TEST DRIVE # 08



Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:

1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

To get you started, here are some ideas for thread-starters! Feel free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy, though.



Junky Jokes

There is a small spirit girl who is determined to hear some funny jokes before she passes on to the next life. Your job is to come up with some horribly bad, wonderfully funny jokes to make her laugh. Be warned, though, she's got a very serious face that's hard to crack.

Knights Knives

The swords of the knights at a local museum's exhibit have gone missing. They are praying for them to be returned because these swords are worth so much and such a great part of history. Hopefully you'll be able to find them, because otherwise those prayers are going to someone else.

Ludicrous Lightning

There's been a streak of heat lightning going on. It's so intense that sometimes the lightning will light up the night sky as if it were day and there have been numerous power outages in the area. Go help out the people who are without power and make sure that everyone can still live as normally as possible!

More Money

Who doesn't need more money? A little convenience store needs help since all of their employees have fallen ill at the same time. They're offering double wages to anyone who will work for them. Unfortunately, the store is a hot spot for misfortune and ghouls of various kinds. Have fun!

Neon Nourishment

Surprise! A very American man is shoving neon bright candy and cakes at everyone who will stop for even a moment, and he easily notices all Far Shore residents as well. Which means every time you pass him, you'll be getting more and more of this hideously colored food. Enjoy~

[Okay, so jokes aren't Vella's strong suit. But finding sharp pointy objects that can hurt people? That's gotta be up her alley.]

So we just need to find the thief and punch him. Really hard. Maybe we could just punch people until someone confesses. [Violence in general is her strong suit apparently.]

[His expression changed from pure shock and softened at her reasoning. If he was in her position and terrified, he would have tried to hide as well so Aymeric really can't fault the girl. Setting the food down, he heads towards the tree and looks up.]

Aye, he is nowhere to be found.

[And he extends a hand to her. She may need some help to get down and he isn't one to shy away from it.]

[The lady seems to visibly relax at hearing the guy isn't around, but looks at the hand in confusion. She can get down alright by herself...but wouldn't it be rude to not accept the offer? Well, might as well be polite and take it. Slowly, she scoots to the edge of the trunk, and takes his hand in one of her own vambraced ones, before hopping down with the audible noise of armor colliding. The first thing that is obvious, perhaps, is said armor. She's almost in a full set, though she seems to be missing some pants. Who would design such a thing? She's also carrying a shield and lance on her back, and she's definitely close to six foot, if she isn't breaking it already, and seems to be in her twenties, with a smooth complexion and emerald eyes and hair, both hidden under her barbute.

Also, she has a pretty strong country accent.]

Th-thank ya. Looks like he kinda got a hold o'ya, though.

[The first thought he had was that she looked like a goddess from his own realm; specifically the deity who watched over his own nation. It would stun anyone but Aymeric keeps his calm expression as he makes sure she doesn't hurt herself. It would be hard to but honestly without leg covers, it is a bit hard.

Then again, it is a simple tree.]

...What is it? Ah mean, it says 'tootsie roll' but...never seen anythin' like it...

We unfortunately have no sweet treats as these back in my realm. However...

[He does pick up another small roll but as he opens it, the candy looks white instead of the brown.]

I suppose there is no harm in trying?

[And once he pops it in his mouth, he pauses. Was this...is this birch he tastes???]

Looking down at the little nibble in the head, she nods, and into her mouth it goes.

...Holy moly, what is this taste? It's so good! And just the right amount of chewy! Just..give her a minute, she's in a happy place.]

[It must be strange for two adults to be standing there eating odd candy but Aymeric's expression...well, it shows a sense of bliss because out of all the pieces, he grabbed the one that has his favorite flavor. A simple reminder of home and how he put it in his tea, only a small amount to make sure he never wastes it and yet it's been replicated...or was it truly made with it?

Once he swallows, he's stunned at how the man had such a sweet.]

Remarkable...I would have never thought of it in this place...

[The fact that his voice sounds light and pleasant means that he must be ok with the man and his presents.]

[Managing to shake out of her own stupor, She tilts her head, looking confused despite the smile she's got.]
