If the god or shinki attempt to use alternative "canon" powers such as that, they will find that initially the power seems to work as normal. However, at some point after they step into the teleportation / complete the spell / etc., they will then feel the repellent effect - like walking against a strong wind. They are then returned to somewhere close to the point they began.
