TEST DRIVE # 15



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Sneaky Snakes

There are a number of snakes that have become possessed by a bunch of very sneaky ayakashi. They are slithering around, silently, snaring unsuspecting passersby into their trap - their trap to steal money. That's right, these snakes are busy snatching bills and coins from whoever they can. Try to put a stop to their thieving ways, or perhaps get thieved by them yourself.

Tummy Troubles

Many of the customers of a certain restaurant are complaining of the fact that their stomachs hurt after eating there. It could just be food poisoning, but many of these people are winding up in critical condition after a couple of days. It's time to figure out what the heck this cook is actually putting in the food.

Underwhelming Underwear

A family run business has been selling underwear for generations, but the underwear they sell is super boring and bland. Nobody wants to buy from them when cooler underwear is just around the corner. They've asked you to help them bring customers back in - by making their boring underwear seem as cool and hip as possible! How you do that is up to you.

Vividly Violet

There are so many ayakashi making their way through the air that at sunset the sky is turning an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple. Near Shore residents are reacting to this in varying ways. Many are delighted by the beautiful sky, but just as many are terrified that it's a sign of the end of times. Try to take down some ayakashi to make the sky less purple. Or just sit back and watch the beauty.

Wonder Wall

Anyways, there's this college boy who won't stop playing his acoustic guitar. He's from the US and is trying to pick up Japanese chicks. By now he should've somehow realized that they're totally not interested in him. But the song just keeps getting louder and louder and all that the people near the campus can hope is that today is gonna be the day that he stops playing. Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves them.

I had that feeling as well. [ Tsuna laughs, he had similar thoughts.He feels he would be better to serving, but that's mostly him trying to maintain a meek life. Despite his life being anything but mundane.

Though, even if he feels that about himself, he's sure if Reborn was here, he would have kicked him. In the end, he'll probably make him take on his role, kicking and screaming.

He then looks at the older Lambo with admiration and a crooked smile.]

But you're all grown up, and stronger than before. I know whatever shinki under your care will be pleased to have you. So, have some faith in yourself! You've always came through for me.

[gottastaycalm]

[ He's quiet for a moment, the words hitting too close to home. Heavy with the weight failure, his shoulders grow taunt but do not falter. ]

I didn't, you know.

[ An admission. And all he can say on the matter. It was the job of the Lightning Guardian to draw damage to himself and away from the rest of the famiglia. Yet, the others risked themselves for him. If he'd done his job he wouldn't have been the last one standing. He failed them. Tsuna most of all. ]

[Tsuna blinks, not really sure what Lambo is talking about. From his knowledge the guardian has never failed him. If anything, he felt bad for all the times the younger Lambo had to fight. Though it worked out when he summoned his older self.]

Didn't do what Lambo?

[ Tsuna is aware that they may come from different timelines. He knew about parallel worlds, but he didn't really understand the science behind them, or if this is the case with this Lambo.]

[gottastaycalm]

Yare, yare. It seems we're getting off topic.

[ He smiles down at the young Vongola recalling all the happy memories he still had to draw upon. ]

I'd like to catch up on old times, but it seems we've neglected the cold-blooded ones too long.

[ And if Tsuna looks over, he'll see a whole lot of them slithering toward them ready to attack. ]

The cold-blooded ones? [ Tsuna didn't get it until he turns around, and sees a whole army of snakes behind him.

He jumps behind Lambo, as if he didn't have powers of his own, but Tsuna is always so unwilling to use them.]

You don't have a shinki, Lambo? [Of course,they didn't need one to handle the small scale ayakashi, but to exorcise them, they would.]

[gottastaycalm]

I'm afraid I haven't found them yet.

[ So he'll just have to make do. ]

We won't be able to rend them, but we can move them at least.

[ Which means he's going to have to render them unconscious, so... Electricity manifests in his hand. ]

You should stand back, young Vongola.

[ He tells him as he steps forward taking a moment to resonate with the earth's electromagnetic field picking up the energy and inducing an electrical current within the confines of his hand. ]

[Even Lambo doesn't have a shinki?! So they are kind of stuck dealing with the snake ayakashi on their own. Well,at least,the Lambo from the future was able to hold his own pretty well. Tsuna remembers seeing a similar attack from the other back home. Somehow it was more amazing to see up close, even if Tsuna feels he's too close for comfort.

Tsuna does tries his best to stay out of the way, especially since all he could do is cower behind his lightning guardian. Some god he is.]

[While Lambo focuses on what's in front of them, no ones really paying attention to their backs. Tsuna gets a feeling that he should be wary, and he looks behind them to see a few more slithering up to them. Instead, of alerting Lambo, he decides to handle it himself. He couldn't have Lambo do all the work.

Tsuna activates his dying will flame, and uses his agility to gather up the wandering snakes, tossing them in range of Lambo's electric current. His own flames won't be able to knock them unconscious.]

[gottastaycalm]

[ When all is said and done, there's a slew of snakes on the ground, eerily still. ]

That should keep them out of trouble until someone can rend them.

[ Still even if they had gathered all of the snakes, it seems a shame they couldn't finish the job. Tsuna still has his powers, but he's realizing that he needs the help of a shinki to do his godly duties.

The brunette slips out of his hyper dying will mode, since there's no need for it.]

M-maybe we should get out of here. Just in case they wake up.

[Unlikely, but Tsuna didn't really want to stick around either.]

I'm still new at this god role...maybe you could give me some tips?

[ A quiet smile before he disappears in a puff of smoke leaving behind his 15 year old self. ]

[ Lambo looks around, taking in the scene to figure out where exactly he's landed himself this time, but more importantly, when. ]

EEEEEH?! [When the older Lambo disappears in a puff of a smoke, Tsuna visibly frowns. It's not that he isn't happy to see the teenage Lambo, but he was hoping for some sound advice. He really didn't know how he should be going about this god role, so any insight would have been appreciated.

Though Tsuna figures it's something he couldn't ask about, he just needs to learn through trial and error, like everything else in life. If Reborn were here, he'll probably hit him for being lazy, and taking the easy way out.

The smoke clears and the younger Lambo is there looking confused. It must be hard being displaced to different timelines, Tsuna isn't sure he'll be able to keep up.]

Lambo, you're back. I didn't think the ten year bazooka would work here. [He pauses, considering something.] Do you still recognize me?

[ The loud screech has Lambo cringing back for a second. That is, until he realizes who it is. ]

[ He's used to the older, more mature -- ]

Tsuna-nii.

[ The young Italian looks back at him with a careful smile. He's used to the older, more mature Tsuna. This younger version of him is a little odd and brings him back to his childhood days. ]

Yare, yare. This brings back old times.

[Tsuna is a bit taken back. The other Lambo has said something similar. This Lambo did recognize him, but it's a bit different.]

For me, they aren't quite old yet. [Tsuna allows himself to smile a little. Even this Lambo is more grown up, he still see thw younger and troublesome boy he used to look after.]

But I was wondering if you knew where you are right now?

[gottastaycalm]

Hmn?

[ He scratches the back of his head in contemplation taking a moment to take a second look around and this time he notices the very distinct pile of sdfiudiufgopdf ]

SNAKES!

[ He immediately scrambles to hide behind Tsuna shoving him forward to deal with the monstrosities! ]

[ Tsuna almost forgets about the pile of snakes that the older Lambo and himself gathered. Though Tsuna could understand how such a sight could be weird, and disconcerting.

Though he frowns as the teenage Lambo shoves him forward, and hides behind him. Um...didn't he notice the snakes are incapacitated?]

It's okay, Lambo. They aren't going to hurt you. The older you and I took care of them---

[He starts to assure the lightning guardian until he feels something crawl up his leg, giving him goosebumps! Tsuna looks down to see one of the snakes slithering up his limb. The brunette starts to dance about, kicking his leg out to get the reptile off.]

--UWAHHHH! It's crawling one me! It's crawling on me!

[Why did it always have to be him?!]

[gottastaycalm]

[ Lambo instantly lays eyes on the slithering thing going up Tsuna's leg and NOPE! SO MUCH NOPE!

He takes off, sandals slapping on the ground as the coward turns tail and runs crying about evil snakes when he suddenly trips on a snake and falls face down on the ground effectively out of commision for the moment. ]

[When Lambo just jets off in the opposite direction, Tsuna definitely believes his guardian has abandoned him.

Somehow he manages to throw off the snake on him, just in time to see Lambo fall flat on his face, a few feet away.

Even if it does look a bit lame, Tsuna does worry about the teen. Running up to the Italian youth, and kicking away the snake that tripped him.]

Lambo! Are you okay?

[gottastaycalm]

[ Lambo is holding back the tears because he's a man. And men don't cry. ]

Hold it.... in. Gotta.... stay.... calm....

[goeshyper]

[ Men only cry in the dark they say, but even Tsuna had a few slip ups himself. He smiles gently at the teen, sighing a little in relief.]

You'll be fine, Lambo. Let's get out of here, before we encounter more snakes.

[He offers a hand out to the Italian, just how the older Lambo had done to him earlier.]

[gottastaycalm]

[ He sniffles up at him and at the kind gesture Lambo valiantly stifles back the tears. ]

Tsuna-ni.

[ Wiping away the tears with the back of his hand, he takes the offered gesture. ]

Aww I love that icon!

[Even if Lambo is older then his five year old self, he's still pretty sensitive. They weren't blood related, but he'll always look out for his lightning guardian, no matter what.

He supports Lambo as he stands up again.] Hungry,Lambo?

[Running and gathering snakes makes him surprisingly hungry. Though any excuse to get out of here is good!]
