TEST DRIVE # 17

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

Ya think so? [Wait, NO!!! They have other things they need to worry about, don't they?] Alright, how 'bout this. We try and get the hell outta... whatever the eff this is, and if we see 'em again, we'll know it's fate.

[See? He's got his priorities straight.]

[Well logically which one of them is more attractive here? He's only going off of base human logic on what attracts females...

He huffs softly.] Alright... Let's go.

[Can he really argue?]

[Good boy, glad you agree, Shion! Even if you didn't, Ryuji would have dragged you along with him anyway. With his arm still slung over Shion's shoulders, he gives the boy a pat.]

You ain't never seen a girl before? What's the deal?

[Sighing. He really didn't have a chance if he argued.]

Of course I've seen a girl before! [Frowning. Just... He's not around them a lot. Don't bully!! He's going to push weakly at Ryuji now.] There's no point to us talking to them, but if that's what you want to do go right ahead!

[Without him, okay.]

Nah, man!

[Push him away? Okay, but he just rests an elbow on Shion's shoulder instead. Come come, let Ryuji-senpai teach you all the tricks of wooing. ~~No don't.~~]

Every guy's gotta have a wingman with him. It ain't any fun without it! It'll help soften the blow if they ain't into you either.

R-Ryuji-san...

[Shion looks distressed. He really has no interest in chatting up bunny girls oh my gosh. If this is happening Ryuji is going to have to drag him.]

I doubt they're actually interested in us...

[He wilts, giving a defeated sigh, because really... he's not going to go forcing Shion into something he doesn't want to do. He'll be enthusiastic about it, sure, but when it boils down to actually doing it, that's a different story.]

Alright, fiiiine. You got a map of this place or we just gonna keep runnin' around in circles? We've been tryina get outta here for forever. I'm gettin' hungry...

[Bless you, Ryuji. This poor noodle just isn't that interested in talking to girls. In a life he doesn't remember... Well, he pissed one off when he said relationships are only for the purpose of reproduction. So...]

Ahh. I do, yes. [Shion pulls out his cell phone and brings up their location on a map with their position marked. It's still strange because he's sure they've already been down these blocks...]

Seven blocks north. Let's go.

[He'll start leading the way, not a second glance back at the girls.]

[He stuffs his phone in his pocket and jogs to catch up to Shion, following not far behind him as Ryuji lets him take the lead. As they pass the buildings, he's starting to get a sense that he's been here before... man, deja vu is a weird thing, isn't it?

By the sixth block, he's starting to let that uneasiness get the better of him.]

Y'know, I'm preeetty sure that's the same arcade we passed the other two times we came around here. [He points a suspicious finger in it's directions. Very suspicious indeed.] Like, I've been to that arcade before, it's pretty damn hard to forget. You sure there's nothin' wrong with your app?

Hmm... [Shion looks unsure and confused. He reaches up to pull his hair nervously and then sighs.]

There's nothing wrong with my phone, I'm sure of that. [He glances up at the arcade.]

There's probably a supernatural explanation to all of this, then.

[Which... He sighs again at. Why can't things just make logical sense around here?

As if on cue the bunny girls down a block start giggling. Shion doesn't notice but there they are, waving frantically at them. Yooo-hooooo!!]

[Ryuji definitely notices the girls calling out and beckoning at them, and he squints his eyes in return, not bothering to wave this time. Now that he's getting a good look at their faces, he finally notices that they're the same as the ones they'd passed earlier before continuing on down the block.]

You... you think they got anything to do with this? I don't think those are normal girls in bunny suits, dude.

[He's keen enough to notice they're the same bunny girls too. He sighs again.]

In this case, most likely...

[He pushes lightly on Ryuji's arm. You first.]

Go talk to them I guess.

Wh-Whoa!?

[Ryuji stumbles forward a little when he feels the push on his arm, but he pauses to look back at Shion. Throw him a bone here, pal?]

No way in hell I'm doin' this by myself. You're comin' with me. We gotta stick together, man. Through thick and thin.
