School Investigation

Hello, everyone!

This is an OOC plotting post for the school investigation that Tsuzuki proposed on the network here. I'd just like to figure out who will be coming with him back to the no-longer-ayakashi-infested high school to continue their investigation of the principal!

Tsuzuki is going to be pursuing information about the principal to try to discover whether he was possessed by the ayakashi that was defeated, and is now back to normal, or whether he is a magic user that deliberately summoned the ayakashi to use against the students. Our mods have kindly offered up the following general information about their return to the school:

None of the students or faculty will really remember any of the Far Shore residents. They might vaguely recall them, as if from a dream, but that's about it.

The principal did not die and anyone spoken to in the school now will talk about how he was trying to cut every extra program out of the school and hated all of the 'outliers' in the school passionately. Many of the teachers were against him becoming principal and a lot of kids were pulled from the school by their parents when he took charge, though they are now back with their friends where they belong.

It's easy enough to find where the principal lives, but his neighbors don't have much to say about him except for the fact that he's a huge shut-in. Though they have seen some weird lights in the middle of the night sometimes...

For ease of organization and threading I'd like to get everybody divided up into smallish groups with the same investigation goals, so please feel free to use this post to plot with each other and figure out who'll be working with whom! I'm planning to put the post itself up tomorrow or Saturday once we've had a chance to work things out, so we have a few days to tag around before the next event log goes up.

I had Yuya break into the server room of the school in the event log, but he wasn't using it to search for any info on the school itself since he just wanted to start his network of servers. Other than giving whatever info Tsuzuki wants, he's not that interested in digging too deep on his own. So he won't be joining the log.

Since Joshua looks like a student and thus is unlikely to be able to directly get any information out of the teachers, he'll be using his telepathy to instead sift through their thoughts and get the answers he needs. He'll also be utilizing his handy dandy pseudo-invisibility that comes with being a resident of the Far Shore to look through school files for any information.

Awesome! If you're up for it, Tsuzuki'll be planning to do a lot of direct asking of the teachers, and if Joshua wants to hang around and listen to them think at the same time they could probably pick some information up that way?

Kaneki found a really sketchy shrine in the closet of the Principal's Office, and he'd be interested in getting a better understanding of what actually transpired there as well. So he'd be willing to participate and likely would've contacted Tsuzuki privately.

Awesome! Would there be any specific thing he'd want to investigate/method he'd want to use while at the school?

Psyche found some protective charms in the teacher's room and briefly talked to some students while as a teacher's assistant, including a girl who had a falling out with another over disagreements about their suspicions with what was going on. She'd definitely be interested in following up those angles to see if she can find more.

Tsuzuki'd love to get a look at some of those charms now that she's told him about them.

Shun found the sketchy shrine with Kaneki and the occult books with Tsuzuki, so he'd be interested in finding out what exactly went down mostly because he's not the sort to leave something open like that. Also because clearly he needs to learn more about this occult stuff if he's going to be dealing with it this much.

Ha, if he and Tsuzuki wind up on any better speaking terms maybe Tsu could end up giving him lessons.

(He's a terrible teacher but Shun might be able to keep him on track.)

-- That said, would he and Kaneki be interested in following up the shrine angle? Maybe looking for any hints of who the principal could've been worshipping, since that might implicate a god in the whole situation? The Heavens sure did seem to know exactly what day things were going to go wrong....

I'm interested in adding Omi to this excursion! He could have contacted Tsuzuki privately as they've already expressed a shared interest in investigating things.

I don't have anything specific that Omi would want to look into so consider him flexible for anyone who needs a tag buddy :3

Omi + Nagi for hacking plus recon around the principal's home?

Nagi is in! Hacking is kind of solitary thing though, so not sure how to integrate him into the log itself, aside from maybe updating Tsuzuki in person on his findings... He might show up at the guy's various residences or places he's been spotted to do in-field recon, maybe stalk a few of the guy's associates (if any), assuming the man himself is not anywhere to be found. Could help out at the school as needed too!

Looks like Omi will be coming as well, so if the two of them wanted to do some hacking (or supernatural abusing-Nagi's-shinki-powers hacking) that might be an option!

The mods have also offered the principal as an NPC if we want to have them interact with/interrogate him, and Tsuzuki will want to drag along Joshua on that for the advantages bringing a mind-reader to an interrogation gives... if Nagi's hanging around looking for the guy at his residence, maybe he could be the one who finds the principal/delays him until the interrogation crew shows?

Great! Maybe he and Psyche could be team "let's grab some of the evidence we spotted earlier"? Books, charms, etc?

Kurama's biggest priority here would be to cut off the principal's power so there's less danger of another ayakashi attack (or at least one of the same severity) when they apprehend him, so he can poke around the office or library until he finds something to steal/wreck or break into the principal's house for same.

-- Nagi is going to be surveilling the principal's house/trying to grab him and keep him there for Tsuzuki and Joshua to question. What do you think about having Kurama go with Nagi and check the guy's house for any kind of ritual or power-storage items that could be feeding him energy, to make it safer when they catch him?

If there is a need for him, Genos would go. The whole school crisis bugs him, because it's so unlike everything before, and he wants to learn more.

As for skills, he brings the scanners on the table, but they obviously can't really get readings on magic. However, what they could pick up is if said magic had physical and mundane side effects (weird temperature spikes in certain areas, energy flickering, or something affecting living people and their vitals, like the energy drain).

That's of course only if there are any free spots left.

Hmm -- he could check the students who were energy-drained during the event log/teachers who are back from being 'out sick' and see if his scanners can pick up anything about them? (Like, were the teachers actually "sick" because of the same energy drain, for example.)

He might be able to work with Reiji on this one -- Reiji for asking students/teachers questions, Genos for scanning them? How are Genos's scanners at picking up physical symptoms of lying?

Tsuzuki'd want her to help out with her knowledge of 'normal' ayakashi behavior and of the current pantheon! There's a couple of options for that -- Kaneki and Shun are looking for the sketchy shrine they found in the principal's office to see if they can figure out if a god might have been involved, and Nagi and Kurama are investigating the principal's house to uncover information about his activities/see if he has any power items left there. Would she be interested in one of those over the other?

Reiji didn't get much involvement due to being a student, but he'd definitely volunteer to come after contacting Tsuzuki. He doesn't have a team as of yet so if anyone wants him along let me know!

Gojyo wants to go threaten the principal to get information about the ayakashi monster out of him.

Tsuzuki and Joshua'll be trying to talk to him at his home for information! Could be fun to throw Gojyo in there as well?

(Although I'm not sure they're planning on threatening him. That'll kind of depend on what he ends up saying.)

Hajime is pretty much up for anything. She want's to support Tsuzuki best she can, naturally this includes Yuuki so. She'll be open to suggestions from Tsuzuki and keeping an eye on everyone's threads in case there is any trouble.

Maybe she and Yuuki could help coordinate...? Since she can tell if anyone gets into trouble/where they are?

Elsa will sit the investigation out, but she wants to be informed of what's found out if that's okay! If there's any way she can help without being there, I'm open to that too.

Tsuzuki would be willing to talk it over with her! He's a little worried about her motivations after the Yomi-no-kuni trip, but he respects her intelligence, so he'd like a second opinion on whatever he turns up.
