Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Daring Drinks
A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.
An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.
Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.
A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?
Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!

He finds himself automatically matching pace with Omi, just a step behind him and to his left, right in his most vulnerable blind spot. From here he can protect his god... not that his god needs protecting, of course. Still, he falls into a familiar-feeling stride, swinging his head slightly back and forth as he walks so as to best scan the surrounding crowd for threats. ]
You are the god I am to serve. [ That's really about it. ] If I am worthy, you may choose to use me as a tool to fight demons. This is my redemption.
[ Okay, the angel didn't tell him that last bit, but it's obvious, isn't it? He wasn't a good person -- no good person would look the way he does, think the things he's been thinking -- and fighting demons is a good thing to do. Ergo, he is here to redeem himself.
If his god permits. ]

The idea that this is some kind of redemption is another layer of uneasiness on what's already a ten-tier cake. But if that's how he's going to see it, maybe Omi can play that to advantage.]
You should know going in that worth and redemption are earned over time. Don't expect demon-fighting right away. You can prove yourself in other ways first.
[The firmness in his voice comes more easily than it should. Assertiveness makes a fine channel for anger, hatred and distrust.]

As you command.
[ What else can he do but fight, though? He must have other abilities, or skills that he can be taught -- his god would not be intending to use him in those 'other ways' if he didn't know that Farfarello was capable of them -- but fighting has been what has come most naturally so far. Fighting is what it seems he was built for.
...Ah, but service to a god shouldn't be easy, should it? Redemption shouldn't come so cheaply. The tasks his god will set him at might push him to his limit, but it will be to shape him into the form his god finds the most pleasing. It will be hard.
He will prove worthy. ]
My Lord...? [ He hesitates a moment, unsure if his great glowing god is accepting of questions. (He is glowing, isn't he? Like the sun, like a fire beneath his skin. It's nearly blinding to look at.) ] I've no memories, as you surely know, so I do not know your laws. I would not like to transgress.

My number one rule is protect the innocent. Those who seek no harm against others, who only want to live peacefully, should be defended from those who would take that away from them for selfish gain.
[This rule can't possibly go wrong.]

You are justice. [ Farf nods -- this is good. A god who helps the meek is a good god... and defense he's certain will require bloodshed. There's a place for him at his god's side yet. It's a relief. ] I am glad to hear it, my Lord.

No such person is around, alas. So instead he's left to be slightly perplexed at the praise... It isn't that he disagrees that such a rule is a cause of justice. He simply doesn't know how to square the concept against what he knows of Farfarello, the same man who he watched kill his own mother. And his mother was nothing like the Takatori family. She was sweet, likable, she preached love and forgiveness, she clearly cared for him...! How could this be the same person?]
Good... Then we'll get along fine.
[This is a lie.]
