Whether you're trying to figure out how your character would fare in this
setting, trying to get some samples together, or just dipping your toes in
the water, you've come to the right place! The Test Drive is here to make
your life easy by letting you see what the game is like without actually
joining it first. So here is how it works:
1: Post a starter with your character, including whether they are a god or
shinki in the subject line.
2: Act like your character is established enough in the setting to allow
your thread to go places.
3: Take on any god/shinki of your choosing, as long as they're not already
in the game!
4: Comment around to the other people on the meme.
5: Have lots of fun!
free to come up with your own ideas if these don't strike your fancy,
though.

Yellowed Years
An old man can be found sitting silently on a bench and staring intently at
a yellowed photograph. It depicts two men standing next to each other, both
of them looking like they've just gotten in a fight, although they are both
smiling widely. Anyone who sits next to him will hear the tale of how he
and his best friend were always getting into trouble. Unfortunately, the
old man seems to be fading as one of the two men in the picture becomes
more and more vibrant.
Four very excitable young people are running around on the streets and
stopping whoever will glance their way for more than a second. They have
brightly colored hair and brightly colored clothes and if you'll give them
a moment of your time, they will talk your ears off about how the world is
too drab and dreary and needs to be brightened! Heck, they'll even try to
start dying your hair right there in the streets.
A small library is holding a special art show for local artists to put out
their works. There is one very particular stipulation on the rules of this
art show, though, and that's that all pieces of art must be created just
using paints and the artists' tongue. They need lots of art, though, if
it's going to be beneficial to them and they refuse to budge on the tongue
thing! So help them out by making some painstaking works of art.
There is an odd phenomenon spreading through the children of the city. Many
of them are starting to bounce around on their bottoms like some sort of
cartoon tiger! Parents are baffled and concerned by their children's
suddenly rubbery buttocks and are hoping to find some way to fix their kids
- or at the very least a way to keep them from bouncing around so much and
breaking so many things.
A particularly irritating group have taken up a number of corners on the
busier streets, preaching loudly about their savior and their religion.
Nearly everybody in the city is fed up with hearing them, mostly because
they keep actively stopping people in their daily routines and forcing
lectures on them. Also, there are some strange rumors about them kidnapping
people. Please get them off the corners...

Nanako Dojima | Persona 4 | God
[ There's a small girl standing half-hidden behind a tree in the park. A very noisy and riotous park at the moment, it seemed, as there were about a dozen children literally bouncing around the playground on their behinds. It should be quite impossible and it's sure to draw the attention of any adults wandering by, but for the little girl spying out of sight, it looks like great fun.
In fact, after several moments of watching with wide, curious eyes, she breaks into giggles, one hand lifted to stifle the sound. ]
They look like they're having fun! Maybe I should try it too?
Wildcard
[ Have another idea? Feel free to toss it here! I am not a current player here and still figuring things out, as well as testing her voice for the first time. >.> ]
goddamnit rynn
He braces his hand against the tree his cousin is hiding behind, peering around it to check how the park is going. (Still sproingy, unfortunately.) ]
Well, it's only fun until they realize they won't be able to stop. But maybe if we can find a way to turn it off and on by choice you can give it a try.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No, not being able to stop doesn't sound like very much fun. Do you think they'll get sore? [ She sounds rather worried over the possibility until something else occurs to her and she giggles again, smiling up at him. ]
Will you try it with me too, Big Bro?
weeps
They might, and their parents seem awfully worried about them, don't you think? [ Souji's glad she's so empathetic, really. He smiles down at her and reaches to put his hand atop her head. ] If you help me find out how we can stop them, we can definitely try it later.
pats your head consolingly
I don't want them to worry. Can we fix this, Big Bro? Do you know how? [ She's still very new to this whole 'answering prayers' deals. It's still a lot for her to wrap her head around and reason her way through. ]
If they're not doing this by themselves, does that mean someone else is making it happen?
(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
Do you remember those mean spirits you were told about? The ones only we can see? Sometimes, they play tricks on people. And this seems a lot like one of their tricks. So, that means we have to find the one causing this.
chinhands
[ She nods her head as she squints in thought because she'd been learning about them lately. It was important, and she wanted to help. ]
Playing tricks on people isn't nice. Where do we find them?
she's so good and pure
[ Souji can't help but feel proud of her, for how she's been handling her new role here. It terrifies him, especially after almost losing her once, but she's strong. And she's not alone. ]
There are always clues around, and they're never far from the trouble they've caused. So we'll have to be detectives, just like your dad.
hands you a tissue for all the crying
Can we? I can do that! I can be a good detective. We'll find the bad spirits before anyone gets hurt. Are we gonna put them in jail, Big Bro?
weeps profusely
There's not really a jail for ayakashi, but we'll put them to rest, in a way. How does that sound? They'll be much happier because of that, and they won't be able to cause any more trouble. [ Souji's not sure if that's 100% true, but it sounds right, especially for someone like Nanako. ]
whistles innocently
yeah innocent my ass
Like Feather Hawk needs the rest of his teammates to fight for justice.
what happened to good and pure?? :O
...Maybe not so lucky for you, actually, because she immediately strikes one of the poses in determination. ]
I will help you find the clues! But I think you need a cape first. Feather Hawk has a cape.

[Akihiko smiles faintly to himself as he looks on from just behind her, arms folded across his chest. As a shinki, he doesn't belong to Nanako, but he might as well, given her relationship to the god he does follow.]
But you might want to wait until we're sure we can make it stop. Wouldn't want you to bounce your way into an injury. Your brother would never forgive me.
no subject
I don't want them to get hurt either. Maybe we should find out how to make it stop. Would that help them?
no subject
[Easier said than done, but he's not afraid of a challenge. He has a feeling that goes way back.]
They're having fun right now, but I don't think that's going to last forever. We'll have to find the source.

Could be. They seem to be the cause of most of the trouble around here. But that's what we're here for-- to protect people from them.
no subject
I don't know how to fight like Big Bro does, though. Can I still protect them?
no subject
[He's pretty sure that's not against any rules, at any rate.]
Besides. You don't just need strength to help people. You need heart, and you have lots of that.
