TEST DRIVE # 08

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

[She hadn't been paying attention at first, just offering the candy to anyone who might take it, but that voice was familiar. Sorry Omi, but this one has all her memories - the last one was seeking revenge on one particular group...]

Weiss!

[With only the candy and her rabbit at hand, she does the best she can and throws the brightly colored sweets at him.]

[She remembers...!

Thankfully, Omi was prepared for that possibility. Also thankfully, she doesn't seem to have anything more dangerous on her than candy. He jumps back, managing an impressive distance with his god-given stats boost. Enough to clear her range for throwing things anyway.

He has to handle this carefully, too. With Nagi as his shinki, that makes things complicated. And so he resists his first instinct of drawing out his water to have a go right there on the spot.]

I don't want to fight you...

[This is so unfair. She doesn't have Schreient. She doesn't have her parasol. She hasn't figured out all this god stuff, and yet Weiss is here.

She's thrown the only thing she had (her rabbit is not an option). However, there's not much around she can pick up and use against him which means she's in a position where she has to listen to him, whether or not she wants to.]

Then don't. You can just stand there and let Tot hurt you.

[She's really got some audacity saying that!

Again, the instinct is to reach for the water, and again, he holds back. For now.]

This isn't like home, you know! There's more to consider than who was fighting who there.

[Just because he doesn't want to fight doesn't mean she doesn't want to hurt him. It makes perfect sense as far as she's concerned.]

Like what? Papa is hurt, Neu is gone, and it's all your fault.

Like the fact that you're the only Schreient here right now, which makes you outnumbered in a clash. Or the fact that if you insist on fighting me, it may turn even more people here against you. If that happens, this becomes a battle you can't possibly win.

Is this really worth that to you?

[See Omi, this is why you're so terrible. Who would think of turning people against such a cute girl?

She understands how bad this is, but that doesn't mean she wants to back down. No matter what some people might think, though she's not stupid.]

Then what do you want?

[She'll just have to wait a little longer before she can get her revenge on him.]

All I want is to not have to fight you. Given the circumstances, that ought to be a desire we share.

But if you're determined to have it, name your time and place. I'll be there.

[That would be better than having her feel like ambush is the only recourse, anyway.]

[Wasn't here and now a time and place? But fine, if that's the way he's going to be.]

What circumstances?

[Her own little world is just a bit more important than the big picture at the moment.]

I just told you, didn't I? You're in a really bad position to be fighting me here.

[He hasn't even touched on the two big ones, and he doesn't plan to either. If she insists on fighting, she can see for herself what a disadvantage she's at now in simple terms of fighting power. Nagi, of course, is best kept out of this as much as possible. At best, it seems cruel to use him against her when he has no memory of their caring for each other. At worst, Tot could make a fatal error and tell him something dangerous that would transform him into an ayakashi.]

[She huffs at that. What did he think she was, some little kid?]

For now! If you're just going to rub Tot's nose in it, you can just go away.

[Balking.]

[He seriously cannot believe this girl.]
