TEST DRIVE # 08

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

Mochi is sticky, weirdly soft, and it gets stuck in your throat, and there's weird white powder on it...

[Meaning he's choked on it and can't tell you anything past that.]

Isn't that just flour? So you don't have to get your hands all sticky when you eat it.

I don't know how mochi's made. I only now how to make cake and cookies. All the other stuff they sell has red bean, green tea, or some other weird center.

[Sesame seed paste was a very interesting surprise.]

[She has to stop and think about it.]

I'm not really sure either. I don't think I've ever made any sweets, could you teach me?

[He nods.]

Sure! It's mostly just fruit and chocolate things.

No red bean! Let's do that!

Where should we go? What should we get? Flour, right? Flour and fruits?

Hold on. It's easier to make a list if we figure out what we're making first!

Oh.

You're right. [She laughs sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.]

Um... Chocolate chip cookies?

[That's easy! He counts off the ingredients.]

Butter, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, flour, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, and chocolate chips.

Two different kinds of sugar?

Okay! Where's the nearest grocery stop?

Yeah. The brown sugar isn't a super sweet as white sugar, and it helps give the cookies their color. If you made it with just white sugar, it'd be gross sweet, and the cookies would be the color of sugar cookies!

[He's been at this for a while now. How he wishes Aki was here.]

We should be close to one. Come on!

[This god knows where to get things. Just follow him.]

Oooh, but sugar cookies sound great too! We should make both!

[She'll follow along, excited at the prospect of anything that isn't full of red bean paste.]

Sure. They don't take that long.

[Store~ Store~ They're at the store!]

This place is small, but it's got what we need.

Yaaay~!

[She practically jumps for joy at the confirmation.]

White and brown sugar, butter and chocolate chips and...? There was a lot more stuff, right?

[Enthusiasm is a good thing!! He nods before grabbing them each a shopping basket.]

Why don't you get that stuff and I'll grab the others?

Okay! We'll meet back here, right?

[He nods, taking a quick look around for reference.]

Right!

[Off he goes to grab everything that she didn't mention.]

[She comes back with the sugars, chocolate chips and the butter. Once she sees Roxas again, she waves.]

Did you find everything?

Yeah. I got some sprinkles for the sugar cookies. I know that's usually for Christmas but they had little star ones.

[He likes stars!]

Oooh, stars are great too. The sky's so pretty at night.

[She brandishes her basket, full of ingredients. Maybe too many ingredients.]

I got everything too. I didn't know how much we needed or how much were were gonna make, so I grabbed as much as I could fit!

[Stop her.]

[............... T-That.. is just... He sighs softly and takes her basket, setting it on the nearest flat surface and digging through it.]

That's way too many chocolate chips. We're not making cookies for everyone. There's a ton of people here.

[She pouts a bit.]

But we could, right? We could make a ton of friends that way!

But I'm not a god of food. Wouldn't that be weird?

[She'd need someone else for that.]

What's so weird about it? We'd just be making friends!

We'd be making cookies for days!
