TEST DRIVE # 23

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!
Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.
Waste removal has become an intense process in many cities in Japan. Because the sorting of different trash can be very complicated, some residents just end up saying to heck with it. However, the neighbours are vigilant, and heap curses upon those who break the rules. Putting out the wrong thing on the wrong day, mixing plastics with the burnables, putting out the biodegradables the night before, which attracts crows that scatter the rotting food all over the place… the infractions are many.
Will you join in cursing the ones who can’t follow the rules, or perhaps instead gracefully try to mend their ways?
For the last 20 years, Hanako has worked faithfully at her cleaning job, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, without a single day off.
The momentous achievement was celebrated with her coworkers, but it was unanimous among them that Hanako really should take some time off! But the woman is stubborn, and is completely unwilling to take the time offered. (What would she do with herself, even?)
All her friends and coworkers can do is pray that someone can convince her to take a well-earned rest… It might take some heavenly intervention.
While crows are famous for being clever, there seems to be an insect following in their footsteps. Rhinoceros beetles have been getting in everywhere. It’s late in their lifespan and people are generally hoping the lot of them die off soon, but in the meantime people have been coming home to find the large beetles getting into every room, even when they’re carefully closed up. Probably the only ones thrilled with this are kids who like to collect the bugs for fighting matches.
Residents of the Far Shore will be able to see that there are beetle-like ayakashi running with the mundane ones, and they seem to be on the hunt for something.
Try to figure it out, protect the kids who might mistake an ayakashi for a real rhinoceros beetle, or kill every bug
John’s girlfriend Julie says she loves him, but she’s up and left for another guy named Gordon. Julie is cruel, heartless, a slut and a bitch! Gordon thinks he’s tough (so what if he’s bigger, better looking and more trendy than John) but he’s actually a moron, a cheap creep and a puff!
John is now desperately wanting someone to deck Gordon the moron good. Preferably smashing his face in. Help Jilted John out?
King Koopa, a stout, shorthaired two-year-old tabby, is headed straight for YouTube fame as a video-game-playing cat. Or he was, until, just last week, he completely lost interest in the keyboard. His desperate owner has been trying everything: bird screensavers, a catnip mouse, even treats hidden in the keys... but nothing brings back Koopa's love of the game. Is he just camera shy? Feeling blue? His owner needs divine intervention to help teach a young cat his old trick!

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!

[If she hadn't picked up on the fact that he thinks this guy is a creep maybe he'd doing a decent job of hiding it from the guy least that cause more trouble.]
If you say so. I'll take your word for it, Marinette.
[Leading her away he's purchasing them each a drink offering one to her.]
Right. Maybe not watch him then. But maybe check in every now and again. I don't like how that guy acts. Especially when it comes to that girl. I honestly don't blame her for bolting. He's super disrespectful.
no subject
[No, he's definitely not the only one who thought John was a creeper, but she was not going to bring that up for obvious reasons.]
Would I lie to you, Adrien?
[Well, maybe not technically. But wasn't an omission of the truth just as bad? Still, she couldn't even feel badly about that because it was much better than the alternative. If that ever happened, she was sure it would kill her.]
That sounds like a reasonable plan. I feel like he's probably not emotionally mature enough to be with someone. And yea, his attitude just rubs me the wrong way.
[Which was, simply put, amusing, coming from a fifteen year old, but maybe let's not dwell too hard on that.]
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
No. Well, I mean I can't think of a reason for it.
[Adrien chuckles.]
Coming from us that sounds pretty horrible you know. I mean... we're still pretty young and if even we can see how childish he is it's got to be pretty obvious, right?
[He tilted his head to the side, sipping at his drink, idly toying with his ring.]
no subject
[It was certainly a relief to see that she was still sometimes awkward around the boy even in their current circumstances.]
I would never do that.
[For the most part, she's pretty grateful for the subject change.]
I guess it probably does sound terrible coming from a couple of kids. I'm not even sure how old he is, but obviously he still as a lot of growing up to do.
[Rather than think too much more about it, she decided to get started on her drink, though she chose to keep her mouth shut as she watched him worrying Chat's ring.
Nope. Not commenting on that. Not even gonna think about it.]
no subject
[He grinned at her nodding.]
I know. You're a good person.
[Adrien gave a little laugh shaking his head. When he speaks it's soft.]
Well, we're not too young to know what it's like to want to be something more to someone than we might be. I guess some guys kind of stall out on growing up.
[Adjusting his ring he flashes her a grin a flicker of confidence sparking in those bright green eyes.]
Thank goodness we're not all like that, right, My Lady?
no subject
[There really just weren't enough words to properly describe how happy she was to hear that. It probably seemed ridiculous, but she needed him to know she'd never lie to him.]
Thank you. That means a lot to me.
[She's just shrugging and glancing over at John for a moment.]
No, I suppose we're not... And I think you might be right about that. But I don't think it's just guys. Some girls can be ridiculous like that too.
[Mari snorts at that thought and takes another sip of her drink... and somehow manages not to choke at his next comment.]
Y-yea! Thank heavens for small blessings.
[For a second, she hesitates and almost decides against saying anything else, but...]
I'm glad you're not like that.
no subject
[A wide smile tugs at his lips, happy and warm.]
I wouldn't say it if I didn't believe it with my whole heart, Marinette. You know that.
[He follows her gaze and nods.]
Oh no, girls do it, too. No doubt about it. I'm sure we know one at the very least like that.
[Eyes widening he's reaching out to pat her back lightly, concern etching itself onto his features; tension thrumming through him. And when he speaks there might be a hint of fear there and it's a tiny bit louder than it should be.]
Are you okay? What happened?
[Thought she's speaking again and Adrien exhales the pent up breath he'd been holding in a soft huff. His hand rubs along her back gently then comes to rest against his chest. It's on the tip of his tongue to tell her not to scare him like that. That he can't lose her. That she's his everything.
Which is true, to a Shinki a god is literally where things start and stop. Their wishes their command gospel and Adrien isn't the kind to have more than one or be disloyal. Marinette's temple is his home, she feeds him, clothes him - but it's more than that she cares about him, is warm and caring.
He'll cling to her, protect her, do anything she needs or wants just so he can keep that. he as no way of know that it's more than this that it started back home and isn't any less true there.]
I will never be like that. I- It seems wrong to try and force someone to love me.
no subject
[Instead of saying anything else, she just offers him a kind smile. It was, admittedly, kind of surreal to be having this conversation with Adrien, of all people. But she'd gotten used to the surreal being the new norm.]
I'm pretty sure everyone knows someone like that.
[She'd really just been trying to distract herself, and she supposed she should've been more careful. It wasn't the first time he'd called her that. Chat did it all the time, and she'd always been able to shrug it off. Why did it have to be different when Adrien was the one saying it?]
I'm okay! I just... swallowed wrong. Don't worry.
[But he was worried, and she couldn't help feeling guilty for causing that worry. When he withdrew his hand, she set her drink aside and pulled him into a hug.] I'm sorry for worrying you.
[What else was she supposed to say to that? What could she say? The truth was out of the question for obvious reasons. Mirroring his earlier actions, she's rubbing his back in what she hopes is a comforting manner and holding him close.
When he finally spoke up again, she had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing at the irony.]
You would never have to force someone to love you.
no subject
[He laughs softly then hums.]
I hope no one ever feels that obsessive about me. I feel like if someone really cared about you they'd be sad but still want you to be happy.
[He's blinking at her before giggling. Only his goddess. He knows she's clumsy. She's tripped over air before.]
How do you swallow wrong? Did you inhale when you took a sip or something?
[Suddenly, she's pulling him into a hug and Adrien tenses just for an instant. He may pitch his drink into a nearby bin just so he can wrap his arms around her. It doesn't matter he can buy another.] It's fine. You're not really hurt so it's okay.
[His fingers curl into the dark fabric a her back. Feeling her hand rubbing along his back he seems to melt into her tension ebbing out of him in waves. With the softest of sighs, his head comes to rest against hers, a low purr leaving his throat.
Some part of him tells him she's wrong. That he's fought and longed for love for a very long time. But there's warmth and comfort here and he wants to believe. She makes him want to.]
You wouldn't either.
no subject
That's the way I feel about it, too. I guess I just don't understand how he can claim to love her so much in one breath and then go on to act like... that without missing a beat.
[Oh thank heavens, he bought her half-assed explanation.] Mmm... that must've been what happened. But I'm good. Don't worry!
[She felt him tense up, and for a moment she worried she might've overdone it. But he was just as quick to relax, and she released a breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding. It wasn't the first time she'd hugged him, but normally she gave him a bit more warning than that, so she'd been slightly worried about crossing a line.] It'll take more than that to hurt me.
[Well, that sounded a little less comforting than it had in her head. She'd only intended to give him a quick hug to reassure him that she was fine. That there was no reason to worry.
And she'd done that. But the way he'd latched onto the back of her shirt and melted against her almost instantly made her want to just... hold him there for as long as he'd let her. But that would be pushing it. She was about to try and untangle herself when he leaned his head against her and purred.
Mari knew she should be the responsible one, but he made it incredibly difficult sometimes, and he didn't even realize he was doing it. Instead of pulling away, she found herself sliding a hand up to stroke his hair.]
You're right. I'd want... someone to love me on their own and not because they were forced into it.
no subject
[He laughs softly and smiles.] What am I going to do with you? Clearly you need supervision. [His tone is teasing and playful as he nods at this.] Don't worry I'll babysit you.
[Logically, he knows that if she were truly in danger she'd have done or said something to get his attention but it never hurt to be attentive either. What if there was a time she could't do anything? Best not risk it. But rather than press it all she gets is a soft - ] Okay.
[He shouldn't have done that and he's still weirded out by his purring thing but she's so warm and so kind. He can't help but want so bash in that gentle radiance that only comes to him in her presence. He's soaking it up like a sponge.
Feeling her hand starting to pet his hair, that redoubles the purring; it's louder and more obvious. His head is leaning, pressing into that touch. His own hands sliding along her back slowly. He wants to give her that same comfort but doesn't know how exactly.]
I can't see anyone not loving you, My Lady.
no subject
You have no idea. [It was a good sign that he was laughing, right? Either way, she had to bite her tongue to keep from blurting out an answer to that particular question. No need to make things ridiculous.] You're so good to me. That's kind of a full-time job.
[But amazingly, she'd actually been a lot less likely to trip over nothing since they'd come here. It was almost amusing. Still, she didn't want to worry him for no reason.
She decided not to comment on that soft little 'okay', mostly because she had no idea what to say. What could she say to that, honestly?] Thank you for being so sweet.
[Well, it could've been worse. It occurred to her that they probably looked ridiculous, but she didn't really care at the moment. He did seem more relaxed now, and that had been her main concern.
Still, the purring was nice, comforting, even and she finds herself combing her fingers through his hair, nails lightly grazing his scalp. She was absolutely pushing it now, but it seemed safe enough, and it wasn't like she was giving away anything.]
You'd be surprised.
[It'd been on the tip of her tongue to thank him for being so sweet, and then he'd hit her with that, and she was suddenly swallowing the lump in her throat and blinking away unshed tears.
She couldn't even ask him not to call her that because she knew he was just being respectful. It certainly wasn't his fault that it killed her a little bit every time he said it.] I think you might be a little biased, though?
no subject
[He nods slightly.] That's okay I know what I'm signing up for. I think I can handle watching over one person.
You're welcome? [Though he's not sure why he's being thanked. This is just natural. Just him being a decent person. And she's been nothing but amazing to him so he should return that in kind, right?]
[Those fingers running through his hair, her nails against his scalp; they make him shiver pleasantly. Happily, he's nuzzling at her shoulder and latching onto her even tighter to the point that he fears it might just be a bit too much. He forced himself to ease up.]
Then they're blind and don't deserve you.
[If he knew the words upset he this deeply he'd stop. If he knew he wouldn't ever let them pass his lips. He would find something else to call her. But he doesn't know so they'll just keep coming.] I don't really think so. You'd still be a good person even if you weren't my Goddess.
no subject
[That had her chuckling.] I'll make a deal with you, okay? You can watch over me, and I'll watch over you. [Even if he did get the short end of the stick on that one. Adrien had never been clumsy, as far as she knew.
So she realized that it was probably a bit silly to thank him for just being him, but she still felt the need to do so.]
Either way, it's good to know that not everyone is like that.
[She hadn't even thought twice about how familiar the gesture was until he was nuzzling at her shoulder and holding her tightly. Heat flooded her face and down over her neck, and she felt torn between wishing he would stop and wishing he wouldn't.
The decision was made for her a moment later when he relaxed his grip on her. And then she's just sighing softly at his words.]
What if I really want them to see me, Adrien? [This was okay. She hadn't really given anything away, other than the fact that there was a someone. Chances were slim that he'd work it out based on that alone.]
I was just teasing you. I can tell you're not the type to be biased, though I wouldn't mind if it was a little bit true. [Her tone was light and teasing, and she was smiling.]
That means a lot coming from you, minou.
no subject
A deal? What kind of deal? [He's always been rather curious after all. Listening to her, he's canting his head to the side before grinning.] I think I can agree to that.
[Though he feels kind of bad because she's been doing all this other stuff for him, stuff he just doesn't know; has no memory of ever doing. He knows his memory is off but...]
Not that anyone should be.
[He'd stay there forever but he's already stayed longer than he feels is proper so - he's drawing back, biting at his lower lip. His brows coming together at that question.]
Then make their eyes open. Make yourself seen, if not seen appeal to another sense - make yourself felt. Become a presence they can't ignore.
[He's nodding, cupping her cheek gently in his hand, thumb rubbing gently under her eye.] I know but I would never lead you a stray.
Minou. [He echoes the word softly and blinks at her. It's a word he knows. A word he remembers. In his head there's a flicker of green eyes a warm smile, slender fingers fluffing through his hair. 'Let's play a game, Minou. It makes his head hurt but he's holding on to the memory as long as he can before rubbing the heel of his hand against his throbbing temple.] I like it.
no subject
[She really hadn't been worried about him not going along with it. After all, he didn't really have to do anything much different than what he was already doing.] I'm glad to hear it!
[It had taken some getting used to, but she'd adjusted to this new life fairly smoothly. There were still some minor bumps, but that was probably to be expected.] Yea... I guess some people just don't know how to handle themselves?
[The irony of this was not lost on her. But he made a good point. She'd spent so much time second-guessing herself, and it had been exhausting, being unable to speak to him before. Being here seemed to have snapped her out of that for the most part, though she still had her moments.] That's... You're right! As soon as I figure out how, that's what I'm going to do.
[She's just smiling at him as he caresses her cheek. The novelty of such things has worn off enough to prevent her from turning into a blushing stammering mess every time, which is fortunate.] I know, and I'm grateful for that.
[Oh dear. It had just slipped out before she could stop herself, and now he looked confused.... or like he was in pain? Frowning, she shifted a little to gently rub his temples.] Sorry, it kind of slipped... But you were purring, and it was cute.
no subject
[Have a very familiar loud laugh.] Did you really think I'd say no? To you? How could I ever? More to the point why would I want to, My Lady?
[A shrug of his shoulders as he raises his hands in a classic I don't know either pose.] No clue but I suppose not.
Of course, I am! [He's agreeing enthusiastically, nodding.] I'm sure you will. I believe in you and I know you can do this. You'll be great.
Good. I don't see any point in being deceptive. [He doesn't think he even could be. Not to her. There's a warmth in his chest when she smiles at him like that.]
It's okay. It's not bad. I just had a flash and I tried to push it.. It's fine. You didn't do anything wrong. [And even if she had he'd forgive her instantly. Leaning his head into the touch of her fingers, his eyes close with a soft sigh.] Aw, you think I'm a cute little kitty. I'm okay with that but I draw the line at laser pointers.
no subject
[Her eyes are wide and she's fighting the urge to giggle at that ridiculous laugh.] I mean, you can say no to me, you know. And I wasn't sure, really. But I'm glad you agreed, either way.
[She's just shrugging too.] Oh well. It seems silly to worry about it for now. I mean we'll obviously have to keep an eye on this one- [She's gesturing over at John.] - but it shouldn't be too bad.
[Marinette is just shaking her head at him and smiling.] That makes me happy. The tricky part will be... y'know, figuring out how to take your advice. But I'm sure I'll come up with something!
[He'd never lied to her, as far as she was aware, but she couldn't tell him that. Adrien wasn't a liar, even without his memories, and that made her smile.] There isn't one that I'm aware of. I'd much rather have the ugly truth than a pretty lie.
[Well if he wasn't upset about it, she supposed there was no point in feeling sorry.] A flash...? [It was on the tip of her tongue to ask what kind of flash, but she wasn't sure if that would be going too far.] I'm just glad you're alright. And you sounded like an adorable little kitty just then, yea. So I suppose it fits! [She's just laughing at that.] No laser pointers. Don't worry.
no subject
[He grins at her giving a little shake of his head.] I know I can tell you no. I mean I have free will after all but I honestly don't want to. I like this. I like this life I have with you.
[Adrien follows her gesture with his eyes before nodding.] Yeah, there's really nothing we can do but make sure this one doesn't follow through with his nonsense - [There's a narrowing of his eyes, it's clear he still doesn't approve of John's actions - they don't sit well with him on a deep level he can't explain.] - It'll be fine, My Lady. I'm sure if it comes to that I can persuade him with a nice little chat.
[He blinks at that bright green eyes looking at her. Who could it be that she's so interested that she's so worried about reaching? Surely anyone would be happy to love and just as importantly, be loved by her.] I'm absolutely certain you'll manage. You're resourceful and clever. I'm sure you'll figure it out no matter how long it takes. Just don't rush.
Well, I mean I guess if you were lying for a good reason like a party or surprise it'd be okay but anything mean is just dumb.
[He nods.] A flicker of something.. [There's no need to lie to his God.] Green eyes and a smile, someone familiar but I don't know. [There's a crease to his brow as he pouts. He hates no knowing what he knows not that knowing knowing would change things.] Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry. W-Well, you were giving me affection - don't know why but I always purr when I'm comfortable, relaxed, and happy. [He grins, glad to see her worry ease. He doesn't want to worry her ever.] Thank you because I have a feeling that that would be embarrassing.
no subject
[She realizes she probably doesn't need to point that out, but she still felt the need to do so.] Good! I don't want you to ever feel like you have to agree with me just because of this arrangement. You're more than just my shinki, Adrien. We're friends, and I value your input. [And maybe she was being a little sappy, but whatever.] I like it, too.
I wonder how disappointed he is that we didn't go along with his original plan. [Not that that was going to change her mind, but she was curious.] You're right. [She notices that look, and for a second she's just staring. It was still sometimes unnerving how Chat-like he was without even meaning to be.] I know, and I'd like to hope that something like that won't be necessary.
[His confidence in her was comforting. Now if only she was able to somehow channel that and keep it for herself. Marinette supposed she was over thinking it, but she couldn't help it.] I know you're right. Maybe I'm thinking too much...
And yea, little white lies don't count for obvious reasons. It's just the ones that people use to intentionally hurt others that are pointless.
[She's tilting her head at him.] Huh. [The first thing that came to her mind was his green eyes, but if he was having flashes of them, she was going to assume it had to be someone else.] Just like a little kitty? [She was teasing now, and couldn't stop the grin that tugged at her lips.] I'd never do that to you.
no subject
[Adrien blinked at her before grinning.] I know. I know I can tell you anything and we can work our way through whatever disagreements we might have with a compromise like adults. [His expression softens.] You're my friend, too. Even if you hadn't been my god, we'd still be like this I mean I hope we would have. [That makes him happier than he can express.]
Don't know but it was stupid plan anyway. I wouldn't want to meet the jerk that'd go along with it either. [She's staring he can feel the warmth her gaze brings and he's turning to look at her. Was he making a bad face?] Me too but you never know with this kind of person. Best to keep our guard up.
[He swallows hard just watching her. Who doesn't want someone like her? Who could overlook her? Maybe he is a bit - see a lot - biased but lord anyone lucky enough to be loved by his goddess should be profoundly aware of their good fortune.] Maybe you are. You shouldn't have to do something to be loved.
[He nods.] I think it was a woman? I'm not sure exactly. [He huffs out a breath before leaning into her a bit.] At least you don't have to adopt a pet. I'll just be your kitty. [Grinning, he's nuzzling at her cheek.] You should be careful though. Kittens can be clingy, needy, and get jealous easy.
no subject
[It might have seemed odd of her to say, and she was pretty sure he knew all of that already, but she just wanted to make sure he knew it.] Good. And don't ever forget it, either. [That was probably unlikely, but she felt the need to say it regardless.] Yea. I think we would have been friends even if you hadn't been my Shinki.
I agree, even if we were technically here to help. I feel like the only thing we've accomplished is irritating him. But I don't feel bad about that. [Her eyes are widening in surprise when he catches her staring, and she offers him a sheepish smile.] He seems pretty calm now, but there's no telling what he'll do after we leave. You might be right.
[There was no doubt in her mind that she was over thinking it. But that was generally what she did when it came to Adrien. And that was usually why she ended up fumbling over her words. Or at least that had been the case in the past. Since finding out that he was Chat, though, it didn't seem to be as big an issue. Thankfully.] I know I probably don't have to do something specifically. But to be fair, I haven't even told the person how I feel. [Mainly because she wasn't entirely sure how to do so. She didn't want to just blurt it out, but...]
Don't force it. [She wasn't sure if shinki were supposed to remember things at random, and she also wasn't sure what would happen if they tried to force the issue, and she absolutely didn't like the idea of him accidentally hurting himself. And then she's just blinking at his next words, a happy smile lighting up her features.] You can be my kitty. ['Even though you already are, kitty', she added silently, reaching up to run a hand through his hair.] I'm not worried. I know you'll be a good boy.
no subject
[Adrien just nods at her seemingly content with this state of affairs. He is actually.] I have a very strong feeling you wouldn't let me. [He doesn't know how he knows that but he does.] I like that thought by the way. Being your friend regardless of everything sounds right somehow.
Let him be irritated. He'll either take action in which case we will, too. Or he'll realize what a cranky baby he's being and man up. [He's smiling warmly reaching to touch her shoulder delicately.] We'll just keep an eye on him either from here or from back at the temple. I'm sure we can just pop back if we need.
Maybe you should just tell him. Plainly. Especially since it's a guy. We can be kind of thick and it's best to just lay stuff out on front of us. Bluntly as you can. And if he doesn't accept you and your love then he's an idiot and I'll happily grab some of that ice cream and chocolate stuff you like and let you eat your pain way. [Adrien nods at this because he is very, very serious and if someone hurts his goddess he'll do that and maybe Chat will have a little chat with them too - that may or may not involve his baton or claws and a whole lot of hissing with a hint of fang.]
Nope. Thinking about it too much hurts. [Adrien gives a little pout, snuggling up against her. He's only had random flashes of things. Nothing that made sense at all. Nothing worth really mentioning before now. A glimpse of headphones, a ladybug charm, a bright yellow jacket.. just flashes of colors really.] Perfect. [He relaxes into he as her fingers run through his hair and his head settled on her shoulder for a moment.] I'll do my best, My Lady. Maybe we should go back home? Even if he's going to do something he won't do it knowing he's watched.
no subject
You're right about that. [She's just smiling at him, content in the knowledge that he knew that much about her, at least. It was comforting.] Me too. [Because they were friends before all this, but she can't tell him that.] Why wouldn't we be? We get along and we work well together.
[Mari's just nodding at that, because he's right. And she knows it.] Here's hoping he realizes what a brat he's being. [She was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, despite his previous behavior.] You're right. We can always make sure he's behaving.
[At that, she's just kind of staring. She's pretty sure that telling Adrien how she felt would be too close to telling him something he's not supposed to know, and there's no way in hell she's going to take that chance. If something happened to him, she's almost certain it would kill her. Seeing him die the first time (and the second time in a vision) had been hard enough.] I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice! [She's just shaking her head and smiling at that. He really was too good to her.] I do enjoy chocolate.
Don't worry, I'm sure it'll come back to you eventually. Without the pain. [Okay, so maybe she wasn't entirely sure how getting a shinki's memories back was supposed to work, but she wanted to believe it was possible to do so without them turning into a monster.] Don't be sad, kitty. It'll be okay. [She's content, for the moment, to run her fingers through his hair because it's obviously helping him to relax. And then she's glancing down at him with a smile.] That's all I ask for. Are you ready to go home?
