Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!

Zombie Zoo
A local zoo is having a very serious problem. Specifically, a large number of its dead animals have suddenly come back to life! These animals have all died sometime in the past, over several decades, but now they're crawling out of their grave sites to join the other other animals in the zoo. It's not that they're causing any trouble, they act exactly as they did in life. It's just... really creepy, honestly.
A popular arcade is under siege by restless spirits. No matter how warm the owners try to keep the gaming areas, it's like an arctic tundra inside. The cold is starting to mess with the gaming systems and very few patrons are willing to deal with subzero temperatures just to play some dumb video games. It's quite likely there's an ayakashi plaguing the store, but it's a matter of finding out where exactly it's hiding.
Japan is taking some initiative to adopt a new system for the young people being born into their country! Much like Finland, they are starting a tradition where each new baby has a box of essentials gifted to their parents, which can also serve as a crib while the baby is still small enough to fit inside. You've been enlisted to help put these boxes together! Have fun with all the baby food and diapers.
Every god needs to be promoted, how else will they get followers, right? So that's your job! Go promote your god or, if you're a god, promote yourself! Whether your calling card is literally a card with your phone number or some graffiti sprayed onto every bus in Tokyo, it's all fair game. Just make sure it's going to bring in the customers.
An odd spirit has started following you around. It's the spirit of a dog, who is very intent on getting back to its master. Apparently its master really needs the dog in order to keep living a happy life, that's what you've gathered from all the barking and shoving at least. Whether you decide to help the dog find its master or help it reach the next world is up to you.

If you're uncertain about anything, feel free to check out the Premise, Rules, and FAQ posts. And don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the FAQ!
When and if you're ready to join the game, check out the Taken Characters before throwing in a Reserve and starting on your Application
Have fun!
Tsubomi Kido | Kagerou Project | Shinki
[She tries to ignore it for a long time, she really does. How is she supposed to deal with a dog that needs to find someone, especially if it's dead? Time's up, there's nothing it can do now, it was probably replaced already.
She scowls at it and tries to push it away, tries to ignore it following her. But there's something in her chest that pangs, making her insistent on not wanting to deal with it. She doesn't need unnecessary emotions about something that she can't do anything about anyway.
That's what she keeps telling herself.
It's only when she ducks into an alley that she crouches down to scratch him behind the ears, staring at him with a face that is not nearly as kind as the gesture.]
I guess dogs are supposed to be the most loyal animals...
Zoo
[Oh yeah. Tsubomi has got this. Totally. She can do this. She is absolutely, one hundred percent able to handle this. Do you see the resolute determination she's got in facing this thing? She's so serious.
Until she sees her first dead animal and a chill runs up her spine and she takes in a breath, trying to keep it together, and screams at the top of her lungs, ducking into the nearest cover to just stop herself from looking at them. Oh god they're awful they're decaying bodies shouldn't be doing that how are they moving they can't possibly be moving and oh god she hates gross things like this.
Someone please deal with the loser in the hoodie in the corner. She's a goddamn mess.]
Wildcard
[W/e you want to do with this mess of a person.]
Dog
They are called man's best friend.
[Maybe if they bring the dog to its owner it'll be satisfied enough to let go of it's ghostly existence.]
Do you want to help him?
no subject
Then she frowns and looks back at the dog.]
... It's not like we'll be able to bring him home.
[Not really, right?]
no subject
Though he doesn't have the pics to prove it.]
We can at least bring him back to his master. He'd probably like that.
no subject
[Maybe that was a little too blunt. Not like it mattered. The dog wouldn't understand.]
He's just being stubborn.
no subject
He still has feelings and the desire to be with his master, even if he is dead.
It's not like him being there would disrupt anything.
no subject
And what happens when he goes back and finds out his master already has another dog? It would be cruel.
no subject
Then maybe we should check first?
no subject
If his owner likes dogs that much, they'll eventually get a new one no matter what. It's a bad idea.

Zoo
[As such, she feels some unconscious level of irritation mixed with pity when the other girl runs screaming at the sight of them. Not everyone was prepared for the undead, after all, but there was better ways to handle it than cowering in a corner. Psyche approached the girl's cover and said in a low, firm tone]
C'mon. You can't stay here.
no subject
I don't want to. I hate ghosts. I hate zombies. I'm good. I'll stay here.
no subject
So you're just going to stay here while everyone else deals with them? What if something happens and the zombies become hostile and attack someone?
no subject
[Kido. She wouldn't normally say this but come on it's zombies she hates zombies.]
no subject
Kidokz]That's not the point. You're a shinki. We're supposed to help others.
And even if there's others, what would you do if someone was attacked in front of you? Would you still hide back here?
no subject
It'll be fine.
[Keep telling yourself that, child.]
no subject
What if you could've prevented something from happening later if you acted now?
no subject
They picked the wrong person for this... [She doesn't want to help. She's no hero...]

Zoo - I am so sorry, Kido
Hey! Hey! There's an elephant. A zombie elephant! How cool is that? Let's go get a closer look! Come on! Don't be scared! You're missing out!
no subject
[She digs her heels into the ground and tries to cover her ears so she can block out everything else because that will be fine. Zombies are the worst. Zombies and ghosts.]
no subject
But how are you gonna fix the problem? Cowering here isn't gonna do anything! Come on! You were so confident a minute ago!
[Tug, tug, tug.]
no subject
I don't like ghosts or zombies... [B-but Kido you are a ghost......................]
no subject
Oh, stop being such a weenie! They're dead! You're dead! I'm dead! And we've both got amnesia, too! What's the worst that could happen now?
[Eri, your pep talk skills leave something to be desired.]
The sooner we fix this, the sooner we can be outta here!
no subject
Dead or not, I don't want to even look at those things! [They scare her she's allowed to be scared!]
no subject
But you're a shinki! You're supposed to be, I dunno, heroic!
[For a second, Eri stops tugging and it seems like she might give up. But no, instead she attempts to physically pick the other girl up. Considering Eri is a small Japanese-American girl with a slender build and not enough upper body strength to pull this off, this isn't going to end well.]
no subject
I can handle it when it's not zombies. I hate zombies...
