Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Sneaky Snakes
There are a number of snakes that have become possessed by a bunch of very sneaky ayakashi. They are slithering around, silently, snaring unsuspecting passersby into their trap - their trap to steal money. That's right, these snakes are busy snatching bills and coins from whoever they can. Try to put a stop to their thieving ways, or perhaps get thieved by them yourself.
Many of the customers of a certain restaurant are complaining of the fact that their stomachs hurt after eating there. It could just be food poisoning, but many of these people are winding up in critical condition after a couple of days. It's time to figure out what the heck this cook is actually putting in the food.
A family run business has been selling underwear for generations, but the underwear they sell is super boring and bland. Nobody wants to buy from them when cooler underwear is just around the corner. They've asked you to help them bring customers back in - by making their boring underwear seem as cool and hip as possible! How you do that is up to you.
There are so many ayakashi making their way through the air that at sunset the sky is turning an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple. Near Shore residents are reacting to this in varying ways. Many are delighted by the beautiful sky, but just as many are terrified that it's a sign of the end of times. Try to take down some ayakashi to make the sky less purple. Or just sit back and watch the beauty.
Anyways, there's this college boy who won't stop playing his acoustic guitar. He's from the US and is trying to pick up Japanese chicks. By now he should've somehow realized that they're totally not interested in him. But the song just keeps getting louder and louder and all that the people near the campus can hope is that today is gonna be the day that he stops playing. Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves them.

SLAMS THE FUCk down in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-Snakes
He didn't really have any money on him to steal, but Hibari stopped his motorcycle once he saw someone rolling around and screaming from the snakes. Really? It was obviously a Far Shore resident, a really stupid one at that.
If he was going to be collecting all these snakes, he didn't need some moron rolling around in them. So Hibari stalked over to the unfortunate god and started kicking him to get the snakes off. And if he actually kicked the kid in the meantime...two birds with one stone. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
D-don't slam down too hard, okay?!
Luckily someone was coming. He couldn't hear the rumble of the motorcycle, due him screaming very loudly. Though, he did feel the sharp kick that, of course, hit him right on the side. Making him cry out in pain, his brown eyes looking over to see who kicked him."UWAHHH!"
At first, Tsuna had to do a double take at the familiar face. He was about to call out Hibari's name, but he paused, remembering what he was told when he first arrived. He couldn't reveal the past of shinki, since it would cause them pain.
It didn't seem as if Hibari recognized him either, although the guardian was treating him with the same respect as he usually did. None at all. "I-I was trying to catch these snakes."
Trying being the keyword here. There's another kick, which just made the snakes constrict around his frame a bit tighter. Making Tsuna flail around more helpless and with desperation. "H-Hey! Can you stop kicking me?! They're going cut off my circulating!"
i make no promises
He gave Tsuna one last kick for being annoying before raising two of his fingers and slashing at the side of the god's body, causing the snake ayakashi to screech and fall off of him. Any that tried to attack Hibari himself merely got pushed back by Roll, who had formed a ball and was now rolling around and crushing the snakes to the best of his ability.
Hibari then lifted Tsuna by his collar. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't bite you to death."
*cries*
Tsuna managed to get one sigh of relief our before he was lifted up by his collar, being confronted by Hibari. Tsuna's eyes went wide and squealed feebly as Hibari said his catchphrase. And....Tsuna didn't have a good rebuttal at all.
"U-um..." He did tried to think really hard. There really wasn't much to stop Hibari from biting anyone to death, if he really wanted to. Except there was a good reason that conveniently came up. Tsuna started shaking as he noticed something behind the shinki. He slowly lifted his finger up, and pointed a bit higher their both of their statures. "B-b-b-behind you!"
If Hibari did look behind him, he'll see a large snake-like ayakashi behind him. Probably awoken by slaying of his smaller comrades. The ayakashi looked pretty angry, and ready to devour both of them.
Re: *cries*
Stupid mewling animal. He was, however, taken by surprise by the giant snake that raised itself above him, ready to strike. Hibari promptly dumped Tsuna on the ground and swung out his tonfa, wedging it in its teeth before it struck down. The ayakashi made a pained noise, swinging its head back and forth and dripping some venom on Hibari's arm.
Thankfully, he ripped out his tonfa before it was stolen from his hands and drew another, more powerful borderline between him and the snake. It pained him to have to walk away from this fight, but there was no way Hibari could win. He'd had too many personal, painful experiences, and he was tired of fighting and losing. So he just turned heel and started walking away quickly, leaving Tsuna where he lay.
"If you have any self preservation, I suggest you leave. I don't care about your life."
no subject
Still Hibari did more than he, putting his life on the line as he took on the phantom. Tsuna cringed as Hibari hit the beast in the mouth, and the venom dripping onto the shinki's arm. Hibari must have felt like he couldn't win, because he drew a borderline and started to retreat.
Tsuna hurried stood up and followed after the disciplinarian. He didn't know where the other was going, but he didn't want to stick around to where the snake was. "W-wait!W-what about your arm? Shouldn't you look into it?"
no subject
Except the annoying bug was still following him. Why wasn't he leaving Hibari alone? "Didn't I tell you to stop crowding me? Leave before I bite you to death!"
no subject
When Hibari mentioned, he was crowding him and that he'll definitely bite him to death, Tsuna knew it wasn't an idle threat. Still he still felt bad for being the main reason for the shinki's injury. He hoped he didn't get some kind of blight because of him.
"T-the nearest shrine isn't that way...!" Even he was bound to be a victim of those tonfas, he didn't want the shinki to be wandering aimlessly to find one. Especially if he did know one that was closer.
no subject
He spit that answer out, with an anger and viciousness Tsuna probably hadn't heard from him directly. Hibari was done with dealing with them and their toying.

"I...." Tsuna then slowly shook his head. Hibari did scare him, but he was trying to make peace with the other. Especially since there was a misunderstanding between them. "I don't pity you at all! I know that Hiba---I mean---there's someone I know who is very similar to you. He's very much about maintaining his pride, and beating up anyone who threatens to take it away. In fact, I don't think there's many people who could do that to him, and still live to tell about it..."
Tsuna realized he was going off on a tangent. It was hard not to ramble, when he could feel Hibari's intense stare, even at this distance."B-but what I'm trying to say is...I don't pity you. It doesn't matter if I'm a god, or if you're a shinki. I want to help you as an equal, not because I feel superior. Since I'm definitely not! But because you helped me! It's as simple as that."
no subject
But that stopped when Hibari latched onto a familiar sound in Tsuna's voice; and this...person he was talking about. He'd seen how Gojyo and Hakkai had acted around each other-somehow, the god had known the other but was unable to speak about it. He could tell it in the almost awkward interactions, though he wasn't privy to the subtlties of their relationship, and he was seeing the exact same signs here.
Hibari's face grew confused, then angry again as he felt a sting to the back of his neck. "You know me from before I died."
It wasn't a question, but a statement, in accordance with the sudden nervousness he felt. "You know who I am."
no subject
Though the shinki's face transitioned into anger again, and Tsuna figured, he must've said something to piss the other off. Though of all things he expected Hibari to say (He only anticipated the infamous 'bite you to death', to be honest), the dark haired shinki said something to put Tsuna in even more of a panic!
"W-what?" Tsuna began to stammer.
Tsuna wasn't quite sure what to say to such a direct and truthful statement as that. He was a bad liar. His face probably gave away that he's trying to cover up his own tracks. Ever since he became a god, Tsuna understood that he couldn't reveal a shinki's past, because it would cause them despair. But it already seemed that Hibari was aware of his own death, just not the life he lead before then. "I...I wasn't talking about you. Just someone I know! I'm sorry if I confused you. J-just forget what I said!"
He decided to see if they could change the subject, and suddenly their previous conversation popped into his head. The shrine and Hibari's arm. They needed to take care of it before. Tsuna started to walk in that direction, hoping that Hibari will follow him. "Um...anyway the shrine is this way. We should probably hurry."
no subject
Coward.
The blight was still stinging his hand rather painfully, but Hibari, surprisingly just started following Tsuna anyway. This god was an enigma, and he didn't want to let Tsuna out of his sight while he knew the kid could possibly be a threat.
no subject
However, he focused on the fact that Hibari was following him. Maybe he was in that much pain from the blight slowly taking effect. Tsuna hurried along, walking on to a familiar road that lead them up to a long pair of stairs against a hill. Once they reached the top, the large red torii signaling the gateway to the shrine.
Tsuna was totally out of breath from all those steps, but he made sure to get out of the way, so Hibari could get to the purification well.
