TEST DRIVE # 12

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Daring Drinks

A couple of local bars are going out of their way to make new and interesting drinks for their customers to try, in a long-standing war between the two bars. Of course, they're going a little off the rails, so there are some very interesting - and somewhat scary - combinations popping out of the woodworks. And they want everyone passing by to try them.

Electric Eels

An odd ayakashi is causing some of the eels at the local aquarium to become literally electric, causing the eels to shock the other inhabitants in their tanks. This is causing a pretty big uproar and if it isn't fixed soon, someone could die or the aquarium might even just shut down entirely.

Frog Friend

Large frogs are popping up all over the place and following people around. They don't seem malicious in any way, but they are kind of creepy to look at, brightly colored, and leave trails of slippery goo wherever they stand. Oh, and they like to jump at people and knock them over, just for fun.

Gaseous Grandpas

A local home for older men is having a problem with a number of their inhabitants where they literally cannot stop farting and belching. It turns out this is the work of an ayakashi that just thinks farts and burps are funny and knows it's easier to get those sorts of things out of old people. Help the poor old guys out, would you?

Horrifying Hentai

Many known otaku in the area are dealing with a rather terrifying problem - every hentai they watch lately comes into reality very suddenly. Sometimes this means cute, begging girls, sure, but it also means tentacles and aliens and a whole rash of other things too. You'll have to stop the ayakashi that is bringing these 'fantasies' to life in order to save these guys.

My, my now you're in a hurry?

[Venus giggles a bit before quickly following after Hibiki, a obvious skip in her step as she hums sweetly. She's clearly enjoying keeping the god company.]

What sorts of tea do you like? I'm guess you're....old fashion or its something I've never even heard of before. Oh! Oh! [Her hands clap together as her eyes gleam.]

You have to let me try to sip of yours!

From the same cup?

[ Congratulations. You got her to look over.

In surprise, but. Progress? ]

[Venus' smile grows as she leans in. She tries to push some of her weight on Hibiki as she tilts her head a bit to whisper into Hibiki's ear]

The very same! No straws needed----unless you want to share that too! A god and shinki need to bond right?

[Regardless if they're a pairing or not! Relationships are imporant. Spread the love!]

[ Hibiki is leaned on. Hibiki sort of half-stumbles. Hibiki regains her composure and walks with Perfect Posture as if she can will this person smushed against her side away.

She also tries to pull ahead again, and if that leaves Venus off-balance, well, not her problem. ] What an oversimplified, vulgar conceit. I refuse.

[ Come on, tea shop. Where are you? Now she has to see you first. ]

[Why can't you just hold still and go with the flow?

Venus stumbles a bit when she pulls ahead, she pouts lightly looking at her. Mainly when Hibiki speaks up]

You're going to refuse our bond?

[She whines, sounding heart broken but that doesn't mean she stops trailing after her. Another block and a cutesy little tea shop will be awaiting them.]

Then I refuse your refusal.

[ Hibiki snorts. ] You're in no such -

[ Hah. She thinks she sees it. Hibiki grins, then turns that grin on her companion.

Smug as a bug on a rug. Or something less disgusting than that. Smug because she's about to have a mug.

Cup. Commoners drink from mugs. ] Mademoiselle. It has been a pleasure.

[ Before was just brisk walking. Now, after a half-bow - it's time for power walking. Which looks a lot like trying to escape. ]

[What.

Wait.

Wait a second!

Venus quickly jogs after her, no way is Hibiki getting off this easy! She'd much rather be holding onto the god's hand and leading her along but this is fine too. Hibiki must just be shy~ That's cute. Hibiki is cute!]

It has been a pleasure! So let the pleasure continue! [She winks, holding up a finger as they reach the place and she reaches for the door.]

[ ....How is she still keeping pace with Hibiki?!

Hibiki tries to knock Venus's hand out of the way, hoping to open the door first. And she might not even hold it open for Venus either. So there! ] I don't need it.

[ ...Granted, even if she does manage to get the door open, she'll be banging it open with enough force Venus could probably get through anyway, but the thought process apparently hadn't gotten quite that far. ]

[Whoa there! She blinks when her hand is knocked out of the way and the door is shoved open. Staring for a brief second, she quickly slips in behind Hibiki and reaches out to pat the other on the back. It's an attempt at comfort.]

Easy, Easy! It's not a race you know! If you wanted to be first you could of just say so, Ouji-san~

[It's all said sweetly as she waits for Hibiki to pick a table because someone wants to clearly lead. ~~Or get away from her but that's not an option~~. Why is this god fighting her so much over a free cup of tea? There bargining in does get a few stares to which Venus perks and waves sweetly. Nothing to see here. Nothing at all.]

[ Why is this the not first time Hibiki's been patted on the back and "whoa"d like a horse. Is it her bearing, regal as a thoroughbred's?

But she is being called "prince", which placates her somewhat. Hibiki sighs, marches to a table, and seats herself. Normally she'd pull out the other chair for the lady first, but ladies are as ladies do, and this lady is not ladylike.

Or perhaps Hibiki is just pissy. ] So you do know your genres.
