There's nothing like following in the footsteps of your best friend and risking your life to find out who you really are. Right? Wrong.

Axel's going to be finding out the hard way why shinki shouldn't ask too many questions on April 28th (IC date) after dragging Roxas out for a little heart-to-heart and pestering him into blurting out a thing or two about Axel's real past… causing him to transform into an ayakashi and rampage off across the scenery.

I will be dropping him after this plot, so unfortunately, he won't be back once someone succeeds in taking out his ayakashi form!

What does this mean for you and your character?

• Gods who have given Axel a name will be severely blighted by this transformation. The blighting (and the associated pain) will continue until Axel is killed or the god releases him. Symptoms of blight this bad are: extreme pain, skin discoloration covering a large part of the body, weakness, and coughing up black, tarry gunk. Once the blighting stops, the god's blight can be washed away with shrine water as per usual.



• There's going to be a nasty ayakashi rampaging across Heaven until he's stopped! Your character might encounter him or have to fight him. Inspired by some canon ayakashi as well as the Assassin Nobodies under Axel's control, Axel's ayakashi form is going to be able to evade attacks by temporarily melding into walls or floors, so if you just want a drive-by encounter but not a full fight, that can be an option.



• I am open for threading out up to five fight threads with ayakashi Axel! Like any normal ayakashi, he can cause blight as well as injury to any god or human-form shinki he touches, and although he can be hit and injured by magic or mundane weapons, only a god wielding a shinki can kill him.

How will this play out on an OOC level?

• A catchall event log will go up September 22nd for blighting, fighting and any drive-by ayakashi sightings!



• If you want your character to fight Axel, let me know by replying to the "FIGHT VOLUNTEERS" comment below before September 18 at 10 PM EST! If I get more than five takers for fight threads, I'll RNG to pick five. (Note: this is threads, not characters, so if two or three characters will be attacking together that counts as one thread -- make one volunteer comment for the whole group.)



• If you want a drive-by ayakashi sighting, let me know by replying to the "AYAKASHI APPEARANCES" comment below before the log goes up and telling me generally what you want! Options range from "I briefly caught a glimpse of this weird thing" to "it took my leg off in a single blow!" -- to keep my tag load under control, though, these are just going to be single comments dropped into your thread before Axel swans off to do some more damage somewhere else.

Popping in to say that whatever group gets first thread, Roxas is not gonna be useful in this fight. You'll get asked for help and then it's up to you what will happen to passed out blond. For all I care you could leave Roxas right where he passes out or kind of shove him aside. /o/

I'm a little burnt out on fights atm but I'm good with drive by ayakashi encounters!

I'm good with Psyche getting an eyeful and then missing him after trying to chase after him, since he does have that nifty floor-wall meld technique. If you want to take a swipe at her or lob fire her way too, that's definitely fine.

I'm looking mostly for a 'what the hell is an ayakashi that big doing here?!' ^.^o
I'm leaning towards not getting too close, although if he gets a glimpse of the human part sticking out of the ayakashi, he's going to be upset about it. (yes, good o7)

He'll try to give chase, but sounds like Axel will be able to evade him without too much trouble.

I figure this whole incident is causing enough chaos for his telepathy to be catching Something Bad Is Going Down. Because he really wouldn't even get close, it'd be kind of cool for Schu to reach out and try talking to Ayakashi Axel and figure out just how sentient he's not anymore? Something like that seem alright?

BLIGHT CLEANSING

Forrest won't be participating in any of the fights, but considering this will be affecting several of his close friends, he'll be offering up the healing pools in the garden of his temple for purposes of cleansing the blight afterward. Anyone who comes out of this with any amount of blight can feel free to assume that he extends the invitation, and I'll most likely make a post for this purpose after the main fight threads wrap up.
