Of course no one had to interfere! Tristepin was a Knight of the Order of the Shushu! He had fought monsters and demons, he didn't need anyone's help to take down a few petty thugs. When the voice piped up again, though, Tristepin took a step back and looked upward, giving a bit of a start when the figure above rose and a bright light appeared seemingly from nowhere. They were dressed in a cape, and a large ridiculous hat, and as Tristepin watched in awe, they fired a rope from within the folds of the cloak and swung down with a flourish.
Tristepin's jaw slid ajar as the figure swooped down, and a huge grin split his face.
"That. Was. Awesome!" he crowed, fanged smile almost too wide for his face. "A genius, huh? Or is that just part of your name? Are you really a thief, or is that just part of the name, too? You shouldn't steal things from people, that's not very heroic--did you come here to stop these thugs, too? Sorry I didn't leave any for ya, you should'a come down sooner!"
Then he thrust one hand out, still grinning.
"I am Messire Tristepin de Percedal, Knight of the Order of the Shushu," he said, figuring one fancy title deserved another. "Nice to meet'cha, Mister... uh... Phantom Genius."
