Test Drive #24

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!
Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.
"O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!"
The “lyricist” Sato Sano didn’t get the memo about this famous saying, and now is thoroughly ensnared in his own lies. His shadow writer under duress is leaving him, threatening to expose him for the fraud he is! Which would basically be the linchpin to make his whole (rich and comfortable) life come crashing down. But the shadow writer conceded that if Sano can write one decent song on his own, she wouldn’t completely ruin his life. He desperately needs some divine inspiration to save his hide…
Or perhaps he should get what he deserves?
A hobby that has been exploding recently has been extreme makeup. The makeup artists create incredibly real illusions using just a palette of colours.
Recently, a rumour has been circulating about people taking on the traits of the character they paint on their face to an unusual level- dolls become completely carefree, vampires have a sudden and serious aversion to sunlight, and most concerning of all, skeletons have reportedly been getting into accidents. Nothing life-threatening… yet.
Is it coincidence, internet fiction, or is something more going on?
There are many difficult and dirty jobs that go uncelebrated in our modern cities filled with convenience. Recently the folks who skillfully gut fish day after day, up to their elbows in blood and foul entrails, have been feeling dissatisfaction over their job. Those feelings have been attracting ayakashi, which in turn have amplified the ire of the workers to intense levels.
Needless to say, anything affecting production will soon affect fish-loving Japan, so the call has gone out to banish the ayakashi. (And mediating the worker’s issues would certainly be a bonus.)
Although the Christmas season is far more low-key in Japan than other countries, many families have founded their own traditions. And the whole country has bought into a tradition based on one simple message: “Chicken for Christmas.”
It’s no wonder that every KFC employee across the country will start praying to any god who will listen, “Please help me get through December 25th in one piece.”
Come lend these people a hand! (How hard could it be to work a fryer?) Come be awed by the sheer volume of Christmas set buckets being sold. Come be staggered by the lines snaking around the block of people who didn’t pre-order. (Come try to lure some of them away with off-brand fried chicken? Or stand in line yourself?)
Do try to keep up a cheerful spirit! It’s the holidays, after all!
People could use a little more happiness in their lives, right? A chocolate company trying to boost their appeal is wanting to spread smiles by printing a variety of happy puns on their chocolate and nut bar wrappers.
Help them come up with a variety of good ones, or give a hand test-marketing some that have been already printed. (Let’s hope there’s more smiles than groans…)

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!

H-Hey! That's unfair!
[ She says that but what she does next is probably more unfair. Mordred kicks off from where she'd been standing, essentially launching herself through the doorway and missing Kanade's trailing hair by an inch. Mordred's not one-hundred percent sure why she can do stuff like this, but she's pretty sure she could move even faster if she really wanted to.
But something in the back of her mind tells her someone could get hurt if she does that so maybe it's best to hold back a bit.]

But then she hunkers down into a sprinting position herself. ] Now we're talkin'.
[ Kanade is pretty fast, especially for her height. Still, given that Mordred has a head start and can do.....that.....it's pretty much all but guaranteed Kanade doesn't stand a chance.
But from the way she's now racing to try and close that gap, she doesn't seem to think so. ]
