TEST DRIVE # 15

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Sneaky Snakes

There are a number of snakes that have become possessed by a bunch of very sneaky ayakashi. They are slithering around, silently, snaring unsuspecting passersby into their trap - their trap to steal money. That's right, these snakes are busy snatching bills and coins from whoever they can. Try to put a stop to their thieving ways, or perhaps get thieved by them yourself.

Tummy Troubles

Many of the customers of a certain restaurant are complaining of the fact that their stomachs hurt after eating there. It could just be food poisoning, but many of these people are winding up in critical condition after a couple of days. It's time to figure out what the heck this cook is actually putting in the food.

Underwhelming Underwear

A family run business has been selling underwear for generations, but the underwear they sell is super boring and bland. Nobody wants to buy from them when cooler underwear is just around the corner. They've asked you to help them bring customers back in - by making their boring underwear seem as cool and hip as possible! How you do that is up to you.

Vividly Violet

There are so many ayakashi making their way through the air that at sunset the sky is turning an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple. Near Shore residents are reacting to this in varying ways. Many are delighted by the beautiful sky, but just as many are terrified that it's a sign of the end of times. Try to take down some ayakashi to make the sky less purple. Or just sit back and watch the beauty.

Wonder Wall

Anyways, there's this college boy who won't stop playing his acoustic guitar. He's from the US and is trying to pick up Japanese chicks. By now he should've somehow realized that they're totally not interested in him. But the song just keeps getting louder and louder and all that the people near the campus can hope is that today is gonna be the day that he stops playing. Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves them.

Let's see...so what would make underwear good quality....

Holding its shape, elasticity, longevity, and the way it's made?

[Tsuna isn't really good at thinking with his head. Especially when it comes to school. However, when Makoto lists off the various things they could test about the underwear, somehow he gets some pretty insane ideas.]

Maybe whether it's bulletproof, shock resistant, waterproof, fire retardant...machine washable?

[Sadly a lot of these are said from experience. Very bad experiences.]

[Makoto makes a face at that then lets out a hesitant chuckle.]

Aha...well machine washable is a good idea.

[Because the rest of those were a little extreme and he is too nice to just shoot those down so bluntly.]

So we can do what you said earlier and compare them side-by-side. We can get a mannequin to display them, too.

[ Tsuna's just happy to contribute something to their demonstration. A mannequin will be a good way to show differences. They should probably have two to allow people to have an accurate comparison.]

I'm sure they have some mannequins they aren't using in their storage room.

[Though Tsuna is curious of how they are going to perform the demonstration.]

So how are we going to do the testing? Maybe we can stretch a pair between the both of us, and see how far it stretches before losing it's shape?

[Makoto nods at the idea. It seems like they'll be able to help this store out! That is always a good thing.]

Yeah! First we can show how they were made by showing the stitching and stuff? [He didn't really know a lot about that, but that was important to some people.]

Then we can let people feel the fabric. Then we can do the stretch test and then....maybe rub some rougher fabric against it? Like jeans.

[ Tsuna definitely didn't care about the stitching. As long as it holds together, he has little interest in it.

He nods at Makoto as he lists off other ways he intends to issue the demonstrations. Though Tsuna is curious of one of the methods. Rough fabric?]

Uh, what would the rougher fabric show? Like if it starts to pile or tear against it?

[He can see how some material could ruin delicate underwear. Tsuna thinks of something else, it's one thing to do an event like this, but how are they going to get people to pay attention?]

How should we draw people in? People might feel weird about testing out underwear in broad daylight.

[At least he feels a little weird about it.]

Hm...
[That was a good point. Underwear can be pretty private and people don't always make their preferences known. And how would they attract people?]

I'm not too sure about that... I think we should do it in the store, but we need to pull people into the store. Flyers normally don't work that well.

[Although his idea is good, it will be a challenge for people to participate as Makoto is now seeing. If they were doing it inside the store, it might make customers more comfortable. Though how to attract the masses to even come inside is another obstacle.]

Maybe if there's like fireworks, or some kind of display?
