[Of course the person who turns out to be next to Mukuro is confused and walking in circles, because that person happens to be Ken. Of the entire Kokuyo gang, Ken's probably the worst at perceiving when something's an illusion. He relies heavily on his senses, reacts to things on keejerk instinct(which is to say he doesn't take time to study or question them much beyond his initial perceptions), and on top of being hotheaded, he's not the brightest. He's easy picking for any illusionist...

[Ken's sense of smell has been sending him conflicting messages with his sense of sight, is the problem, though Ken hasn't pinpointed the contradiction yet and would have a hard time articulating the conflict even if he did. Like his fellow Sun flame Ryohei, Ken has his own, more physical ways of piercing the veil of illusions - and it's a rare illusionist who accounts for having to deceive the olfactory senses. Probably no one but Mukuro, Chrome, and Fran would ever consider it as a necessity for a truly convincing environmental illusion - and that only because they know what it would take to fool someone like Ken.]
