[Dean has a subtle bounce to his movements, just ever so slight. Trying to remember the things that had worked on him when he was a kid is kind of hard it's been thirty years - not counted that compressed forty in Hell and all the other weird shit that makes it seem like a literal century- so it's a bit hard to remember.

But he what he does remember is tomato and rice soup, Mary singing Hey Jude to him at bedtime. He remembers being tucked into bed with a gentle smile and sly reminder that angels were watching over him. But those things are intimate and he can't share them not with someone that isn't family - even if it is just a baby.

But the Beatles makes for a better lullaby than Zepplin or AC/DC so he'd latched on to the first song that wasn't his he could think of which is what made him sing Blackbird.

Being so absorbed in his thoughts and the song he doesn't notice Castiel coming in until he hears his name. That makes green eyes snap open and he tilts his head in question. Thankfully the child in his arms has calmed somewhat for whatever reason. So he allows himself a soft inquiry.]

Cas? You doin' alright? I know it's kinda hectic and you're not good with babies.

[Which makes him smile because at least that's ONE thing that hasn't changed - best not to dwell on any of that though. There's a whimper from the child in his arms and he shushes her soothingly with a soft hum before speaking again.]

Try humming, maybe rocking. Once we get them settled down they should be alright.
