TEST DRIVE # 08



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

Knights Knives

[When he heard the prayers of these people, Aymeric wasted no time in accepting the assignment. As a former knight and soldier, he felt like it was his duty to see the missing weapons back. It seems this world is different and such artifacts may stick out like a sore thumb...however, when is it ever that easy?

Despite his height and the way he carries himself, he is actually pretty friendly and would not mind any assistance. Just make sure he doesn't do anything stupid like jump head first into situations.]

Lightning!

[As someone who has not lived with the wonders of electricity, Aymeric could not figure out why a lot of humans were screaming about not being able to get into that internet thing. Which makes it a bit easier to figure out how to help out. As he leaves one place, he does see another person close by and addresses them.]

Candy?! But none taste like birch sap!

[He has no idea how it's happened but every time he passes by this one man, he keeps getting candy. And every time, Aymeric gives them away to others. But this last time, the man gives him a few cake treats. He tries to tell the man that he very much appreciates the treats, he simply is not hungry. But the other keeps insisting and now the god is left with treats in his arms.

Lord Zero, for the moment most of the tenants are being provided for such as blankets or activities. What I intend to look at now is to see if there is damage done to the generator before moving on.

[ He cuts in, immediately disliking the title on sight. Why? He doesn't know. Nor does he have time to examine his reaction when those next words cut through his thoughts. ]

No one's checked it? [ He looks past him, as if the generator will magically appear, when it doesn't Zero focuses his attention back on him - you have his attention. ]

Where is it.

[ A statement, more than a question. ]

Team Zero /raises a fist slowly

[That is something to remember for next time. Aymeric is all about making sure everyone around him is comfortable and at his question, the young commander nods.]

Aye, none of the owners of this building even mentioned it as they were among the people let alone speak of one who will fix it. I know little of the technology of this world but either it was overlooked or there is something else unknown.

[It sounds weird but when you live in a world where logic is 'a voidsent/dragon did it', sometimes it pays to have an open mind. Also, both should be grateful when Aymeric taps his fingers on a piece of plastic bolted to the wall.]

According to the map here, it should be in the basement. Shall we go?

[He's even dressed normally so it's a little awkward.]

[Nephenee doesn't know much about the guy who keeps handing out the candy, but she knows he's very pushy and kind of loud, so she's kind of been. hiding from the American. And when he finally leaves poor Aymeric alone, she looks around, and whispers down at him from where's she's been hidden - a tree with thick leaves.]

E=excuse me, sir?

[He turns around and spots...a woman in the tree?]

Aye...how did you get up there?

...Ah climbed? How...else would Ah get up here?

[Serious question from said girl.]

[Oh right. Strange how he could find the right words in a crowd and yet seeing this girl, it kind of made him confused.]

N-Nay, I meant why are you up there: did something happen?

[Oh wow he has a nice voice...wait, he's talking to her, crap, answer him!]

..O-oh! Um...that fella with the sweets...um...

[How does she explain this...]

...He was really pushy an' Ah...k-kinda...climbed up her to hide from him?

[His expression changed from pure shock and softened at her reasoning. If he was in her position and terrified, he would have tried to hide as well so Aymeric really can't fault the girl. Setting the food down, he heads towards the tree and looks up.]

Aye, he is nowhere to be found.

[And he extends a hand to her. She may need some help to get down and he isn't one to shy away from it.]

[The lady seems to visibly relax at hearing the guy isn't around, but looks at the hand in confusion. She can get down alright by herself...but wouldn't it be rude to not accept the offer? Well, might as well be polite and take it. Slowly, she scoots to the edge of the trunk, and takes his hand in one of her own vambraced ones, before hopping down with the audible noise of armor colliding. The first thing that is obvious, perhaps, is said armor. She's almost in a full set, though she seems to be missing some pants. Who would design such a thing? She's also carrying a shield and lance on her back, and she's definitely close to six foot, if she isn't breaking it already, and seems to be in her twenties, with a smooth complexion and emerald eyes and hair, both hidden under her barbute.

Also, she has a pretty strong country accent.]

Th-thank ya. Looks like he kinda got a hold o'ya, though.

[So much candy!]

[If anything- This is the one type of thing that isn't bothering Alice at all. She's been outside with a book, taking the time to herself for the moment. Reading was enjoyable and she wasn't a fan of the whole internet thing. But it might be that her break is up. She smiles faintly and marks her page before responding.]

No..I was just outside reading. I'm not exactly a fan of that whole..thing for the most part.

Hmm, tis a peculiar wonder this 'internet; so much information can be gathered and yet all I seem to find are moving pictures of cats and people performing a dance they call 'twerking'.

[Out of all the things, this is what he knows of this internet: cat videos and people being morons.]

Somehow I'm not surprised. You have more of a idea about this then I do since it's not exactly worth it to inquire to a point.

[Translation- She keeps to her books. Stubborn to try out this more then she had to..and it's not like anyone has required her to use it yet.]

But it seems to be addicting as well since so many are complaining about it being off.

[Not very much: the only reason he knows is because he wanted to try and use the weird computer things, hoping it would lead him to tools for investigation. But instead, he found felines and strange dancing. And one of them decided to fall and set themselves on fire.]

Mayhap it is due to the difference in realms but I find it hard to use it on a basis like the people here.
