TEST DRIVE # 08

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

[Sokka feels so in his element! Or so he thinks! It's not that he remembers, but jokes, man, jokes. Those sound like his kind of thing.]

What's it called when a cat wins a dog show? [Wait for iiiiiiit...] A Cat-Has-Trophy!

[The girl doesn't laugh. She just seems to be staring at Sokka like he happens to be an idiot. So let's just explain the joke?]

You know, because it's a catastrophe that a cat has a trophy which should go to the dog? Does that make sense?

[Knights Knives]

[Well, finding the swords is a good prayer. He has a really good feeling about it. Swords should be easy to find in a place like this. Except when said sword happens to knick him when he picks it up and accidentally drops it.

Sokka spends the next few minutes just staring at his hand.] ...... is blood supposed to be pink?

[Neon Nourishment]

[Expect a very excited guy to come up to your character with an armful of snacks and just hand you one.]

You have got to try this one! It's amazing! It's got some kind of fruity red filling, but there's no fruit in it!

[Jelly filing is the greatest discovery of the day!]

[Oh, she recognizes this one. And whether he'll do the same is of little concern to her. The joke is pathetic-- any joke you felt you needed to explain the punchline for was. Azula stands with one hand on her hip, looking slightly down her nose at the Water Tribe boy. By the smirk on her face, one might get the impression she's in on a joke, all right, but it isn't the one he told.]

Hilarious.

[Ha, here Tailmon was taking advantage of her smallish size plus abilities that come with being a cat to avoid the other excited guy who probably passed sweets off onto this one! Can't avoid a fellow denizen of the realm of spirits quite so easily, apparently.

She's too taken aback and... well, casually curious more than anything to just bluntly decline, so she takes what he's handing over, looking him in the face like what she is - someone trying to quickly make sense of a stranger out of nothing.

Her interest mounts a little once she's taken it in her paws, and once she does, she goes on ahead and focuses entirely on it. Her eyes narrow just a bit, she leans in, sniffs it... can't smell much of anything past sugar and bread, so okay, she'll bite. Literally and figuratively. Chews a couple of bites, and... hel-lo, she knows what this is. Looks back up at the fellow, and asks plainly.]

You mean berry jam?

[She's not asking sarcastically, though she is pretty sure that's what it is, or that that's close enough to what it is - she's honestly asking herself who exactly would be that excited over the novelty of a berry-jam-like substance.]

I think blood does what it wants.
