What's that? You're interested in testing out what it would be like to join the wonderful world that is The Far Shore? Well then you have come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see how you would fare in our game without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Alleviating Ayakashi
The age-old quest of destroying ayakashi is something that most gods and shinki participate in at some point or another. Lucky for you, there are a lot of the nasty things around. Unlucky for you, they kind of think that eating you would be a lot of fun. So let's hope you're experienced enough at combat to kill them! Or at least avoid them long enough for someone else to…
A request has come in from someone who is missing a person who was in their life a long time ago. They want you to find that person and bring them back, no matter what it takes! Unfortunately, the only description you're getting of the person is from when they were seven, and they're likely in their fifties now. But that little picture the requester gave you might help you in your search if you ask enough people! That is, if you can get their attention long enough to ask…
There are a lot of couples around lately and certain followers are so jealous of them that they are praying for certain couples to be torn apart. That might not be your cup of tea, but then again it might be, who knows! All you know is that the lovers you're following around are a couple of the most nauseatingly cute people you've ever seen in a relationship. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to break them up after all, just for the sanity of everyone around them…
Of course, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, there are plenty of young Japanese boys praying that they will receive chocolates from the girls that they like. Are you willing to play a little game of match-making? And how exactly are you supposed to push two people together when neither of them tends to notice you for long? Ah well, love is in the air and you might as well help it along!
Valentine's Day isn't only celebrated by the people of the Near Shore, though. Those of the Far Shore are often placed in positions where they have to exchange chocolates. So what exactly are you going to do? This can be obligation chocolate, friendship chocolate, chocolate to express your love, or anything else you can think of.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!

Have fun!
Yuya Sakaki | Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V | Shinki
[Why is there a red dragon running and jumping across rooftops? Who knows, but luckily it isn't drawing any of the humans attention. Is it an ayakashi? Might want to check that out.]
{Entertainer}
[Interacting with humans may be frowned upon, but Yuya can't help himself when it comes to kids. Especially ones that seem lonely on a playground or crying because they skinned their knee. Yuya's always ready to make some funny faces or start a juggling act to cheer them up. It all comes naturally to him, which is why he sometimes hangs around swing-sets and sandboxes when he's got nothing to do, and it makes him wonder if he was a big brother before.
But he may be spending too much time playing with the living. Feel free to scold him or join in on some antics.]
{Exchanging Endowments}
[Despite losing his memories, Yuya is always one to celebrate holidays...even if it's something embarrassing like Valentines day. He does have to question it though as he parks himself on a bench and turns the heart-shaped box of chocolates that he just acquired in his hands.]
Is this even right? I thought the guys' turn is White day...Oh well. [No harm, no foul. Still, something doesn't sit well with him. Maybe it's because he can't remember if he had anyone to give chocolate to (or RECEIVED any, and what kind).
{Wildcard: Feel free to throw down any prompt you want.}
Dragon? Sounds like fun
It doesn't feel ayakashi, at least not from here, but then what the hell is it? ]
Only one way ta find out.
[ He frowns, and a brightly glowing tarot card appears in his hand. Kanji shatters it with less than a thought, and a lightning bolt lances out of the sky towards the dragon.
It's a weak attack, barely even counting as one, feeling more like a static discharge than even a taser, let alone an actual lightning bolt. ]
no subject
A weak attack like that can't compare to 2500 ATK-- or...well...make that 2300 ATK now.Yuya really should be watching his surroundings, buuut he's also been good with taking blows in his previous life. The bolt hits its target, and the dragon squawks in surprise before turning towards the teen. However, instead of making a counterattack, the monster lowers its head and waves its
tiny Trexarms in surrender.]Whoa, wait! I'm friendly, I'm a shinki! Don't attack! [The telepathic voice that echoes from the dragon sounds like a kid in distress. Yuya's not one for picking fights, after all.]
no subject
Wait- yer a shinki? Dude, badass!
[ Kanji grins and makes his way up to the rooftops to get a better look at his fellow shinki, the faint blue glow around his hands vanishing altogether. ]
I didn't know there were dragon shinki!
no subject
At least Yuya calms down enough to raise his head, now towering over the older teen. He still can't get over the new height of his dragon form gives him since...he's a little under average height for his age. (ALTHOUGH HE'LL NEVER ADMIT IT!)]
Er, I'm actually human. [Dead...but still human.] My...master [oh so begrudgingly said] forgot to turn me back.
[More like purposely ditched him in this form, probably.] So I'm kind of stuck like this till he returns.
no subject
[ Kanji rocks back on his heels, looking the giant red dragon over with something like admiration. Damn, that's badass. ]
Yer master- you mean your god? This your shinki form?
[ Because damn, he wanted a form change if that's the case.
Could they get form changes? Either way, that was a badass other form. ]
no subject
I guess I am sort of a shape-shifter, huh? I got this form and a weapon one, but I figured it's better to be in this one 'cause I can still move around.
[Although he's mainly kept to the rooftops as to not attract attention while on the streets below.]
Are you a god or shinki? [The dragon moves its head about to survey Kanji, looking for the tell-tale sign of a shinki name.]
no subject
I'm a shinki, yeah. Onna the new ones.
[ He shoves his hands into his pockets, slouching slightly. ]
So yer just stuck like this until yer god turns you back? That's shit luck.
Entertainer - when they haven't met each other yet
They look alike - that is the main reason why Yuto continues to watch the other. Isn't it odd that once you're dead you suddenly see someone with exactly the same face as yours? Yuto thinks so, too, and with sadness appearing in is expression he wonders if this person isn't his twin.
Yuto has no memory of his life, he doesn't know for sure. And frankly, he doesn't even know how to approach the other boy. So he keeps observing from the shadow, silent. Maybe even if they are (were?) siblings he shouldn't approach the other. It would be too sad to meet your family and realize you're both dead.
...They're both only fourteen too.
A heavy sigh escapes Yuto's lips.]
no subject
Yuto pings on Yuya's radar after awhile, given that the only ones around are children and their parents. The only odd ones out are him...and the shadowy figure standing by. To be honest, the person seems pretty sketchy at first glance, but after Yuya squints at the other teen for a few seconds, it becomes apparent that he can see how similar they are. The red-head looks dumbfounded at first then ends up rubbing the back of his hand against his eyes to get rid of the prickling sensation.
He must be family. How could they not be related when they look so much alike?
But the real question is, can he see him? Is he still alive or a spirit like Yuya had become?
There's only real way to find out.]
Hey-!! [Yuya raises an arm and waves frantically at his twin. It's something a human wouldn't notice, and how scary would it be to see a dead family member all of a sudden! Which is why he resists running over immediately.]
no subject
So he's been noticed. Yuto shifts somewhat awkwardly, then finally moves to step out of the shadow. He's looking straight at the other and that alone should be enough to ensure his twin that Yuto can see him.
He frowns a little. It is scary, isn't it? For a moment he wonders if maybe he should have left the moment he had been noticed. But then he thinks to himself that he couldn't have done that. He wants to... he wants to know who this person is. He wants to talk to his twin.
Even if it's scary, even if it's sad.]
Hey. [He says eventually in a quiet voice as he takes another step towards his twin.]
no subject
It's a terrible mixture that makes his heart leap into his throat, and before he can swallow it down, Yuya's legs move. He bolts at his twin, dodging children and strollers before he practically tackles Yuto and wraps his arms around him. And he's not letting go anytime soon.]
A-ahhh...! [He's already a blubbering mess when he reaches the other, and he can't form a complete sentence or any one word momentarily. All there is a choked sob at first because he's so excited that he's not so alone but also distraught that they've meet like this. Dead and without a lick of memory. He can't even remember a name--]
Sorry...I'm sorry! I can't remember anything...But I have to have known you-! [Because they look too much alike to be coincidence.]
no subject
Yuto hesitantly wraps his arms around his twin, pulling him close, feeling that he himself is close to tears. He takes a deep breath to collect himself.
They have to be siblings and feeling this kind of connection, knowing that you are not alone even though you don't remember anything is reassuring, but...
They are both dead.]
...Don't apologize. [Yuto mutters, as his eyes close.] ...I can't remember anything either, but I'm sure this can't be coincidence.
[Grieve seeps into his voice as he speaks.]
no subject
Mn...Right. [They're both in agreement then. Maybe they even died the same way.
That's too sad of a thought, though, and the anguish in Yuto's voice is hard to listen to. This should be a happier moment.]
It's Yuya. [The red-head sits up and releases his hold in order to wipe the wetness from his face.] My name's Yuya.
no subject
When Yuto hears the other's name his eyes widen a little.]
Yuya. [He repeats to himself quietly.
Even their names are similar. It's just another poof that they must have been twins.
Yuto falls silent for a moment, looking down before he finally says:]
...I'm Yuto.
no subject
Yuto...I'm glad! That we get to be with each other again. I'm really glad. [They both have each other, so they're not alone. It's something he's incredibly grateful for.
But if they're really going to stick together, there's a few things to go over:]
Hey, did you become a shinki yet? [
Leave it to Vector to NOT tell them they're both under his wing if he is his god.]no subject
...But Yuya is right. They're not alone. They have each other now, so... everything will be okay. Or at least it feels like that.
Yuto nods and manages to give his twin a small sad smile.]
I'm glad too. I really am.
[Even if he can't bring himself to wear a more happy expression, he still is as grateful as Yuya is.
And then that question.]
Yes... [Ah, right.] So who is your... god? [That sounds so strange to ask.]
no subject
Ah, so he is a shinki. That's good, although Yuya can't help the sense of disappointment that they may have separate gods. He'll just have to make sure to hang out with Yuto often when they're not working!]
Vector! He's supposed to be a stand-in for the Cthulhu god...
no subject
Yuto blinks when he hears the name of Yuya's god. And then he smiles.]
...So we have the same god, then. [His smile is warm and grateful. It's such a relief to know they won't be separated.]
1/2
.....Wait a second.......
..............................!]
Ghhh, Vector! That guy--!! [That's super important information right there! Why wouldn't he tell them?!]
no subject
[No use kicking up the dirt even though he'd really like to have known sooner.] That means we'll definitely be together! For missions and all that!
[Standing up, Yuya brushes himself off before offering his hand.] Brothers and partners. We got lucky, huh?
no subject
That's right. We know now... and he couldn't keep that from us for too long anyway.
[He takes Yuya's hand and stand up. Brothers and partners huh. He gives Yuya's hand a firm squeeze before he finally lets go.]
...It's amazing, isn't it? Just a few hours ago I wouldn't have even thought I have a brother.
[...Yes, he might had stalked Yuya for hours.
In any case, yes. They really got lucky.]
