TEST DRIVE # 17



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

[ Teddie wasn’t sure how he even ended up here, or what people were talking about when they were going on about a god…but he certainly didn’t understand the weird get up these guys were in! Maybe Junes was having a really weird event? Wouldn’t be the first time…

Tilting his head, he noticed how polite and courteous the zombie-people were being so he thought he just had to be the same! ]

Thank you for the compliment, but a humble bear like me doesn’t know anything about gods or such! I’m actually looking for a friend of mine! He’s kind of tall and goes by “Sensei”!

two; endless eight

[ Teddie had spent a good half hour wondering why everything in this place looked the same. When he finally noticed that he was just walking in a circle, he stopped and hopped from one section to the other, noticing how it just continued.

Frowning, he immediately looked around to see something that was different; trying to see if maybe someone he knew was having the same problem. Too bad a pair of blue eyes landed on a girl in a bunny suit. Teddie only grins and slides up to her. ]

You’re an unbearably welcome sight! Would you like to go on a date with me?

[ ... he doesn't look like a bear... Maybe this is just a joke? ]

Oh... I'm sorry, I haven't seen your friend around. ... I think. There are a lot of tall people here.

[ Teddie seemed a little deflated at that. ]

I see. He's got very kind eyes and speaks nicely to everyone...maybe that will help more?

[ She shakes her head, then asks gently, ]

What color are his eyes? And what is his name? I... assume "Sensei" is a nickname.

Sensei is Sensei! [ Teddie, not helpful! ]

He's got grey eyes and the same color hair! Souji is his actual name...but I bear not say it!

Oh!

[ There we go. That's better. Mira's expression brightens a bit, and she nods. ]

He's certainly here... I haven't spoken to him personally, but... I've seen him on the network.

[bearpuns]

Really!? What about Nana-chan? Is she here too?

[ Teddie almost sparkles with excitement! ]

Also, did Sensei say anything about me?

[Hey, being asked to man this cafe isn't the worst thing she's done. Not by a long shot. Of course, she's bored and wants to find something to fill her time. In a fit of... niceness(?) she agreed to wear the bunny girl outfit and hand out menus to passersby.

She's noticed the weird blond boy before, but she's not really working hard to attract customers. In her opinion, they'll either come or they won't. She knows what she has is worth looking at and if they expect her to go all out on guys who wouldn't normally register on her radar, then, well, they're dumb.

When he approaches her with a stupid grin and a familiar look in his eyes, she thinks two things. She could be cruel and ruin his hopes right away and watch the despair gather in his innocent features right away. Or.... She can take her time and start off by being nice.

Guess which one she's going with.]

Oh no, you're too sweet, but I'm stuck working here for the day, like a cub in honey.

[She pulls her hand up to her face in an act of shyness.]

Bearhaps I can interest you in some tea and cake?

[ Teddie's eyes light up with the promise of food, a bear pun and not actually being kicked or pushed or told he was a dork! ]

Why, of course, I would be pawsitively ecstatic to join you!

[Oh dearest, blackest Despair... This kid is even better than a certain classmate who she isn't going to discuss any time soon. Is he that starved for attention that he needs to light up like lightbulb because she's been nice to him?

But, you know, bear puns are good. Too bad she doesn't have Monokuma with her.]

Furrtastic. [She gives him a nice, normal smile.] You sit here and I'll be right back with your treat, hm?

Asbearloutely! [ Teddie no. ]

[Teddie yes, you mean.

And Junko's slightly off-center smile even lets him know her enjoyment of his readiness.]

Okay, you just wait right here and I'll be back in two tail shakes. And mind that you keep those paws to yourself.

Unless you want to get clawed by the locals.

Clawed? No, Teddie would like to stay right here and remain pristine!

[Homura looks past him to the cadavers and wonders if that's something she needs to worry about...]

I've never met anybody who goes by Sensei.

What?! But Sensei is Sensei! I guess he also goes by Souji!

[ Teddie seems to have no concern over the cadavers. ]

[Her eyes narrow.]

How do you know him?

[bearpuns]

We are close because of home! He's my Sensei! He helped me discover my Bearsona!

[timeshields]

Bear...sona?

[What did she just hear?]

[bearpuns]

Yeah! Bearsona!! [ Teddie no...]

BEAR PUNS!!!

[ Nanako has also been caught on this loop and not even flying had gotten her out of it. Maybe teleporting would work? But before she went to try and poof back home, she hears a familiar voice from somewhere nearby and stops short, looking around with sudden excitement until she spots the source. ]

Teddie?!

NANA-CHAN

[ Teddie turns around at the voice. He knew exactly who that belonged too and his heart swelled with warmth. ]

Nana-chan! You're here!

TEDDIE!

[ It's yelled a bit louder this time as the little girl flings herself at him excitedly. ]

I didn't know you were here! [ And he remembers who she is! Even if she'd forgotten to worry about that in her excitement to see him anyway. ] Did you just get here? I missed you!

[bearpuns]

I did! I was trying to talk to these nice people earlier, but they seemed to have more to worry about then to talk to me!

[ Teddie doesn't even hesitate to pick her up and hug her, spinning around. ]

Oh, Nana-chan, I'm so happy you're here! I missed you too!

[welcome_home]

[ She giggles in delight as she throws her arms around his neck, beaming at him. ]

Onii-chan will be so happy to see you, too! Especially because you remember who we are!

[bearpuns]

Yes! I would hate to forget you! No place will ever change that!

[ Okay, holding Nanako now because bestest best friend in the whole world. ]

So sensei is here! Everyone was so confused when I asked for him, they acted like they didn't know him!
