TEST DRIVE # 17



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Courtly Cadavers

Several dead bodies have very suddenly returned to life. Not only that, but they seem to be possessed by very courteous and polite spirits. So there are reports of half-rotten beings bowing down to young ladies and kissing their hands or holding open doors for other passersby. It's really nice, sure, but also really disturbing.

Dark Deeds

In the middle of the night, there is a spirit that keeps turning off all of the street lamps. Fortunately, there aren't many cars on the roads at this time. Unfortunately, the spirit is also putting out all of the cars' headlights as well. And no cell phone lights or flashlights work during that time either and it's starting to cause a lot of accidents.

Endless Eight

There are eight blocks in downtown Tokyo that have taken to repeating endlessly. As you reach the end of the eight block, you find yourself stepping onto the first block again. No amount of turning or redirecting yourself will allow you to leave the eight blocks - until you stop by a cafe with a couple of bunny girls out front and make a purchase, that is.

Further Forward

Many in Tokyo want nothing more than to be on the cutting edge of technology! And there are some wealthy people who want to be even further ahead than everyone else. That's why they've sent out a general call for new types of technology to be brought to them. And if what you bring is impressive enough, you might get yourself a nice reward~

Giant Goats

Several farms on the outskirts of the city have reported a very sudden and tremendous growth in their goats. That's right, there are two-story tall goats hanging out with the other farm animals. Other than being very large, they seem mostly the same. But since goats will eat anything, well... Let's just say a couple of farmers are going to need new barns soon.

Nunally... [He chastises softly. He reaches to squeeze her shoulder gently. But he's smiling and shaking his head.]

I haven't seen one either, so...

[He turns her chair and glances at the girls again.]

Let's go ask.

[Might as well, right? He starts them over in that direction.]

[A weapon to save souls, an exorcist... Wow, Shion really is in a science fiction. well if he could remember everything with Elyurias he wouldn't be so perplexed and surprised

The god seems unsure to share all this information but Shion is grateful for it. If he can understand the people here just a little more it would make things easier on him. Seeing someone with strange white hair and face markings makes him feel a little at ease. Maybe he's not so abnormal either?]

You must be a very strong god with an ability like that. You must be proud.

[He observes the hand. So different...]

[He looks at Shion immediately, eyes shining a little and a big smiles soon spreading on his face.]

[And then he suddenly makes an awkward look... He probably was too enthusiastic about that. But he can't help himself! He loves learning new things!]

Dark Deeds

[She thought she recognized that stupid hairstyle. Of course, of course it would be her favorite senpai who was here with her. His luck made Naegi's look normal.

And no doubt he would see it as a sign that they were together. And she's not so sure he's wrong this time.

Just as he tries to run away, she hooks her red-painted claws in the fabric of his hoodie and yanks. She's not surprised when his slight weight even comes her way. Nope, not at all.]

But you're going to miss all of the fun. I'm sure there are a few vending machines still standing.

[Wow, look, lady, she isn't really cowed by the stern stare. Others have tried.

There's a speed limit in residential areas, last I checked. I mean, I don't drive, of course, but I can read signs.

[She points in the direction the crash came from with an indelicate stab of her finger.]

Computers are machines that can be used by people or programmed to perform a task. They are compiled of software that assists the user with the tasks they want to complete. Someone can edit the software as well to make something that works in the way they want it to.

[ Pidge doesn't seem very patient with explaining that. She speaks quickly. ]

[She's in despair about the fact that he's going to play a good boy. Also, who the hell talks about themselves in the third person?

Wow, he's much more of a loser than she originally thought.]

Bearfect, be right back.

[And she prances off for a few feet to where he can't see her before she stomps to pour him some tea and put a piece of the stupid cake this shop is making her shill for on a tray. Then she grabs some accouterments and puts them next to the dessert.

Because she can't help herself, she puts salt, not sugar, in a bowl on the tray and heads back to his table.]

I hope you're thirsty!

No but that's okay, we can just make one!

[She said before spreading her arms wide open to the fields all around them! With a proud smile on her face, one could tell that she was plotting something!]

I'm sure we're going to find a bunch of wild flowers here anyway so we're bound to get a pile in no time at all!

[Even though there might be a few giant goats around who might try to eat them but oh well]

Both! There's nothing wrong with giving flowers to as many people as you can! Speaking of which...!

[With that, she simply narrowed her eyes and leaned a bit closer toward Obi. As she gave him a look, it was clear that she was totally serious about this!

Then she gave him the lowest whisper she could muster up!]

[As Mabel saw what was happening before her, she wished that she had some popcorn with her!

To see all of this, it was just so amazing! While she clapped at the theatrics, there was another question popping in the back of her mind.

Sure, he might be okay but she couldn't help but ask!]

Hey, are you sure you're going to be okay? I mean, that goat is pretty big and it'll suck to have a wizardly superhero get hurt!

[ Hibiki shrugs. She's used to the people supposedly in charge being less competent than she is. It's regrettable, but not surprising. ] For those who place faith in those systems, perhaps.

[ Aaaand there goes the goat. It abandons its meal to chase the floating straw, bounding up, up, and away!

Except the straw vanishes as its jaws close around it and it lands on all four hooves, shaking the ground. Heads up! ]

[Yep, he's coming barreling for you with a giant goat behind him, Queen. He doesn't wait to duck at her warning and stumbles forward a little, using his hands to stop him from performing the most graceful of faceplants into the grass. Wouldn't be the first time!]

You told me to get 'em to the water so that's what I'm doin'! Maybe we shoulda considered what to do before doin' it!?

[Makoto, a little cautiously, eyes the goats and the little girl. they're positively enormous. And really, wildflowers probably aren't the best for them. So, in a placating sort of way, she goes on.]

What about hay? I saw some fields full of bales of it, and that's probably safer for their stomachs, don't you think?

[Well, it wasn't like she was a fan of authorities, given her role as a Phantom Thief of Hearts. But she did expect authorities to take notice when something major happened. Things had been that way with Shido.]

I'd just not expect such a thing to happen at all. It's just a cafe...

And that's what I'm trying to do but clearly they don't want to go!

[she spins the bike and reaches out to offer him a hand up. Get on, nerdlord.]

[Never let it be said that Rekka can't follow orders. She takes that moment to look around, but nothing seems obviously out of place; certainly nothing that would give her a clue as to what's causing this, either. It seems like it would take a bit of power to her, but of course she can't say for sure.]

[This is a "Consider All Ideas With Perfect Seriousness" zone. ...Rather, she's used to things like that, and the bait tactic isn't one she really relishes, despite having made use of it once or twice.]
