Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Zombie Zoo
A local zoo is having a very serious problem. Specifically, a large number of its dead animals have suddenly come back to life! These animals have all died sometime in the past, over several decades, but now they're crawling out of their grave sites to join the other other animals in the zoo. It's not that they're causing any trouble, they act exactly as they did in life. It's just... really creepy, honestly.
A popular arcade is under siege by restless spirits. No matter how warm the owners try to keep the gaming areas, it's like an arctic tundra inside. The cold is starting to mess with the gaming systems and very few patrons are willing to deal with subzero temperatures just to play some dumb video games. It's quite likely there's an ayakashi plaguing the store, but it's a matter of finding out where exactly it's hiding.
Japan is taking some initiative to adopt a new system for the young people being born into their country! Much like Finland, they are starting a tradition where each new baby has a box of essentials gifted to their parents, which can also serve as a crib while the baby is still small enough to fit inside. You've been enlisted to help put these boxes together! Have fun with all the baby food and diapers.
Every god needs to be promoted, how else will they get followers, right? So that's your job! Go promote your god or, if you're a god, promote yourself! Whether your calling card is literally a card with your phone number or some graffiti sprayed onto every bus in Tokyo, it's all fair game. Just make sure it's going to bring in the customers.
An odd spirit has started following you around. It's the spirit of a dog, who is very intent on getting back to its master. Apparently its master really needs the dog in order to keep living a happy life, that's what you've gathered from all the barking and shoving at least. Whether you decide to help the dog find its master or help it reach the next world is up to you.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!
Calling card!
Finally, Ayumu decides to get a closer look. She angles a subtle beeline for the girl and then casually knocks into her, as if she simply wasn't watching where she was going.]
Oops, I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention! Are you okay?
no subject
[Psyche exhaled and turned to the older woman. She managed a polite smile]
It's okay. I'm okay, really. Are you?
no subject
[Ayumu can't quite tell what the girl's doing in the person's bookbag but she doesn't seem to be stealing anything. But then again, she'd have to be a very bold thief, indeed, to try something with Ayumu in such close proximity.]
I didn't mean to interrupt your... er, investigation.
[That should work well enough to get her an in. It's clear Ayumu saw something so maybe the girl will tell her what she wants to know without her having to ask directly.]
no subject
[It really was. However, the woman's second comment drew a flicker of confusion across Psyche's face.]
Um, investigation?
no subject
[Ayumu tilts her head quizzically.]
You were looking for something in that girl's bag, weren't you?
no subject
[Psyche's face heated a little. Technically, she wasn't doing something wrong (at least, nothing that was Blight-worthy, she didn't think). However, she still felt self-consciousness and an unconscious sense of tension at having been seen.
[...However, the woman also was part of the Far Shore so she should understand. She hoped.]
I wasn't...looking exactly. [After a moment, she held out one of the slips of paper to the woman.] I was just leaving a message for them. Really.
no subject
[Ayumu takes the slip of paper, reading it carefully. What a nice idea - leaving stories and prayers for the Near Shore residents to find. She hands it back.]
That's a good idea. Mind if I borrow it?
[Ayumu's not much of a storyteller but she might be able to manage some haiku. And she needs to spread her influence, too.]
no subject
[There's an unconscious release of tension in her shoulders. She still felt a bit of self-consciousness but she couldn't think of a reason why she shouldn't share when she was passing it out anyway.]
I've got others.
no subject
[Quite generous of her, really. Technically, Ayumu's a rival of sorts to the girl's god. Attention drawn to her is attention taken away from the other gods in Heaven. Or at least, that's how Ayumu understands it.]
How long have you been at this? You look tired.
[Ever the pragmatist, Ayumu's always on the look out for potentially useful shinki to sway to her keeping.]
no subject
[She paused. How long had it really been? It only occurred to her, then, her feet twinged a little. However, she hadn't really thought to worry about that sort of thing - it felt almost natural to just keep going.]
For a while, I guess.
