TEST DRIVE # 17



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

[The car is careening on down the road in the dark beyond where Junko sits splayed on the ground. Before now, she's been hit in the head, threatened a few million types by worthless assholes, and killed her own self to further along her plans. But actually almost hit by a car?

It's so frustratingly normal and lame. And Mukuro's not even here to deflect all of her anger and hatred and despair onto.

When she looks up at the sight of light in the pitch black and the face of a strange blond boy, tears automatically spring up into her blue eyes and she sort of gives a wail.]

Oh my god! I almost died! Help me!

[redstray]

[ He starts a bit at the almost instant crying, he examined her, trying to find cuts or bruises, but couldn't find any. ]

Ah...uhm, with what? You're hurt?

[ultimatedisbear]

[Gosh, can't you see that her ego is bruised and battered? Offer her a hand, you moron! And yet, her tears don't stop and she adds in a few hiccups along the way.]

I... I... I twisted my ankle. And my wrist hurts from... from the ground.

[These are injuries that'll take a while to show up. She knows from watching Mikan all that time.]

Which ones?

[ He bends down to check to see if he can find them out, making his aura a bit brighter to light up the area around them. He knows how to treat those at least. ]

I'll bandage them up.

[ultimatedisbear]

[She holds out her left hand for him to bandage. While it might not mean anything now, she knows it will later. She can milk that for all it's worth. And her right foot, still encased in its heavy combat boot all the way up her shin.]

Thank you. [A pathetic sniff, wipe of her tears with her right hand, and a shaky breath later, she calculates that it won't take long for him to handle her "injuries". He seems pretty capable and dependable.

Just like Mikan in that way.

Hopefully he's not easily broken. It's always so despairingly awful when toys break so quickly. Just for good measure, she shifts her voice into a somewhat normal tone.]

I couldn't see the car and it barely missed hitting me. [That sounds reasonable.] It didn't even stop.

[redstray]

[ He summons his aura in his other hand, but only small, enough to burn a bit of his sweater off to make into a bandage. He wraps it around her wrist tightly, making sure it wouldn't move before he looked at her boots. ]

Your boot might hold your ankle better in place of cloth. Until we can get you to a healer.

[ He stands up, offering a hand to help her get up. ]

People like to avoid taking responsibility. Can you walk?

[She takes note of the fact that he has the ability to call up fire. Oh, if only Tanaka-senpai were around. No doubt he'd give some chuunibayou speech about fighting demons from hell or whatever bullshit he came up with to explain it all. And accompany it with that stupid laugh of his.

Okay, so, sometimes, she misses her Remnants and her thoughts travel back to them. It can't be helped.]

That's a good idea. I'm no good with injuries.

[She gives him a wan smile as he helps her stand. He's definitely a serious type. It will take a lot of work to turn him to her will, unless she somehow gets him assigned to her as a Shinki.]

Yes, I noticed that. Even before that, I've meet a few people who had trouble owning to the fact that they hurt others. [Like poor, delusional Taeko or selfish little Leon. But, hey, that's neither here nor there, but definitely not here.

She puts weight on her "injured" foot and carefully lets her knee give out before looking up at her rescuer with a wry smile.]

Some Goddess I am, huh? Can't even walk away majestically after nearly being hit by a car.
