TEST DRIVE # 17

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Courtly Cadavers
Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.
In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.
There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.
Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~
Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!
giant man-eating goats..!
(Oh.)
Still, the yelp draws Allen from his own somewhat confused distracted thoughts as he was trying to debate how exactly... one... deals with goats the size of buildings... it's not like you can just. Fight them. It's a little weird even for him.
Which is also why after a moment Shion might notice he's not alone—and that another white-haired boy has appeared. The archangel-god settling down from seemingly nowhere at his side as lightly as a ghost—as white and seeming to glow softly as one too, wrapped as he is in an downy white cloak trimmed in gold, a mask of silver and gold nestled in the fluff. ]
Please try to hold on—
[ Such straightforward and polite concern...! Like he does this all the time.
And also the only warning Shion will get before Allen loops an arm around his middle and lifts him up. Be glad it's the right (and mostly human) one? ]
no subject
Shion can't do much else but gasp and stare wide-eyed at the figure that comes to his rescue. A god clearly- with the way he appears before his eyes and glows with some sort of supernatural luminescence.]
Ahhh!
[As soon as his toes leave the ground Shion just wraps his arms around the god and clings to dear life because what else can he do?]
... Thank... you! [He's sort of out of breath, one second.]

But, hup! Let's just hope for the best shall we. Now he could try and outrun them, but it would seem the goats that were already intrigued by Shion are even more intrigued by another, fluffier version. That sure is a lot of excited bleating.
Maybe he didn't really think this through........... ]
Ah. . .
2/2
A moment, please! [ Because one leap, two—please don't get sick Shion, he knows exactly how unsettling it is to get carried this fast
unfortunately—and he's cleared beyond eyesight of the goats. Probably by... a mile?Even Allen is a little surprised as he comes to a stop in a field. Is that how it was for Lenalee?
But sheepish is as sheepish does as he starts to set the other boy back on his feet and will help balance him if he needs to. Being very mindful and ginger with his left hand and will only help brace with the inside of his wrist.
It's a very large claw after all. ]
Are you alright?
no subject
He's never going to get used to gods doing godly things.]
... I'm alright. Thank you. I'm not sure I would have gotten- [Glancing up Shion catches sight of that claw and-] Ahh! Your- Your hand!!
[... Never going to get used to supernatural god things.]

2/2
...self-conscious, perhaps?
It's only very briefly though, because there's a faint flare of light, a brighter glow up along that arm, and cloak he had dematerializes. Arm (inexplicably?!) appearing quite normal and human if fully covered with white gloves. Just a (well-dressed; button-down shirt and a waistcoat) boy-god with strange hair and a mark on his face. ]
It's part of my ability. [ Head cocked to the side in a smile, he seems perfectly fine about it. I mean, haha, he probably gets it all the time, right? There's just—it's a little weak.
Like that of someone used to smiling all the time when they don't feel like it. ]
Sorry, I know it can seem a little strange.
no subject
But instead of trying to reassure or apologize for his exclamation of the god's claw he actually reaches out to take that gloved hand. He starts feeling and checking the through cloth and skin that the bones are normal and it indeed is a real hand in there.]
I don't find it strange, I find it really amazing, actually! Abnormal, but I've never seen anything like it before. How your body transforms like that... Have you always been able to adapt like that or is it an ability that you gained here?
[He's looking at it as a strange human mutation, really. Mutations are good, by the way. It means evolution. That is of course if it's not a god power.]
omg Shion you nerd
Not that Allen tries to pull back or protest. He just.. wasn't... expecting that?? Also because how is he even supposed to respond to that?!
A-amazing...]Oh, ah—
[ Forgive the stammer. Shion's managed to throw him a little off his game. This is not a normal reaction!!! Shinki notwithstanding this is not what he is used to!!!
But it's not.. bad? ]
I was born with it, actually... [ It's a little reluctant, but the boy-god seems a bit less fidgety. And what Shion will notice is that even if his hand looks normal with a glove—it doesn't feel that way at all. The fingers are rigid and bony, like he's wearing a gauntlet underneath, or like carapace on an insect. The band of skin visible before his sleeve is a deep blood red as well and like smooth leather. ]
It's called Innocence.
the biggest nerd fff
why would he be disgusted he's got an ugly red scar that runs from his cheek all the way to his ankleHe looks up at Allen and blinks. What an odd thing to name your hand.] Innocence? Is there a reason you call it that?
[Because right now he's thinking it's a gained characteristic due to previous generations. You know, Darwinism. He never knows with how many strange people he's seen here if things are supernatural or not.]
1/2
It's not that I call it that... [ Ahahaha—ha.
His nose scrunches a little at that. Stung pride? ]
It's what it is.
2/2
But he means well, so Allen will gently pull his hand free—but only so he might pop the clasp on his glove. It's easier to show than to explain—and he's had to explain it enough times in his life that he holds his hand in front of him, the back of it to Shion so that he might see the crystalline, golden cross smoothly embedded in the red skin there. It's.. actually vaguely demonic in appearance, with the plated appearance and long black nails.
And it's a very practiced gesture, as is the way that Allen speaks then. ]
Innocence is a weapon. One that chooses its hosts [ like a parasite, let's just slide past that ] and lets us— [ fight akuma. fight ayakashi—in a limited way. But Allen... hesitates briefly. Finding that, for the first time ever perhaps..
...not that accurate. In the.. year? he's been away from them. ]
...save souls. By cutting away the corruption around them.
It's what makes me an Exorcist.

well if he could remember everything with Elyurias he wouldn't be so perplexed and surprisedThe god seems unsure to share all this information but Shion is grateful for it. If he can understand the people here just a little more it would make things easier on him. Seeing someone with strange white hair and face markings makes him feel a little at ease. Maybe he's not so abnormal either?]
You must be a very strong god with an ability like that. You must be proud.
[He observes the hand. So different...]
