TEST DRIVE # 17



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

[Uh okay, one second he's asking someone for directions and the next... that someone isn't there anymore and he's being dragged away by the collar.]

The hell is going on!?

[It's a damn good thing he's so good on his feet because he breaks into a bit of a run to keep up rather than fumbling along like an idiot. Eventually though, he manages to wriggle his collar free of the person's grip and whips around, his face red with anger.]

I wasn't even lookin' at the girls!

[And the lie detector test determined: that was a lie.]

[He stands in the air as he would if he was standing on solid ground, though he continues to keep a hold of Nanako.

Toushirou peers down at the corpse before he shifts his attention to her.]

Can you fly?

It's one of the reasons for this place.

[Toushirou gives her a short nod.]

Hitsugaya Toushirou. [He sheathes his sword on his back.] Are you a shinki or a god?

Dark Deeds

Of course not, who would pray for something like this?

[Unless she meant someone had prayed to pay their electric bill and they'd missed it? Riza's lucky enough to have further back when the car roared past them.]

Calm down. It's not like they could see you. You didn't see them after all.

[And the car was a much bigger target.]

Yeah! [ She's quick to nod, although looks sheepish a moment later. ] I'm still learning, though. And sometimes if I get distracted my wings go poof!

not at all. toushirou has experience with that and he's not happy

The more you practice, the sooner you'll get the hang of it.

[But back to the matter of hand--

He eyes the corpses.]

We need to gather them in a single area and keep them there until this thing is solved.

[ She giggles in delight as she throws her arms around his neck, beaming at him. ]

Onii-chan will be so happy to see you, too! Especially because you remember who we are!

[ Yata jabs a finger at him when he finally pulls free, but now they're safely half a block away so he doesn't mind slowing as well, circling back around on his skateboard until he stops in front of the guy. ]

That's obviously a lie. But I don't care. Dude, there's something weird with them! Didn't you notice?

I have no idea. But that cafe keeps showing up on every street I turn down, with the damn same girls out front. That's weird, right? Right??

is there anything he doesn't have experience with at this point?

[ She glances between him and the corpse still down on the ground, her expression curious. ]

Do you have an idea on how to do that? I can help!

....good point. he's already died (again) and brought back to life--a lot happened

[A small blink.]

We'll need some sort of bait to lure them all together. Once they're gathered in one place, I can freeze them.

[ She hums thoughtfully, then glances up at him uncertainly again. ]

...They seemed interested in me?

[Gohan blinks once, a bit bemused.]

Yeah, it is weird.

[He thinks.]

....Maybe we're supposed to talk to them?

Talk to them?

[ Yata looks at you like you just grew a second head. ]

yes he does

....Are you sure you want to use yourself as bait?

[He won't protest if she insists. The corpses aren't bad by any means, but he wants her to be sure of her decision first.]

[ She glances down again because no, she is not sure at all, but do they have a better option right now? ]

Will you fly me back up if they get scary?

Yeah since we keep coming back to this spot.

[...What?

Gohan just tilts his head and looks at Yata, confused. Did he say something weird?]

[Toushirou gives a nod.]

I will.

[And since she seems alright with her choice, he tightens his hold on her a little as he drops back onto the ground. Once landed safely, he puts Nanako down.]

[Totally something weird about them, now that Yata mentions it...]

Yeah man, I did. They're like, wavin' at me and stuff... one blew a kiss at me earlier. Girls never do that.

[He might have missed the point entirely. That, or he hit the nail right on the head. Is there really any in between?]

[Kirie squints at him, clearly looking skeptical]

[Already she doesn't like you Gohan, she shakes her head, hands going to her hips.]

Oh? Then do you have a better idea?

[Coldly calculating, Makoto lowered her fist and kept an eye on him, though her attention wandered a little more. He was either a God or a Shinki, and it didn't matter which to her, it just meant he wasn't a mad spirit.]

It's just the color of the radiation I can generate.

[Yes, that's what she said, radiation. What else do you call nuclear energy?]

Have you seen the spirit causing all the trouble with the lights?

[Mabel had to admit, seeing a bunch of dead bodies running around was a little creepy to the poor young girl. At first, she was tempted to run as fast as she could wondering if they were going to eat her! Granted, they were really polite but she couldn't help but wonder if it was all just a trick or not. As she narrowed her eyes and pondered a little to herself. Should she attempt to talk to them or not?

Either way, it didn't take long for her to warm up to the undead beings.]

Oh, aren't you the ladies man? C'mon, let's go and see if there's any flowers around! I just know there's one with your name on it!

[Why yes, you are seeing a young girl dragging a dead body to a field of flowers. There's nothing wrong with that!]

Giant Goats

[The moment that Mabel had heard of a giant goats, she figured it was time for a visit to the local barn! While some might find it scary to be facing a giant creature ten times taller than you, that didn't seem to mind with the young girl.

Awwww, look at them! They're so cute! Quick, we should get them something to eat! They are growing goats, after all!
