Character: Ayumu Yamazaki
About: Former ninja for the shogunate and Shinsengumi. On the surface, she acts like a harmless housewife who likes to play big sister and adopt little siblings to take care of. In actuality, she's a highly strained spy and assassin. For the most part, she's fairly nice but she's just starting to figure out how genuine bonding works and how to be honest. She's also unused to civilian life and the modern world but she'd adjusting.
God/Shinki: God - Vesta
Plans: Ayumu's shinki are Ross and Sakon Shima but she's also a close ally of Hijikata/Hachiman. Recently, Ayumu volunteered to teach ninjutsu at Hakkai's school so she'll be mostly be bustling about scouting out students, advertising, and doing general preparation. The subjects she plans to teach are pretty widely varied - combat training, human anatomy, first aid, guerrilla tactics, observation, information gathering, disguise, charm/seduction, etc. She'll be making and putting out fliers as well as try to make her first post to the BBS sometime this month.

I do have some vague longterm plans for her to start her own investigation into rumors she read in a book about troublesome gods being killed so they'll reincarnate into someone more malleable. Eventually I'm hoping for her ninjutsu class to grow into a ninja clan and be a base for a spy network.
Wanted CR: Students, assistants, and guest instructors for her class. Also people who might be coaxed into becoming informants for her.
Unwanted CR: I'm not looking for anything super angsty or potentially traumatic for her right now. She just got through a gauntlet of heartbreak and damaging events and I'd like to keep her on the mend as much as possible for a while.

How is Ayumu with swords, out of curiosity? I've been trying to find a combat teacher for this one. If nothing else, she would be interested in combat medicine/first aid because she has a Victorian shounen that she has to keep plucking out of the fire and he gets hurt a lot. Former tanks is2g

Ayumu's pretty competent with wakizashi/short swords but she tends to use them more as back up weapons than primary ones. Ninjutsu swordplay involves a lot of stabbing maneuvers rather than slashing ones so while she could probably train her to have a solid base, the fighting style would be more precise and evasive than what a samurai might do. In general, Ayumu's sword style is more hit-and-run with escape in mind rather than one involving extended fighting. Ninjutsu style is generally designed to silently and swiftly disable opponents so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for but Ayumu would definitely be willing to teach Lux what she can!

Ayumu might offer to teach her some observation/prevention tricks to keep her Victorian shounen in line, too. She's very versed with pressure points that numb the body if that's something Lux might find useful! (In her experience, it's harder for boys to get into trouble if their limbs aren't functioning well enough to carry them into it.)
