What's that? You're interested in testing out what it would be like to join the wonderful world that is The Far Shore? Well then you have come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see how you would fare in our game without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Alleviating Ayakashi
The age-old quest of destroying ayakashi is something that most gods and shinki participate in at some point or another. Lucky for you, there are a lot of the nasty things around. Unlucky for you, they kind of think that eating you would be a lot of fun. So let's hope you're experienced enough at combat to kill them! Or at least avoid them long enough for someone else to…
A request has come in from someone who is missing a person who was in their life a long time ago. They want you to find that person and bring them back, no matter what it takes! Unfortunately, the only description you're getting of the person is from when they were seven, and they're likely in their fifties now. But that little picture the requester gave you might help you in your search if you ask enough people! That is, if you can get their attention long enough to ask…
There are a lot of couples around lately and certain followers are so jealous of them that they are praying for certain couples to be torn apart. That might not be your cup of tea, but then again it might be, who knows! All you know is that the lovers you're following around are a couple of the most nauseatingly cute people you've ever seen in a relationship. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to break them up after all, just for the sanity of everyone around them…
Of course, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, there are plenty of young Japanese boys praying that they will receive chocolates from the girls that they like. Are you willing to play a little game of match-making? And how exactly are you supposed to push two people together when neither of them tends to notice you for long? Ah well, love is in the air and you might as well help it along!
Valentine's Day isn't only celebrated by the people of the Near Shore, though. Those of the Far Shore are often placed in positions where they have to exchange chocolates. So what exactly are you going to do? This can be obligation chocolate, friendship chocolate, chocolate to express your love, or anything else you can think of.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!

[God or not, he still can't stop balking at the total lack of certain life skills with this guy. Which, at the wail against technology, is case in point. Heavy sigh time.]
You can probably edit it, you know.

[Tsuzuki looks up from the computer, ignoring the "we have no money, you idiot" look on Neku's face with practiced ease. Everybody gives him that look. Sadly, this time, it's probably true. Didn't they have a thousand yen yesterday? That might have gone on breakfast.
Anyway, figuring out how to edit the forum post is more important. He scoots to one side, giving Neku room to get to the keyboard.]
How do I do that? I've never used this thing before!

[As it is, Neku's just hooking a foot around the leg of a nearby chair and pulling it over. Might be rude to take it from a table that would potentially be seating paying customers, but it's not like they're gonna notice. It sounds like having him behind the wheel might make this go faster anyway.]
[Aaaand yep, right there, pencil icon on a little blank square. Classic edit graphic (that even his amnesiac mind knows?).]
Right here. [Click.] What were you planning to add?

I've got her name down already! But say that she was a second year student, Isesaki Number One Primary School, 1952... Oh man, I thought it would've been earlier than that! Was 1952 really that long ago? Time flies.
[He pulls a face, and holds the photo out so Neku can check the school name if he needs to.]

Uh, yeah. It's 2016, isn't it? That's like... really long ago. [Whoever his parents were, they're probably younger than this girl they're trying to find. Or were younger. Whatever.]

I think that's it. Maybe someone from the area will recognize the name, huh?
[Brightening, he points at the screen.] You can post it now! What do you want to do after that? Maybe we could take a trip to check the public records....

Orrrr we could do an Internet search and see if anything comes up in the news and that might do basically the same thing for us. [Which he's already working on. City, region. What kanji did her name use again...?] It might turn up something current if she's still in the area.
[Hopefully nothing comes up in the obits. That would kinda suck.]

[It's amazing what you miss when you miss 15 or so years. Forum posts are a lot more complicated now too. Tsuzuki perches on the edge of the desk, peering at the screen.] Yeah, do that! That's a good idea.
[He really hopes she's still alive. He leans forward, squinting.]

Well here's a wedding from four years--... Nah, they're too young. Maybe a relative, though? [This calls for a better use of quotation marks in the search field one second.]

It looks like she's in the same city! So maybe? Ishida isn't all that rare a name, though, so I guess she doesn't have to be.
[And it'd be kind of weird for her to have the same first name if they're close relatives, so that's probably a coincidence. Her first name's not rare either. That's probably why there's so much stuff about other people in here.
He points out another link, some news article about a park.]
"Ishida Tomoko, 86..." Hey, I think that's about the right age! Click on that one.
