Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Old Officials
There's a business that is desperately wishing the older members of their workforce would bow out. They've been sitting on death's door for so long and are doing little to help the company. The younger managers only want to step up and take their place! Help convince these ancient businessmen to step down.
A celebration for peanuts is sweeping through the city. Peanut butter, peanut cookies, even just plain peanuts are being sold, thrown, and praised all over. It's your job to help spread the peanut love, either by helping to make the tasty treats or by buying more peanuts from the next town over.
Oddly enough, a request has come in from a quail, of all creatures. It thinks very highly of itself and knows that it's super mega important, but it has such a hard time being anything but quiet. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to draw attention to this quail - make it stand out like not other quail has done before.
A rowdy motorcycle gang has been plaguing the streets for a few weeks. Every night, at midnight, they make their engines roar out in unison, waking everybody in town. The riders themselves are good guys, they just have this one nasty habit that they refuse to give up because it pays tribute to their patron god. Do you have the heart to get them to quiet down?
The newest tourist stop is a large casino. It's said that everyone who enters the casino has their luck stolen from them at the door. That might just be silly superstitions and bad gamblers talking, but there is definitely an ayakashi there who seems to feed on people's luck. Maybe that's what's causing everyone to lose so much.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!

[ Back in the hallway, Kisuke slides past a receptionist and hops up a small flight of stairs to the landing with the offices. ]
Let's see.... ah, here we go Hayakawa. [ The good thing about having powers of matter conversation is just how easy it is to pick a lock.] You take the desk and I'll go through the shelves?

[And she takes a sip of coffee, pausing for a moment. Wow. They did have great coffee. Note to self: find how they made great coffee or hope there were more prayers to answer around here.
But first, scampering all the way to the office! And taking a careful bite of her cookie over her coffee cup, so she doesn't get crumbs on the floor. Which she salutes him with.]
Got it! I'm sure we'll find something in no time.
[And not, well, all the more reason to refine their searching technique! And earn that coffee, maybe. She'll put her cup down as she starts with the surface of Hayakawa's desk, going through paper work carefully.
...though she might just organize it while she's at it.]

With an armload of finds, he flops down on the leather couch - ]
Oooo comfy.
[ - and begins thumbing through the materials. ]
It's looking like our boy has a fascination with Egyptian artifacts and history.

[She held up a cheesy ancient Egyptian paperweight. They had all sorts of things these days. Who knew.
Since she was at the desk, she sat down in the chair. Oh, bad idea. This chair-]
Hooo, nice.
[Did these thing heat up like those car seats she heard about? She hoped so. Wait, getting distracted. She didn't find any brochures in his desk-mostly paperwork, memos, contacts and letters but...she was starting to get an idea.
But it would mean going into his computer. She checked for a moment to see if it was password locked, before checking for a password. Found it; it was the name of his dog, she thought. With a chuckle, she typed it in.]
Is there any mention of cruises, or anywhere he wants to go? I think I've an idea for his anniversary. A perfect romantic getaway.

[ Kisuke glances up at Masaki while holding up an advertisement for cruise line. The side panels all boast various activities like shopping, jet skiing, hiking, tours, and museums. ]
no subject
[Travel agents online. Neat! She offered him a grin, nodding.]
That's perfect. Maybe....flight to Alexandria? Go down the Nile? And if that doesn't work...I think I can find some Mediterranean cruises.
[Things are falling into place. All they have to do is lay out the temptation.]
no subject
Let's try Nile cruises and see if we can't find an affordable, but fancy hotel stay before the cruise starts. Something romantic.
[ Replacing the books, Kisuke ambles over to the computer and leans over Masaki's shoulder. ]
Oh, that one looks nice.
no subject
Oh, you're right. And they have a swim up bar and a bunch of other add ons too. Oh! Massages!
[She doesn't know what a swim up bar is, but it has to be romantic!]
no subject
[ Kisuke pursed his lips. ]
So we've got travel locked, hotel stay checked, and the cruise. Are we missing anything?
no subject
[She hums quietly under her breath.]
Did we want to rush them into going, or is this enough? I could look for a calendar entry or something, or make a post it of his wife's birthday, or something.
no subject
What'd you think?
[ Chin perched in his hands, Kisuke waits for Masaki's assessment on this particular idea. Urahara tended to be, uh, a little outlandish when trying to deliver messages. ]
no subject
[She tilts her head to stare up at him, with a weak smile. It's not a terrible idea but...it is gaudy.]
I don't have the computer skills for that. Why don't I just...leave his web browser full of this travel stuff, along with his calendar up? It might be weird, but he might take the bait.
no subject
Should work well enough. We've done all the searching for him.
[ Such helpful people that they are! ]
no subject
Exactly! And book mark it and...we're done!
[She eyes her coffee cup. Hm...]
Want to get some cookies and go to the next office?
no subject
I like this plan.
[ While he's not the chow hound, er cat, that Yoruichi is, cookies are always welcome. ]
Let's see who's next. The guy with the golfing addiction?
no subject
But she beams when he brings up that yes, there's going to be cookies.
Score!]
Yeah! And after that, I think we can go for the wine taster, and after that, the person who wants to change their career...
[Yeah, this was easy. They got this. They'd have that prayer fulfilled by dinner time!]
no subject
After you~
[ A quick stop by the lounge yields more cookies and a little intel. Looks like the meeting will run late which will, by the by, give Kisuke and Masaki more time. ]
What'd you think? Golfing classes? Some kind of tournament?
no subject
Hmmm....if Golfing classes, I think it'd have to be someone he admires? Just for that little bit of extra incentive.
[Though the tournament-a tournament close but far away-isn't bad either. She taps her finger against her chin, before glancing up.]
People always want to get closer to their idols. Maybe we can do something about that.
