including the newbies who will be showing up just in time for this chaos!

To participate in the event, you will just need to comment to the event/intro log after it goes up on March 15 at 7PM EST. The number and level of ayakashi that your team will encounter will be randomly generated by the mod team (ranging between 10 and 100 encounters for each team). The level of injury your character takes will be entirely up to you, but please note that no one should die during this event.

And don't worry if you would like to get CR with someone other than your god/shinki or some of the new characters - there will be prompts available for that as well. After all, there will need to be some patching up done after the battles and some people will need help finding their way around in the beginnings of the chaos.
