Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Junky Jokes
There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.
The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.
There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!
Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!
Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!
Lightning Farron | Final Fantasy XIII | God
[Lightning and swords go hand in hand. She's on this mission and prayer as soon as everything was explained. It'll be simple enough to find something like that since it seems in this world at least these items would stand out. Just like she does.
Try not to get in her way. She might be more friendly than she looks if you choose to help instead. Maybe.]
Ludicrous Lightning
[Yes, she is quite aware that her name is the same as the weather currently.
Helping out people is something she can do easily. Lightning is used to doing requests and answering prayers. It's a simple task. Make sure nothing is nearby that could short out and catch fire is her main focus here. You might see her just casually walking in and out of houses/apartments/etc. Feel free to help or stop her and ask her what she's up to.]
Neon Nourishment
[FOOD IS FOOD. Lightning likes food. Lighting does not turn down the many snacks she's been handed, instead just standing nearby and chowing down. The candy and cakes aren't bad. Who knows, she might be willing to share the haul she's got.]
neon nourishment!
[ Don't mind the small blonde watching Lightning eat. That food looks really... um, colorful? ]
no subject
They're not that bad.
no subject
[ She takes it--carefully--and bites into it. Her eyes light up, and she chews and swallows before looking up at her. ]
It's very good!
no subject
A lot of them have the same kind of filling. There's a few with fruit instead of cream.
no subject
I'm not sure I could eat too many, though.
no subject
[Sharing is caring, right?]
no subject
[ ... since he looks so enthusiastic. ]
no subject
Cherries. Not bad. I think I've got another one of these if you want it.
(no subject)
crummy weather
She basically just happens to wander out of the house right next to the one Lightning was in by pure chance.]
Mm? Are you here to help with the power outage issue, too?
no subject
In my own way, yes.
no subject
I thought so.
I think they're handling this better than I expected.
no subject
You'd think they'd be panicking with the weather, but they must be used to the occasional blackout. Yet you'll still find the idiots who try and rough it out. Those are the ones I'm looking for.
no subject
[She speaks from experience.]
no subject
[She would. She has. She'll do it again.]
no subject
... but enough about that! Have you already checked all of the previous houses on this side of the street? I've visited all of them up to this point.
no subject
She nods.] I was going to check the next street over.

Knights Knives
He wouldn't pay attention to a sword in stone set in park, there are various displays around the park, changing often. This is different, because someone got hurt. A group of teenagers tried to pull the sword from the stone for fun, only to find out that it's still sharp. They were taken to emergency care, but Genos witnessing it, decides to try and remove the sword.
There is no information regarding it being an actual display, it's probably a prank, a dangerous one. ]
no subject
I take it this isn't a prop. Must be one of the missing swords from the museum.
[She takes a glance at the man who had the same idea. He looks strong enough.]
Why don't you give it a shot. I've got a few potions if it decides to bite you.
no subject
I was going to do that. [ Genos answers quite rudely.
He's more careful than he initially planned though. He's not afraid of being cut, not with his metal arms and cyborg physiology. But if another Far Shorer is interested in the sword, there is a small chance of it being related to ayakashi.
He grips the handle and starts pulling the sword out with no problem-- until it suddenly stops mid-way. It won't budge past that point. ] --how?
no subject
Lightning crosses her arms and watches the display. This feels like something out of a story book.]
It might not deem you worthy of removing it.
[She chuckles and moves her hands to her hips. If anything it was an ayakashi. Maybe a spell.]
I can use dispel on it and see if that works. If not then I'll zap and stun whatever's holding it back.
no subject
[ Genos tries one more time, this time with both his hands. The strain is so serious his internal fans start to whir louder. That's the point he gives up, with a huff and takes step back and gestures at the sword ]
Your turn. [ If that doesn't work he can just smash the rock itself, or something ]
no subject
[Does she look like a holy grail that serves as a vessel for a dead goddess? Nope. Just like a regular woman.
Light flexes her hand and grabs the handle. Let's try a dispel first. Things don't feel much different... Lightning gives it an experimental tug. She manages to pull the sword out further than he did at least.]
If it's a ayakashi then it's a pretty tricky one.
no subject
[ He crouches next to the stone as if he was trying to assess it. He even pokes it few times. ]
Alternatively how much do you care about that sword being in one piece?
no subject
I don't care, but the museum might.
