Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Illegal Irritations
Nothing supernatural about this one, there are just some guys sell illegal drugs and weaponry in some of the back alleys of Tokyo. They might solicit you to try and get your business or you might just happen upon them targeting someone else. Either way, are you really okay with letting this go on in your city?
For some strange reason, a bunch of jellyfish have taken to literally jumping out of the ocean and all over the beaches. They seem to be scared of something in the water, but be that as it may, they're scaring away all the beach tourism! Quick, figure out how to get them back in the water!
A brand new store is opening up and, as part of their grand opening, they want people to perform for their potential customers! And they're just dragging people off of the streets and shoving them into ridiculous, off-brand character costumes to do it. Whether you're part of the show or watching others make fools of themselves, it promises to be a good time.
There's a great, new brand of lingerie being sold in Akihabara that is all the rage right now. They're stylish and sexy and come in all shapes, sizes, and colors! There's even some that are themed after popular shows. But people who are buying them keep winding up missing. Coincidence?
So many birds are molting on the spot for no reason, shedding feathers all over the streets, on peoples' cars, and in any space they can get into. It's really not their fault, but darn if it's not making things difficult to do with all these feathers around! Either help clean up or figure out how to stop the mass molting!

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!
I CAN DELIVER
[It comes out a bit dryly but there's amusement riding the edges of the words as he glances at her, lifting his arms to cross them.]
I suppose not. It could very easily being something simple, such as a sickness but simple doesn't often apply here does it?
oh good because she's a disaster in the kitchen...............
[ Yes, good, that at least managed to hit its mark, judging from the brief note of almost wry amusement in his voice. And punctuating it with a gentle finger wag, that smile curling her lips didn't leave but, rather, changed slightly. Becoming a bit more analytical. ]
I'm not an expert on aviary science—
[ Really she was just going on a gut feeling, her hand curling at her lips and smile dropping finally. ]
But for something to be this widespread, and to affect so many... If it is a disease, I'm not sure that it would be something natural. But until we have more clues, I'm not sure what we can do other than clean up the mess, unfortunately.
Please don't destroy the kitchen he's begging you
Which means something related to an ayakashi must be at play, for it to happen this fast.
[Unless it was something that they didn't have an explanation for. Wouldn't that be wonderful.
The bispeckled man sighs and let's his arms drop, giving a nod.]
Getting a start on the clean up process sounds like a rather solid idea to me. Not much else for us to do just yet and the sooner things get cleaned up, the better.
no guarantees friend
[ Which doesn't exactly bode well here, since she can hardly do anything by herself. All they can do is hope that they will be left well enough alone.
Still, seeing him deflate somewhat, Lux gives a gentle shrug. ]
Then it's a good thing that there are two of us here, things will go much quicker that way.
[ And if they stay near where the affected birds roost, they might be able to uncover some sort of clue to this strange occurrence and the ayakashi behind it.
A beat as she began to bend down to get to work, then a glance up and over her shoulder at him. ]
I'm not sure I caught your name.
heavy sigh
[He's only just met this person and he finds himself enjoying their company a fair bit, her wit and intelligence something he can definitely appreciate.
The young man follows suit as she starts to get to work, kneeling down and starting to gather up a nice size pile of feathers.]
..Ignis. And you?
[Glancing over at her, eyebrow raised, he pauses in his scooping.]
I'd offer to shake hands but I'm afraid these feathers aren't as clean as they appear to be.
[He's really not sure what's all over them.]
Re: heavy sigh
Lux. It's a pleasure.
[ Beginning the dirty work of cleaning up after more than a few agitated avians, the slight blond looked over her shoulder again when he mentioned the handshake and, well— ]
Haha...
[ Yeaaaah let's. Not think about that.
A gentle hum escaping her, for the first time since they began talking her brow creased gently, a small frown spreading across her lips. ]
You would think that all the birds in this area were effected, with the mess here. I hope they're all right. I'm not sure that I've seen anything like it...
[ Not that it mattered much, considering that she was quite new to this shinki business. And before that? She was alive? Probably? Not that it really mattered, but even still. ]
I feel bad for them.
