TEST DRIVE # 09

Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.

Old Officials

There's a business that is desperately wishing the older members of their workforce would bow out. They've been sitting on death's door for so long and are doing little to help the company. The younger managers only want to step up and take their place! Help convince these ancient businessmen to step down.

Peanut Party

A celebration for peanuts is sweeping through the city. Peanut butter, peanut cookies, even just plain peanuts are being sold, thrown, and praised all over. It's your job to help spread the peanut love, either by helping to make the tasty treats or by buying more peanuts from the next town over.

Quiet Quail

Oddly enough, a request has come in from a quail, of all creatures. It thinks very highly of itself and knows that it's super mega important, but it has such a hard time being anything but quiet. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to draw attention to this quail - make it stand out like not other quail has done before.

Roaring Riders

A rowdy motorcycle gang has been plaguing the streets for a few weeks. Every night, at midnight, they make their engines roar out in unison, waking everybody in town. The riders themselves are good guys, they just have this one nasty habit that they refuse to give up because it pays tribute to their patron god. Do you have the heart to get them to quiet down?

Slick Sevens

The newest tourist stop is a large casino. It's said that everyone who enters the casino has their luck stolen from them at the door. That might just be silly superstitions and bad gamblers talking, but there is definitely an ayakashi there who seems to feed on people's luck. Maybe that's what's causing everyone to lose so much.

Not that he really knows quite why he'd get snippy with a friend, but it's just what feels normal to him. Well, at least since Ran doesn't remember him enough to know whether what he says is true or not. ]

I don't see the point of forcing people into retirement when they don't want to go. I'm not struggling over it, these people are idiots.

[ He watched the shorter male shuffle out of the way, and he couldn't help but grin towards him. ] Instead of tryin' to hurt the guys, why don't you think about what we can cut out to stop the problem once and for all?

[ Ichiru gives him a flat look for that comment. Well most of the time it was better to cut the person rather than cut the objects around them, but obviously they can't have that now can they? Those times were also little accidents so they weren't out of malicious intent. ]

We can cut the motorbikes or slash the tires. In any case there will be some form of injuries. Given the other alternatives are too dangerous or life threatening.

[ There's a long pause as he stares down at that little text-based face and immediately pegs them as a girl. ]

I'm not a stalker.

[ ~~Sure you're not.~~]

[ Oh? He's a girl now? Well that's funny. ]

Are you certain? It sounded like you were stalking someone.

I don't think it's wise to send that sort of text to someone claiming you're outside their door.

[ Hey, you're the one who shimmied himself into that Nigh Class girl uniform. If the uniform fits. ]

I'm supposed to meet with someone.

[ Geez, bro. Make him sound sleazy why don't you. ]

'God-sama' sounds stupid. [ Was the reply, but the blond came up to Ichiru, hooking his arm around his shoulders and pulling him into a side-hug. ] And you might as well be my kid, with all the work it takes to take care of you!

Hehehe, but you're wrong again! [ And he pointed with his free hand towards the bikes. ] If we cut the engines the bikes will probably hurt the guys. And if we cut the tires, it doesn't so jack for the noise.

[ And he looked down to Ichiru, keeping him from escaping his ~~chokehold~~ arm. ] Ya now how you can makes borderlines to keep stuff away from me, or cut ties between people? That kinda stuff is intangible. [ And he gestured with his arm. ]

Cut the soundwaves! You can do that, yeah? With a little concentration, Ichiru-chan~ Ichi-chan! My number one dattebayo!

Ms. Quail? It's a bird, not a woman.

[ And where did this guy get the flowe-- is he flirting with the bird?! What is wrong with him is he crazy???

No, on second thought, Ran's pretty sure he doesn't want to know. It's probably for the best if he doesn't, actually. He'd thought he looked crazy just talking to it, but here's someone who's flirting with it. Is birdsexual even a thing? What did he do to deserve this? Oh, right. He stopped this guy to get him to help with making the bird stand out. ]

[ ooc: if you don't mind!! i lost my hard drive with all of my icons on it so you are a lifesaver! ]

I suppose the correct term is Kami-sama if you prefer that. Certain Gods seem to be full of themselves as of late.

Ichiru is sui generis, and he likes that, the fact that such a pretty boy turns into a terrifying weapon. ]

[ Sometimes he just gets annoyed with Naruto's constant carefree nature, but at times he kind of appreciates the positivity. He can't place but he doesn't hate it as much as he seems to state.

When Naruto finally gives him his space, he starts to brush himself off some as he waits for the other to start getting himself together. It's true though, he's not going to take anything that looks or feels barbaric. At least when it's barbaric, it needs to be with finesse. He didn't want some sloppy sword job.

He should really remember that. The boy is rather terrifying despite his carefree and neutral attitude. Ichiru would just shove him on the floor or leave if he ever does that. He can't get his personal space with this one. GO FIND HIS OWN KIDS DAMN IT. ]

Quail

[Okay so this is Mabel's realm of expertise. Drawing attention to things. And this quail, well. He's no exception. After a few hours of work, a few hot glue burns on her fingers, and glitter stuck so deep in her hair that it will never come out, but she is producing, to literally anyone who comes near her, a quail in a fantastic, hand-made, felt glitter cape. Not only that but it looks like his wing feathers have been dyed a deep purple.

Hell yeah.

This is a fabulous bird. And she's holding it out to everyone.]

Let me tell you, this is a special experience for you. This is the most fabulous bird you will ever meet. In your whole life. You see it, right? This is one important quail. You are privileged to be in his presence, right?

[She might be going a little overboard.]

Peanut Party

[How much peanut butter cookies has Mabel eaten? Who knows. But she has armfuls of cookies to the point where she can barely see over her stack.]

Look at all the cookies I found! They were just left at my god's shrine! So it's totally okay if I eat them, right? All of them. I'm gonna eat all of them! Do you want one?
