TEST DRIVE # 17



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

[Seeing dead bodies coming to life hardly registers to Toushirou. It’s something that isn’t particularly out of the norm for the shinigami, especially since after everything that has happened.

Nonetheless, he can’t really allow half-rotten corpses to walk around, so he prevents one of the corpses from getting close to a young lady, forcing them back.]

Go and rest in peace already. There’s nothing left for you here.

[He’s not sure if he’s able to send these spirits to peace, so talking to them is one way of going at it.]

Dark Deeds

[Toushirou pauses when he hears the accidents occurring, a soft sigh escaping from him as he leisurely jumps across rooftops to survey the damage.

His eyes narrows the moment he notices the spirit.

It’s enough for him to draw his zanpakuto, lowering his reiatsu enough to start to freeze the spirit in its tracks.]

Gohan is a bit bemused as he notices the giant goats. It’s enough to make him fly above them, just out of their reach, in order to get a better glimpse of them.

He rubs the back of his head, wincing when one of the giant goats ate another barn.]

[Riza has no reason to think anything is amiss at first. Sure she's passed several shops that look just alike multiple times now, but there are Starbucks on every corner in some towns, why not multiple versions of that bunny cafe? And maybe they all hire look-a-like staff?

[Shion accidentally bumps his shoulder against someone and turns to apologize. Unfortunately that someone turns out to be something. A dead body come back to life that is now turning back to him to take his hand and—

... Kiss it.

Shion’s eyes go wide and he struggles with what he should do. Pull away? Scream? Take a picture? Stare...?]

Please... Um...

[Endless Eight]

This is completely ridiculous. It makes no sense.

[Shion sighs and furrows his eyebrows. He’s sure he’s seen this café at least three times on his way back to his home temple. He turns to look up the normal looking street and then back down it. Is something playing tricks on his eyes?

Looking lost and a little perplexed, Shion continues down the street without another glance at the bunny girls. And sure enough he sees the same café again after a few minutes of walking.]

Something is playing a trick on me.

[Shion, do you not see those bunny girls waving at you?]

[Giant Goats]

[It’s not only the farmers that might need help dealing with the goats. It is Shion too. Shion’s abnormal white color hair and red eyes seems to have caught the attention of the goats and they’ve started chasing after him.]

A-Ahh!

[All Shion can do is run. which isn’t very fast because what is cardio The goats are gaining on him and who knows what will happen to him if they get him in their mouths or under their hooves. Help!]

[The moment Toushirou notices the poor boy running, he's quick to flash step towards him.

With a wave of his sword, he freezes the goats in their tracks before lifting Shion up effortlessly and flash stepping away - a good miles away from the goats.]

[ Teddie wasn’t sure how he even ended up here, or what people were talking about when they were going on about a god…but he certainly didn’t understand the weird get up these guys were in! Maybe Junes was having a really weird event? Wouldn’t be the first time…

Tilting his head, he noticed how polite and courteous the zombie-people were being so he thought he just had to be the same! ]

Thank you for the compliment, but a humble bear like me doesn’t know anything about gods or such! I’m actually looking for a friend of mine! He’s kind of tall and goes by “Sensei”!

[ Teddie had spent a good half hour wondering why everything in this place looked the same. When he finally noticed that he was just walking in a circle, he stopped and hopped from one section to the other, noticing how it just continued.

Frowning, he immediately looked around to see something that was different; trying to see if maybe someone he knew was having the same problem. Too bad a pair of blue eyes landed on a girl in a bunny suit. Teddie only grins and slides up to her. ]

You’re an unbearably welcome sight! Would you like to go on a date with me?

[ Pidge wasn’t sure how much how she could be with chores and cleaning, but when the lights started going out, she knew she could help in some way. Looking at the light, she was careful to open up the small console, trying to mess with the wires and get the light back on. However, as soon as she would get one on, she would see another one turn off. Grumbling, she immediately went to the next, and the next, until it was a street full of lights that she had fixed and then subsequently turned off.

Stomping her foot, she could feel the lights flicker with her own kinesis as she cursed. ]

Whoever you are, stop being a coward and fight me in an actual fight! You know…with computers and stuff!

[ Pidge was sitting in the line of potential candidates with new technology. While she is messing with the computer, her small, pyramid-like robot beside of it, she was eying the competition. Small robots, new phones…something with board and….a light? Either way, she wasn’t impressed. After all, this robot she made could do a bunch of things! It could sync up with many different products, hack them or even fix them! It was like a swiss army knife, but a robot!

She thought maybe she should give it a name, but she couldn’t figure out what to name it. Moving her hand over it’s outer shell, there was a small smile spreading on her lips. ]

Rover. That’ll be your name!

[Junko is happy to just stroll along, no matter the time of day. It's no skin off of her teeth if anything happens to anyone, and, well, she's never really had many problems with other people. In the normal sense of those words.

However, when the street lights start to go out, she stops and looks around, curious.]

Oh no! I didn't grant any prayers about this. What is going on?!

[Always better to play dumb. They underestimate you then.

Just as she goes to take a step further the sound of car's brakes squealing down the road as it breezes past her, no lights, no horn, just a ton of metal, plastic and glass nearly crushing her.]

ALRIGHT! WHO DID THAT? WHO DARES!

Endless Eight

[She doesn't necessarily hate Tokyo. It has his benefits, of course, but she normally just has a great loathing for people in general. She's only come to this part of town to get something that isn't available in the other sections (a candy she's taken a liking to), but she's passed by the stupid bunny girl cafe like five times. Which means she's traversed the same damn eight blocks five times.

As such, her patience is at an end and she's thirsty. Since there are no other cafes or convenience stores in the area, she stops over to the nearest cosplaying waitress and glares.]

Bubble tea, with extra bubbles. And black and white cookies. Now.

[She's heard about it, but, well, it's a thing of beauty to watch in person.

Goats, the size of school buildings, eating everything in sight.]

Wow, I've seen some things, but this really takes the bear.

[Hey, being asked to man this cafe isn't the worst thing she's done. Not by a long shot. Of course, she's bored and wants to find something to fill her time. In a fit of... niceness(?) she agreed to wear the bunny girl outfit and hand out menus to passersby.

She's noticed the weird blond boy before, but she's not really working hard to attract customers. In her opinion, they'll either come or they won't. She knows what she has is worth looking at and if they expect her to go all out on guys who wouldn't normally register on her radar, then, well, they're dumb.

When he approaches her with a stupid grin and a familiar look in his eyes, she thinks two things. She could be cruel and ruin his hopes right away and watch the despair gather in his innocent features right away. Or.... She can take her time and start off by being nice.

Guess which one she's going with.]

Oh no, you're too sweet, but I'm stuck working here for the day, like a cub in honey.

[She pulls her hand up to her face in an act of shyness.]

Bearhaps I can interest you in some tea and cake?

[Oh my god what is happening-

One moment he's running the next moment he's being carried away like a potato sack.]

[Toushirou is standing above her in midair, arms crossed as his eyes seem to track the spirit.]

[Shion ungracefully lands on his feet with a stumble, hand going over his chest like he's had a slight heart attack. He's never going to get used to these gods doing abrupt things like that.]

... Thank you. I'm not sure why they were so interested... in me.

[Ryuji, who's been following a little behind Shion, rubs at the back of his neck in confusion... not at the fact that they seem to be going around in circles but...]

Dude, why are there so many girls in bunny suits wavin' at us? [His pace slows to almost a crawl when he chances a glance over his shoulder again, and one of them blows a kiss in his direction as he returns a sheepish wave back. Gulp.] That's probably the third set of 'em we've passed.

[Toushirou glances over at him.]

It could've been your unnatural appearance. [As if that makes things any better.]

Either way, they could have also seen you as food.

[On one hand. It should be very flattering to have someone kiss your hand in this day and age. That's something that doesn't happen these days. The reality though is that having a dead body touching you, much less kissing any part of your body is gross...

Uraraka can't help but shriek a little as she slams her fist into one of the decomposing bodies..

This is unsolicited physical contact and she did not sign up for corpse smooches of any kind.]

Endless Eights:

I'm sure I've passed this shop before...

[Uraraka is standing in front of the shop with the bunny girls and tapping her chin thought. The second time she passed it she thought it was coincidence. The third time she started getting suspicious. The fourth time she stopped and knew that there was something going on. Why was she stuck on these blocks???]

Excuse me! I'm trying to get out of here!

[She quickly makes her way towards the closest person.]
