Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!
Echoing Endlessly
Many people in the area are complaining about a strange echo following them around. It never seems to go away and, in fact, collects more and more echoes with each passing moment, creating a cacophony of sound. There have been reports of a few people slowly going crazy because of this echoing. It's your job to find what's causing it and put an end to the echoes!
The new craze has swept over the city! Everything French is so in right now, and everyone wants something newer and Frenchier to make them stand out from the crowd. Just your luck, you happen to have something very French you can peddle - or maybe you can convince someone just how French your very Japanese things are!
A very strange old shinki has left you with a very simple request: guard this door and don't let anyone through. It looks like a totally normal door on a totally normal house! You might be curious to peek through it, but it's locked and you were told not to go through yourself either...
There's an ayakashi roaming around that is literally just hundreds of hands that randomly grab people and things and move them around before disappearing. The odd thing is that they are... actually doing good things? Maybe it's a scheme to suck people into a plagued afterlife without being caught, or maybe they just really want to help people out.
There's a certain street in the downtown area that has some of the craziest rumors being spread about it. Apparently going down this street will just bring you back to the entrance, but when you turn around to head back you'll only find yourself at the entrance again. Moreover, there are a lot of creepy things that whisper and appear as you walk, more with each turn you make...

He appears next to Naruto with a little flash and puts a hand up to his forehead to watch all the clones make a huge ruckus.]
Wow! This might actually work! That's an awesome trick!
[Except it sorta sounds like the echoing is collecting all the Naruto noise too... But hey, maybe the ayakashi will get annoyed enough it'll pop out and they can rend it! Great thinking Naruto!]

Yeah! It's sure to come out if it's like this! Now we just gotta wait for it!
[ Well, he was planning to fight it alone, but hey, this guy doesn't seem bad at all! He wouldn't mind fighting alongside someone who has good sense like this! ]

[Just then there is some rumbling and the tree shakes, Sora sways and carefully keeps his balance and crosses his arms. (He's not a ninja after all) He then winces at all the noise. Looking around, he then gets a curious look on his face.]
Where's your shinki anyway?
[Yep, that's right, Sora's assuming Naruto is a god with a shinki nearby to rend the ayakashi. Naruto had a plan for that part, right? Most protags do? ...Not that Sora had much of a back up plan either- but he could call his shinki in if needed!]
((ooc: can go with throwing sora's shinki in or using naruto as a shinki for TDM only up to you!))

[ He looks so proud of his words! This protag may not have a plan, but he def. has the gift of biased narrative... After all, Sora is here and he's a god. Improvisation is always the best way! He has no idea that Sora is a god at this point, though. But shhhh. ]
((Let's go with Naruto being a new arrival who has no idea of what a Nora is and he wants to get more practice without bothering his goddess! That's what good shinki do, right?))
Whoa, it must be really angry... Any moment now!! [ He... actually has to cover his own ears here. This might be a problem. ]

But he can't comment because suddenly there is a loud growling noise and a giant ugly ayakashi rears it's head. It snickers loudly and starts to mimic Naruto's voice and starts attacking the noisy clones first.
Sora summons his keyblade on habit but glances at Naruto.]
Uhh well, my shinki isn't here right now, do you have a god? Because we're in hot water if I don't have one! Can you call your god up?
[They might not even have time because the ayakashi is ripping though the clones like butter.]

Yeah, I have a goddess, but she's not here right now! I was gonna call her on the phone— [ Like he's going to have the time for that now. At least the Naruto clones are sufficiently spread out, so that this conversation can happen. But if Sora doesn't have a shinki now, doesn't it mean he's actually in more danger than Naruto? Then he'll... he'll...
(Monster, stop mimicking and let him think.) ]
Ugh, I'm gonna beat this mocking bastard! Just use me and unname me after! Gods can do that, right?!

[Sora is a bit startled at that. He had a nora himself but that had only been because it was a last ditch effort to survive or his arm would have been ripped clean off.
Just in the middle of Sora's thought process, the giant ayakashi rears up and locks eyes on the two of them. One giant purple arm comes up and swipes violently at them, causing Sora to have to jump into the air.
There was going to be no time to get any of his shinki here.]
Alright we'll do it your way! [He shouts, as he's falling from the air slowly. He hopes Naruto is ready.
He dissipates his keyblade and starts in incantation to name Naruto as his weapon. Naruto will be changed into a vessel form, whatever that may be, and bound to Sora for the time being. Sora will see Naruto's death vividly and be connected to him.]

In short, Sora will get to see part of a ridiculously powerful fight to save the world in the middle of what looks like a war (you get to see the battle against the infinite tsukiyomi, in case you're canon familiar). tl;dr, lots of shounen spirit, and for the sake of this thread he dies fighting and giving his best! And then he'll turn into a keyblade, one that looks something like the second one here, thank you Deviantart. ]
Eeeeeeh, what's with this form? I can't fight on my own like this! Hey, can you use this thing?!
[ He usually becomes a fox for his goddess! So. Haha. This is new! ]

No time to think, Sora has to jump into the air again as the ayakashi turns on him and swings an arm. At Naruto's loud voice in his head he laughs and grins.]
Luckily for you I know exactly how to use this weapon! Don't worry Naruto, we got this! You watch my back, okay?
[Landing weightlessly on the swinging arm, Sora runs up it and drags the keyblade up the ayakashi's flesh. Because it was a shinki and not his actual keyblades, the weapon rips up purple spewing damage as he goes.]
