TEST DRIVE # 08

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

What's a robot?

[ At the question, Pidge whipped in the direction of the voice. What's a Robot?! How could no one know what a robot was?! Her eyes were sparkling. ]

A robot is a machine that is made to perform a function! Some of them can have Artifical Intelligence and learn, they can have personalities...robots can do many things!

[You are very excited and Vella isn't sure how to process that at first.]

A machine, huh... Like an arcade or an egg beater?

Ah, well, that's the easiest way to explain it. Robots are...more like computers that you use. They think for themselves and learn things, sometimes. Other times we can control them to do certain tasks, like perform surgeries.

Oh! Wow, being a robot doctor is probably a lot of hard work.

[She wonders how long they have to work at their degrees.]

[ Pidge laughs a little bit now. It's easier to talk to someone when it's about something she can feel confident in. Though...that laugh may be misconstrued as laughing at this person. She rubbed her neck to try to play it off. ]

Well, it's not like that, doctors don't need extra training since they know how to perform the surgery, they just use a robot that has smaller extremities to be able to get into the human body without having to make invasive cuts.

[Vella has about the same level of confidence as someone who sticks used gum under a desk. Not that she would. That's just rude. In any case, she automatically laughs with Pidge, more out of habit than anything.]

Well, how does a robot become a doctor then?

[ Pidge waves her hands now, smiling a little more. ]

It's not the robot that's the doctor, it's the doctor controlling the robot. Though, I'm sure you can teach a robot to learn and become a doctor in the same way a human does.

Well if the robot wants to be a doctor, she should be allowed to become a doctor.

[Vella]

That's true, but it'd take quite a bit; it's hard to believe, but some robots have to be used by humans, or input with commands. I'm sure there's technology that allows it to learn and become anything it wants to be.

[ Pidge holds out a hand now. ]

Pidge.

If she really wants to, I bet she could do it.

[She believes in you, robot med student. Follow your dreams.]

Nice to meet you. [ Looking back at the girl, they definitely got off track. ]

Know any jokes? I don't think she's budging until we tell her some.

Same to you. [She really wanted to know about robots.]
