TEST DRIVE # 08



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

[She hadn't been paying attention at first, just offering the candy to anyone who might take it, but that voice was familiar. Sorry Omi, but this one has all her memories - the last one was seeking revenge on one particular group...]

[With only the candy and her rabbit at hand, she does the best she can and throws the brightly colored sweets at him.]

[Right, she can't say that one. Not that she really knew him like she did her family, but she knew enough. She knew Nagi liked her, that he was special, and that she liked him as well. That's all she needed.

Except he doesn't know her at all.]

[ Sometimes, he's not sure if it's better or worse to have your memories. Most gods he's met seem to miss their past lives. Nagi thinks it wouldn't make a difference to him one way or the other. ]

[You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Or in the case of shinki, until you get it back.]

You don't remember your family and friends from before. [That is really, really sad. She has an idea, though. One the others would be proud of her for!] But you can make new ones, right?

[ Not that Nagi is very good at making new friends. Mainly because he doesn't put in the effort. People around him seem friendly enough. He doesn't dislike them, which is something? ]

My name is Nagi.

[ He's not sure why he says it. It's not like he's ever introduced himself first to anyone before. But it seems fair, since he already knows her name. ]

[They just have to start over, and it'll all be the way it's supposed to again.]

[There's a giggle as she says it since she's just so pleased with how things have turned around. She can do this. Even if it is just her - and whoever her shinki is.]

[ He nods briefly, feeling almost chagrined that he can't seem to say nice to meet you too. Even though maybe for the first time ever, he thinks he could actually mean it if he did bring himself to say it.

It's just something about her that's almost comfortable in a way that he's never really felt around anyone here, yet. He can't imagine why. ]

[How does it feel, being potentially rescued by a girl with a broom? Amane's trying to hit their hands with the broom, hoping it's enough to force them to let go.]

She's a rather hard to please child, I'm afraid. You aren't the only one who's failed. I've been here all afternoon and there hasn't been a single successful attempt.

[And he just falls into step next to her. Usually he would be hanging off of her by about now since personal space and him never really computed but he was going to be nice and not crowd her. He may dress like a punk, there were times he could nice.

If anything, they might enjoy a bit of fun during work hours.

[Roxas has no doubts that this particular Riku would be entirely capable of finding answers on his own. There are computers in this world, and a network that connects a great deal of its information readily available to them...but this is more efficient.

And ultimately, efficiency wins out]

Knight's Knives

The museum seemed as good of a place to start as any, most thieves are human so there are human means. The first step was to get to the security device and see if it had been tampered with or if some data somewhere was hiding the means used, after that it was simply moving a step back to the traffic cameras outside, the ATM cameras, and any other recording devices.

"Hrm, I'm not used being ignored like this but I guess it works. Now to find the security center of this museum."

Ludicrous Lightning

"Power transmission is probably the issue."

She looked up at the lightning and tilted her head. The lightning itself, even if attached to a proper battery doesn't have the staying power to charge batteries and support the people. With that she moved about looking for a repair crew, something she could see to see how the power was being maintained.

Neon Nourishment

Ruri looks at the cake, then the man, then shakes her head.

"Thank you, but I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with this, it doesn't look like food."

Some days he gets roped into helping out other gods and shinki who he’s not even technically allied with—and this is just one of those days wherein he’s resigned to it.

And he’s only a lot less abrasive due to the fact that unlike most of the denizens of the Far Shore, she is relatively quiet, ladylike, and polite. And likely difficult to sass, anyway.

“I am afraid my ability to manipulate this technology is limited, milady.” Being from a medieval fantasy kinda sucks like that. “How does one begin to seek out such a place?”

I wanted to be different, everyone else was bolding, I chose to Comic Sans!

"Well, usually ask someone. However it doesn't seem like people are paying much attention to us. I guess we could just break a display case and see where they come running from but that may not be the best thing either as I'm not 100% sure how unnoticeable we are. I mean are we truly invisible, or simply seen as someone else's problem?"

Ruri looks up at the cameras, then look to the nearest guard, "What are your specialties? Are any of them convincing someone to take an early lunch break?"

[ His eyes narrow as she looks up at him and when the rack begins to fall Zero moves to intercept, capturing the rack before it tips into the others beside it. ]

Are you okay?

[ He asks the girl, their customer, letting Talimon take the lead in regards to her safety though he does add in that she should let them handle the problem on their own. ]

What, think I should? Okay! You have to pay for dinner.

[He grabs a sheet of paper off the printer and a big, black marker from the desk, writing in messy but clearly legible characters, GENERATOR DELIVERY IN 1 - 2 DAYS, INQUIRE AT OFFICE FOR DETAILS.]

Come on, I think our job here is done! Off to see what fine eating establishments are still open. What do you think of Chinese? Or Italian!
