She'd be lying if Elena wasn't grateful to have the help, even if said help was a helmet wearing mute. So long as she was able to keep the children in line - and she was - then Elena wouldn't complain.

Slowly each child was returned to their homes, the line shrinking until there were only a few left. Everything was going splendidly, though something felt...off. As she knelt down to help one of the children whose shoes had come unlaced, she had seen something that didn't quite look right. Another child, further back with the helmeted woman, was starting to wander off when something...black and smoky reached out and brought them back.

What kind of 'stigma is that?

For the rest of the drop-offs Elena is mindful to watch the woman, looking for that smokey tendril, to confirm she's not seeing things.
