1. No. They're spirits, not actually on fire, and they are not ayakashi -- that is to say, they won't be affected by temple water. They are physically vulnerable, though. Bring an asbestos flyswatter.
2. Fire has a hard time spreading in the forest because it's very lush and wet, and because those moving trees and plant life are not fond of fires and will beat them to death with their foliage if they have to. That is to say, setting fires will not do much damage.
3. The BBS and phones do work within the forest, though as with powers as characters get closer to the center batteries may drain and connection glitches may occur. There's a lot of magical interference in the air here.
4. Yes. They're nailed to the trees and they are made of paper; tearing them down by hand is completely possible.
5. Yes. It may be challenging to interrogate someone who can't remember that anyone's talking to (or applying various means to) them for ten seconds in a row, but it's very possible. Please feel free to ask for an NPC on the mod comment if Chikusa would want to ICly extract information!
