Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.

Daring Drinks
A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.
An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.
Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.
A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?
Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

Nora Valkyrie - RWBY - shinki
Hello~!
[Nora waves to the whoever walks past. She has a bucket in her hand, coming right up to whoever she flagged down and hands them the bucket. There's several eels in it.]
Hold on to these, okay? I gotta find another bucket.
[And she's off again! At least it doesn't take long for her to return with several buckets, her arms covered in them as they all bang against each other as she moves. She looks extremely proud of herself.] Think this is enough?
Frog Friend
[After watching the frog jump on someone, Nora has an idea! Mostly of the fun variety. The key to keeping frogs from jumping on people, you just need to jump on the frogs. Easy enough plan, right?
So she runs up to a frog and jumps on it. Then lifts it as high as she can. Whoever was under it has unfortunately been squished by a second body on them for another minute or so. Now however they are as free as a bird! Unless you've been observing instead and now there's a rather happy looking ginger with a frog.]
Got one!
[But what is she supposed to do with it...?]
Eels
So when Nora comes back, she deadpans: ] How are you handling the electricity?
[ Like, do you have a plan? Might be a good idea. Just a tip.
Are the ones in this bucket charged, incidentally? Or are these the refugees? ]

[To prove her point, she somehow waits patiently, then quickly grabs one of the eels. The thing is too stunned for the moment, letting off electricity when it's dropped into the bucket. She squeaks softly and shakes her hand out.]
That's how you do it.

Hibiki puts her bucket of eels on the ground next to the other buckets Nora had fetched. ] A simpleton's solution.
I've no time for such farces.
[ So here's your bucket back. It's not like you don't have too many already. Or that leaving a bucket of electric eels unattended could possibly go poorly...when one is poking its head out over the rim... ]

You might wanna poke that one back into the bucket before it gets out. [She makes a poking gesture in the air.] Like that. Right in the eye should do!

[ Plop. The newly-freed eel looks around, confused. There's no water. That is not good. It begins flopping away from the bucket.
Hibiki sighs. Are you going to come down or does she have to take care of this herself? ]

Are you gonna pick it up?
[That's the logical option...]

And with a flick of her wrist and a snap of her fingers, the whole place is plunged into darkness, then illuminated in wavering shades of blue and green and silver. Undulating ripples flow across the walls, mimicking the sight of sunlight flickering through water. A school of small fish, heedless of the eel lurking on the "ocean" floor, swim about the area.
They even do a loop around Nora's head before diving down towards that eel, which is watching them with interest.... ]

She's just surveying the tank and considering how best to take the task when this bubbly girl walks over and hands her a bucket. Even if she could complain, it's half the job done already, and she can't help a little bit of a smirk as the girl walks away. Yeah, she's getting off easy if the soft-hearted helpers have already done most of the work. Maybe her next orders will be something more exciting if she gets this done in good time.
When Nora comes back and asks her question, Neo shrugs and tips her free hand side to side in a passable gesture of "probably". That looks like more bucket than she can ever remember using for anything herself - not that that's saying much - so she doesn't see why it wouldn't be. Neo is definitely holding that bucket of eels back out for her to take even before the other buckets get the chance to be put down, though.]

You guys get to hang out over here. No zap zapping anyone else.
[She grabs a new bucket and climbs onto her snagged from somewhere she doesn't remember.]
How many eels can I grab before I get zapped this time? [Meaning she is going to grab these things barehanded. Because why not.]

Not that the other girl seems too bothered, but still, when she comments on getting zapped, Neo's smile becomes perhaps a shade unsettling. Maybe this will turn out a bit more entertaining than she'd thought, at least.
Climbing the ladder with no issue at all despite her ridiculously tall high-heeled boots and loss of one hand to holding a bucket (she's barely using the other hand anyway; she might as well be climbing stairs with the ease she's having), Neo leans the bucket on a rung and folds her arms on the edge, resting her chin there with an expectant, faintly amused smile in wait for the show to begin.]

Nora glances back at the other girl and her impeccable balance.] I will try not to drop any on you.
[She says this with an air of "I will definitely not drop one on you!"
So not this girl gets to see just what Nora has done to get the eels out. Which is grab the eels fast enough where they are too stunned to zap someone till they are in the bucket. One, two, three, four, zap,] Ow [five, and six make a full bucket. She offers the full bucket handle to the girl.]

Watching Nora grab the eels, Neo tips her head with a thoughtful air, her eyes following the motions. She's fast, but could still be fine-tuning the process, and it really is only a matter of time before one of them is in her hands long enough to bite...figuratively speaking. With the flash of a wider smile at the sound of her "companion" getting zapped, Neo takes the full bucket and offers her the empty one before stepping back down the ladder gracefully. Just as graceful is the manner in which she "accidentally" hooks one of her heels on the bottom rung, pulling the ladder subtly away from the tank. Depending on how the ladder's standing right now, it's either an increase to the chance the ladder will fall if the weight at the top moves out too far, or just makes it that little bit harder to reach the eels.
Either way, Neo draws no attention to it, simply placing the bucket down with the first full one and grabbing another empty one to take up with her, still wearing that odd little smile as she perches herself on the ladder again.]
