July Announcements

Here we are again, bringing you the news of Near and Far Shore events for the month of July!



Happenings

The Near Shore

Students are finally out of school for the summer, and the hot, humid weather is shortening everyone's tempers. It's time to find yourself a fan and a cool drink to get through the hottest part of the summer.

• Traveling families have absolutely packed trains and airports.


• Students are still working hard at their club activities.


• Fireworks illuminate the night on the Near Shore as festival season approaches Obon, the biggest holiday of the summer.

The Far Shore

Even the Heavens are uncomfortably warm, and the drone of cicadas is deafening. Many gods are busy helping with the preparations for Obon and ensuring safe passage for spirits, so it's harder to find the old gods around this month.

• Thanks to lots of hard work, Amaterasu's temple is starting to look much better, although construction is ongoing.


• Fireflies twinkle in the forest that appears and disappears around the Far Shore, luring passersby in with the promise of shade.


• The shinki satisfaction survey has been released! It's time to let your god know exactly what you think of them... good or bad.

Noteworthy Ayakashi

Those short tempers may have some help from something other than the heat.

• Ayakashi are clustering around the crowded train stations. One centipede ayakashi in particular sneaks along the train tracks, inflaming travelers' tempers and starting fights.


• A glittering butterfly ayakashi is descending on hardworking students at their club practice, stoking their fear of failure and making them work until they collapse.

Here you can see the weather starting on August 1.

Event

Season Spirits

August is the season of Obon, the festival of the return of the spirits of deceased friends and family to visit the living... but this August, it seems like spirits of all sorts are popping up everywhere! On the Far and Near Shores, everything from normal household objects to haunted houses is acquiring a brand-new spooky lease on life.
